Love Long Gone

Love Long Gone

Even the people at nearby tables put down their cutlery. She was quiet for a long time. Her face was pale and tight. Finally, she said just one thing, her voice low. "I want to see your father." That one sentence made me laugh out loud. Hearing those words from her mouth made me sick. She frowned at me like I was crazy. "What's so funny?" "You," I said. "I'm laughing at you. At how you can still stay so nonchalant." I wiped the corner of my eye, my voice thick with hate. "Dad is dead. He's been dead for three years."

Broken Season

Broken Season

Luna was almost hypnotized by the sound. Albert sang the lyrics of "Goodbye" by Air Supply, and each word seemed to resonate with his true feelings. The pain in his voice was palpable, and Luna felt it deeply. He was letting her go for her own good, even if it meant hurting himself. The lyrics conveyed his willingness to endure pain rather than make her cry. There was nothing left to do but say goodbye. "I can see the pain living in your eyes And I know how hard you try You deserve to have so much more

There is no growth in this book. The author keeps moving in a circle. With 399 chapters, misunderstanding btw Bill & Arabella & evil plots against them has not been cleared. I don't see this book ending any time soon. The author keeps repeating the same intentions of the characters in every chapter.

The Final Goodbye

The Final Goodbye

“You’ve lost everything because you can’t separate business from emotion. I’m done trying to save you from yourself.” “James—” But he was already turning away. “Goodbye, Alex. I truly hope you find your way back before it’s too late.” He opened the door and walked out. The slam echoed like thunder. For a few moments, Alex just stood there, the room spinning around him. The envelope still sat on his desk, untouched. His heart was thumping heavily, each beat louder than the last. He rubbed his face with both hands and dropped back into his chair. For the first time in years, he felt completely alone. His best friend, his ally, gone.

The Final Goodbye

The Final Goodbye

That was when my phone buzzed with an email. I opened it to find a photo of the endless ocean, its blues merging with the sky. There it was, Wynnie's goodbye note. [Kelvin, if you're reading this, I'm probably gone. I've often pondered the cruel jokes of fate. You gave me your whole heart, but I was blind to my own. Now that I've hurt you enough to drive you away, I realize I can't bear a life without you. You might laugh at my words now.

Her Last Goodbye

Her Last Goodbye

"Logan, will you only be satisfied after you've driven me to my death? Harley Brooks is leaving for Toronto soon. After this, we'll never have another chance to see each other. I'm only going to see him off as his professor. Is that wrong too?" Her phone rang unexpectedly. When she answered, her voice turned impossibly gentle. "Okay, wait for me. I'll be there in half an hour." Before leaving, Leighton tossed the divorce papers into the trash. "We'll discuss when I get back. But don't even think about a divorce." She slammed the door so hard it echoed. Inside the room, only the sound of my own sobbing remained. I'd already checked. There were no flights to Toronto tonight. Sure enough, not l

Eight Years to Goodbye

Eight Years to Goodbye

A long time later, Mason's phone finally ran out of battery, and the screen went dark. He was still sitting alone in the house he had bought back, letting the night swallow him whole. Our story had already ended the moment he took the bouquet from my hands. And he hadn't even had time to say goodbye. The End

Frequently Asked Questions

Raymond Chandler's 'The Long Goodbye' is one of those noir gems that sticks with you long after the last page. It follows private detective Philip Marlowe as he gets tangled in a web of deceit, murder, and broken friendships. The story kicks off when Marlowe helps a drunk stranger, Terry Lennox, who later flees to Mexico after his wife is murdered. Marlowe’s loyalty to Lennox lands him in hot water with the cops, but things spiral further when a troubled writer, Roger Wade, enters the picture. The plot thickens with blackmail, disappearances, and a whole lot of double-crossing.

What makes this book special is how Chandler blends hard-boiled detective tropes with deep emotional weight. Marlowe isn’t just solving a case—he’s wrestling with betrayal, the illusion of friendship, and the bleak underbelly of LA’s elite. The ending isn’t your typical tidy resolution; it’s bittersweet and leaves you pondering Marlowe’s moral code. If you love crime fiction that’s as much about character as it is about plot, this one’s a must-read.
