I sat down and put my legs in the water. I kept playing with the water when a figure approached me. I looked up with squinted eyes due to the sun and it turned out to be my handsome husband. He stretched the drink to me and I collected it from him but didn't say anything. I kept slurping on the drink and finished it. He kept trying to bring up conversations but I ignored him "Why are you ignoring me? I've been trying to have a conversation with you but you just sat there mute." He said pissed

After what seems like hours but is actually just a few minutes, I think he’s finally given in, but he only looks back at his screen and ignores me until I speak up again. “Did you just ignore me?” “No, wife,” He still doesn’t look at me. “I gave you my reply already. Now, if you don’t mind, I have a lot of work to do.”

I called and shut the door behind him. He didn't pay attention to me but walked to the table, grabbing his keys from it. I walked up to the sofa in front of the table and plopped myself on it, folding my hands across as I watched him mutter rage-filled words to himself. “Seriously? You’ll just ignore me like that?” I clicked my tongue, shaking my head. He fixed his gaze on me, not saying a word. “Tristan, you can always speak to me when you're mad over anything rather than burst out of the house angrily. That’s why I’m your wife. Come here.” I extended my hands to him.

She debated whether to share the embarrassment and shame she had suffered at the hands of her husband and his family. It wouldn't hurt to talk to someone, right? she thought. The tears came pouring, and she finally spilled everything. Every hurtful word. Every heartbreak her husband had inflicted during their marriage. Gerald listened silently, not interrupting once. "Tell me... what should I do?" she sobbed. Gerald sighed. From what she'd said, he could tell her husband didn’t love her anymore. But he couldn’t bring himself to say it. "Well," he cleared his throat. "You could leave."

As a husband, I should keep my wife thinking and feeling that she's safe in my arms, not the ither way around. I fucking ignored her, and it aches my head worse than a fucked up hangover. I didn't want to argue with her. Actually, we didn't. We're just... not talking to each other, or rather, I'm not talking to her. She made several attempts to approach me, but I couldn't bring myself to speak without showing how disappointed I am. I'm done being told by men what I should do. He has always been the one to tell me to talk it out with him. That he's always there for me. And when I try to do the same, he pushes me away. He ignores my questions as if they were never asked. He ignores my worries for him as if he is allergic to being cared for. But not anymore... "You are acting like a wife..." He said he was taking a towel from the cupboard. "But!" She tried to talk to him. "I’ll be back." He shuts her down and walks to the bathroom, shutting the door behind him. She dropped her jaw. "Isn't he ignoring me right now?" She sighed. "Geez!" She hit her feet on the floor. "He is super upset with me, but he can't ignore me after all; I’m his wife." She sucked her teeth. After some time. Aaron is doing his work on the laptop in his home office.

He looks at me, clearly annoyed. “I’m sorry, I hadn’t realised.” I walk past him and go upstairs, hearing him follow. “This is a marriage, Mazikeen. I’m done with this nonsense over the past few weeks. Since we moved here, you’ve been acting crazy and like someone who has forgotten what respect is,” he argues. I go silent, unsure of what to reply to him. What do I say to that? “Your mother rang you as well, and you ignored her. Someone who brought you up and fed you, and you couldn’t even answer the phone to her,” he shouts, and I turn to face him.
