I smile “Oh! You’ve been bribing me a lot with this mini me, let’s see what it would have to say about it when it comes out of that stomach” Jim smiles, and kneels to place a kiss on my stomach. Jim and I walk into the bedroom, the bedroom envelops us in an atmosphere of comfort and serenity. Soft hues adorn the walls, casting a gentle contrast against the warm, ambient lighting. The never-ending screech of an alarm clock assaulted Zira’s ears. Each time it went off it ripped her further from her blissful dreamless sleep. Blinded, tired, and wedged under something heavy Zira wiggled to the edge of the bed and sifted through the pile of clothes on the floor until she found the source of the noise.

THE ROOM was quiet. The only thing that can be heard is the soft, steady beeping sound of the ICU ventilator beside the bed, where a young woman laid. The sky outside the windows is bright and sunny, complementing the news that will soon be revealed. The door opened with a soft creak. A nurse came inside the room. Her gaze went to the woman peacefully sleeping on the bed and walked towards her.

She gave another small smile and looked away. He gave a smile in response. “You’re welcome, Miss Jackson.” The car fell into silence once more. After driving another 20 minutes, they arrived at a 5-star hotel; Bliss. When they approached the building, Derreck got out of the car first and guided Leah in. They walked into the building through the revolving doors and approached the front counter. The woman behind the desk eyed Leah suspiciously, but didn’t allow it to be shown on her face. “Welcome to Bliss, my name is Ashley, how long will you be staying with us?”

Big hazel eyes seemed to look down on Bliss as if she were nothing but a dietary supplement. Bliss nodded coldly at the other woman and walked into the house through the french doors. She glanced back once in time to see the woman wrap her arms around Chal's neck. She hurried up the stairs and slipped into the door of her room. With a growl of thwarted need and frustration, she kicked the corner of the wrought iron frame that surrounded the big mirror by the closet door. The mirror over her dressing table revealed the tragic state of her reflection.

She patted me gently and walked to the other rooms on the far left. I nodded, still feeling uneasy about the tension between Annie and Brian. But I didn't want to make a big deal out of it, especially since Annie had shown me so much kindness. I opened the door to my new room, hesitating at the threshold. It was spacious, filled with antique furniture and draped with heavy curtains. A large, four-poster bed sat in the centre, its covers turned down invitingly. I wandered over to the window, pulling back the curtains to reveal a stunning view of the village below, its lights twinkling beautifully.
