His calm composure started to crack ever so slightly.
Days passed, and even with the chaos of wedding planning, family coming and going, and endless discussions about logistics, I continued my silent rebellion. Every time he tried to talk to me, I gave him short, polite answers, my tone neutral, almost cold.
He couldn’t understand it. He’d glance at me from across the room, pause mid-sentence when I walked away, or quietly watch me move around without saying a word. And I could see it in his eyes—the worry, the tension, the question he couldn’t quite voice: why was I ignoring him?
