"Give me a second chance..." I ignored him, taking a step back. They always wanted a second chance, one they couldn't keep. In the past, second chances had been given to members to prove themselves. After the membership transfer was complete, Gabriella saw Rod out and then turned to the employee, asking to see the owner. "I'm sorry, Ms. Gabriella, our owner isn't here," the employee said politely. Gabriella frowned. "He's not here? Where else would he be besides the clubhouse?" The employee smiled but didn't respond to Gabriella's question. "Fine. When you see him, tell him I want another membership," Gabriella said. The Brookside Club was a great place to talk business, and she didn't want to be locked out of it. The employee's brows furrowed slightly. "Ms. Gabriella, according to the rules, a person can only have one membership."

I just stared at her. She pointed again, slower this time. “So… was it your mate?
