The lost packs
It’s a heart-wrenching sight, and the lump in my throat makes it impossible to articulate my thoughts.
I gaze up at him, feeling the warmth of his grip tighten as if he’s trying to impart strength through touch. “We will find a way to go on living,” he whispers, his voice shaky but determined, as he fights back fresh tears. “We can be strong.”
But the words feel hollow in the depths of my despair. “I... I don’t know,” I murmur, shaking my head slowly, my heart heavy with uncertainty.
“You have to,” he insists, urgency creeping into his tone. “In two hours, we have to meet Zombie in the park and tell him what happened. You need to be there, as the new Alpha of The Stars.”
