Under the Hallow Veil (Editingle Halloween Anthology)
But who?
Sensing movements near her, her eyelids fluttered in confusion. At infinite speed, three shadows spun in circles. Like an impenetrable air, they twirled, whispered, rubbed, and choked her. Her hands wrapped around her neck, she strangulated herself. Black blood, she coughed. ‘No, she can’t kill herself. It’s unforgivable,’ she thought, and her palm dropped on the ground.
In seconds, the sick black transformed into countless spiders. They looked ready to poison their venom in her. Unpredictably, she could still shift, so she toddled under a dead tree, curled her knees up to her chest and mourned for her doomed fate.
