"Let's go downstairs and watch some TV." Bonnie frowned, "uhh, are you mocking me or something?" She asked Lorenzo mentally face palmed, "No-umm-I mean, I have a blindfold-" Bonnie giggled, "So you want to go downstairs and watch TV with me, a blind girl while wearing a blindfold?" Lorenzo cleared his throat, "Yes." He firmly said, raising his chin up. Bonnie only shrugged, "Alright." They went downstairs and sat on the huge leather couch. Lorenzo switched on the TV and handed the blindfold to Bonnie. "Care to help?" She smiled and took the blindfold from him. Bonnie put the blindfold over his eyes and he turned around making it easier for Bonnie to tie it.

“Hey, hey, take it easy. I won't hurt you.” Learning from how to tame his horse, Cornell gently stroked the horse when it tried to struggle because Cornell was holding the saddle. Cornell waited until the horse was completely calm first before he saw the state of the horse. From the start, Cornell had sensed something was wrong with the horse. But when Cornell looked down, he could hardly believe someone had left a trap there. One of the horse's legs was hit by the trap, so he could no longer go anywhere and turned wary of anyone who approached him.

William observed the spectators of the arena as the second match was called. The first and second pass happened without a hitch, but on the third pass, William’s side lost as their knight’s horse suddenly turned to the right as if trying to dodge something from its left peripheral. But their loss was without a total defeat. During that pass, William’s Sense traced the horse’s sight to the nobles in the arena. They located a row beneath the King’s seat and are all carrying silver goblets in their hands. When the knights passed, the nobles would all lift their drink, the sunlight reflected from their goblets and bounce back towards their targeted horse.

Quickly making work of all the buckles and straps, I froze upon noticing the silver padlock holding everything together. “Fuck, fuck, fuck! I don’t have a key to that thing.” The horses looked at one another before craning their heads towards the obstacle. I had to forcefully shove my fear down when they breathed a stream of liquid fire at the padlock, melting it into a puddle of shimmering silver. Well, that explained the muzzles. “Fire breathing horses?” I muttered under my breath as I grabbed both their leads and steered them across the busy street. “That’s so badass.”

He left without waiting for a reply. A few minutes later, Zameera stirred awake, sitting up and rubbing her eyes. “Where’s Papa now?” “He’s still inside the room, baby. I think he’s still getting his medicine.” “Why was he bleeding so much?” Her little voice trembled with curiosity and fear. I forced a soft smile, brushing her hair back. “Sometimes… when blind people’s eyes try really hard to work again, they bleed a little. It’s like they’re fighting to see. The doctors are helping that fight.”

I looked through it without planning to, the way your eyes move toward movement without being asked. The courtyard was full of horses. Dozens of them. Dark, heavy-bodied animals that looked nothing like the palace's polished white stallions. They were standing in rough rows, still and quiet, with the particular patience of creatures that had been ridden hard and were waiting to be ridden hard again. Every one of them was draped in a black covering. And on each covering, stitched in silver, was the image of a wolf's head. I stood at the window and looked at them for a moment without speaking.

Lucas felt his chest tighten. "The result of what?" "Everything Genesis has been trying to create." The stranger pointed toward the compatibility readings. "Your bond doesn't behave like an ordinary pheromone response." "It stabilizes." "It strengthens." "And most importantly..." He looked at Lucas. "...your pheromone blindness doesn't interfere with it." Lucas stared at him. "My pheromone blindness?" "Yes." "Genesis believed an Omega who couldn't perceive pheromones normally would be difficult to influence."

"What?" "I might be blind, my sweet wife, but I can hear how shallow your breathing is," Damien murmured, his lips curving into a dangerous, lazy smile. "You're suffocating in that silk. Take it off. Change into something comfortable. Pretend I’m not even here." Avery stared at him. Her eyes darted from his relaxed posture to the pitch-black sunglasses covering his eyes. He’s blind, she reminded herself, her face flushing a deep, burning crimson. He can't see a thing. To him, the room is completely dark.

Under the guise of fighting for the ball, Olivia aimed her mallet at Lindsay’s horse’s leg again. This time, Lindsay didn’t stop her. Olivia’s mallet struck the horse’s leg, causing the animal to rear up in pain. The crowd gasped, fear gripping everyone as Lindsay’s horse threatened to bolt. But Lindsay remained calm. Holding tightly to the reins, it looked like she was trying to stop the horse from panicking. The spectators watched, their hearts in their throats, waiting to see what would happen next.

My jaw clenched, and I darted toward the animals, my feet kicking up dust. Gunshots rang through the air, some of them missing me by mere feet. I wanted to stop and shoot back, but that would mean getting caught by the net. I zigged. I zagged. I dodged and duck, trying to stay out of the rain of bullets. Darting between the white horses, I crouched at their hindquarters. The net hit one of them in the face and wrapped around his head and neck. With an equine scream that made my hair stand on end, the horse blew out a stream of fire that burned the fabric to a crisp.
