Her heart was pounding, and her brain did piece together all the strange symptoms, the exhaustion, the nausea, the bizarre mood swings. It was a possibility that had never crossed her mind, and didn't let herself think about it, but now here it was again, staring her in the face like some monster too big to ignore.
God, she whispered, her shaking hand reaching once more to touch that spot on her stomach. The nausea spiked sharp and dropped her down onto the edge of the tub, eyes closed as she breathed deep to stem the rising panic inside.
