Why Is My Heart Beating In My Stomach Novels & Stories

Oh gosh, can someone clarify my feelings to him? But why does my heart beat so fast when I see him? Why do I seem to have butterflies inside my stomach when I am next to him? Why does the speed slow down my knees when he touches me? Why do I seem to melt when he stares at me? Eh, I'm not ice cream to melt. What is happening to me ?! So I just got up and left the room, I just decided to go to the garden and get some air. Maybe it will help how I feel.

My stomach drops. Stacks of cash. Wads upon wads crammed into the far corner, hidden behind clothes. My heart skips a beat, then slams against my ribs so hard it feels like it might break. This isn't just a few bills. This is thousands. I stare at it, and my hands begin to shake.

I released the breath I'd been holding unknowingly. "Shit! Why would you do something like that?" I whined as I threw myself on the bed. I must've lost my mind for a moment, because what the fuck was that? "Wh...what is this? Wh...why are you beating this fast?" I sat up and held my chest, trying to stop my heart that won't stop beating fast like it's running a marathon. "What is wrong with me?" I mumbled...

“This isn't stress.” Her heart was pounding, and her brain did piece together all the strange symptoms, the exhaustion, the nausea, the bizarre mood swings. It was a possibility that had never crossed her mind, and didn't let herself think about it, but now here it was again, staring her in the face like some monster too big to ignore. God, she whispered, her shaking hand reaching once more to touch that spot on her stomach. The nausea spiked sharp and dropped her down onto the edge of the tub, eyes closed as she breathed deep to stem the rising panic inside.

Luckily, it’s a dirt road, so the tracks are still plainly visible. But suddenly, I’m not feeling so well. It’s the strangest thing I’ve ever felt. It’s like some sort of a seed has hatched right in my stomach and is growing, but it’s not really a seed, it’s more like a rock, and it’s getting heavier and heavier very quickly. At the same time, my heartbeat feels strange. It’s beating out of rhythm and feels like it’s going to tear out of my chest. I double over from the pain and Brent pulls the SUV over and stops.

Running has become my habit. It grounds me, reminds me of monsters chasing me. My thoughts are erratic mess and so is my breathing when I step out the car. My unstable steps stumble me forward many times if it isn’t for the kind guard who stabilises me. I stand in front of our porch, catching my breath, steadying myself and press a shaky hand to my heart. Stop beating so loudly. Please, I can’t handle it. It’s too much. It’s confusing how my heart’s palpitations grow even stronger and out of beat as if it wants to escape through my chest and fall on the ground waiting for someone to step on it and crush it, so that it’d stop beating.

My stomach hurts. I look at it for too long. My heart starts to race, and each beat is louder than the one before it. My fingers wrap around the edge of the bin. Wine. I don't remember having wine here. But my body acts like it does. The room is a little off balance. It feels like the air is thick and hard to breathe. I straighten up too quickly, and the movement sends a sharp pain through my head. Then it happens. Not a memory. Not all the way.

But why did I feel like I couldn’t breathe? When the heat rose from my stomach and began to spread throughout my entire body, I grabbed my blanket and laid down again, coiling under it. What’s happening to me? I gripped the blanket tightly against my chest and closed my eyes. I could feel the heat churning in my stomach, but I felt cold at the same time, and it felt like somebody was drilling into my bones. "Call me if you experience any of the following symptoms: stomach cramps, gum itching, or pain digging into your bone."

I watch him sit up on the bed looking at me like I have grown two heads. "Who are you? And….. what are you doing in my bed?" I ask him quickly and stammer a bit. Because of the hangover, my brain is hazy now. I can't collect anything about this guy. But, My heartbeat is fast. Beating ten times faster than its normal speed. I'm feeling like I'm going to get a heart attack soon. Why is it acting like this? What happens to my heart? I watch him shuffle off the bed and walk in my direction.
