“Ye know all bout the hunger part, I’m guessin.” His guts twisted as he thought of Eddie . . . and Jones. He squirmed. It was probably his imagination, but his clothes seemed tighter than usual, his legs and arms sticking out several inches from the cuffs and sleeves. “And?” Hartley dangled the charm from its strap. “I’m guessin’ this here is an old conjure for what they used to call a ‘Wihtikow’, roughly translated as Wendigo. Some dialects even call it Ithaqua . . . ”

Dalton’s P.O.V. “Xyla said not to do anything to them, but observe them, and stop their attack on her and our people.” Henrick continued speaking through mind-link. I had moved in their direction by now. I narrowed my eyes slightly and saw three witches hiding deep inside the thick cover of leaves. They forgot that werewolves have heightened senses. Especially their nose, ears, and eyes. “How many did you notice?” I asked Henrick, deciding to play a prank on them.

Gwendolyn shrugged and said, “If Evelyn had prepared you, no mentoring would be needed.” They got to the final group and Genevieve said, “This group is different in the sense that they combine two energies together. One helps to balance the other.” The group was putting on black on black but a white symbol of a huge cross was etched in the chest of their clothes. “What energies?” Clara asked. “These are the siphoners and the darklings. The siphoners siphons magic, venom and the likes while the darklings use dark arts. However, the siphoners are there to make sure the dark arts are not corrupting the souls of the darklings. Your mentors will be Ethan Vanderbilt and Layla Hendrix.” Clara nodde

He knitted his eyebrows and he tapped Hirre's neck, wanted to know the oxygen flow of her body. After a moment of pause, Mr. Zahard looked at everyone who were waiting for his news. "King...Mr. Vermont, Hillary's power os collapsed due of the two forces that she released for summoning wolf. As the old witch doctor...the elders of the witches summon a wolves by three to four of them since they could not make it alone." The witch doctor said and it creates a thought in Mr. Vermont's mind. "Can you tell us what is the cure? I can spend my money for that." Mr. Vermont replied seemed like he was eager to do that for Hirre's safety.

The stories never really specified what happened to the witches and Hybrid wolves after that but the werewolf community hasn't heard about them for decades and so we assumed they didn't survive alone, out of the packs. But Balfour sounded like he was onto something by mentioning them. "If you heard of them, then you must know how powerful they are. Witches are powerful enough to replace scents and make them smell familiar even when they're not using dark magic." I held myself back from scoffing. Balfour sounded like he would do anything to convince me that the princess is bad news. "I don't want to assume that you're thinking Princess Ilvira made use of a witch to replace her scent with min

Hulk, the great knight of the Divine Court, had always regarded Alex as a goddess. How dare this young man from Huaxia disturb her! He immediately stepped forward to defend Alex, trying to make her feel good about him. "Hey! Do you know who you are talking to?" Before Qin Haodong could say anything, Lev stepped out to confront Hulk. He was now sure that Alex wouldn't notice his Werewolf scent as long as he was wearing the jade. For years, whenever he saw a Pontifex Maximus, he turned around and ran away. Today was the first time he had stepped forward to argue with those of the Divine Court, which made him quite excited.

Silver's laughter cut through the serene air, a sound that held a hint of something darker beneath its surface. "Oh, you have no idea, do you?" Her eyes glinted with an intensity that sent a shiver down my spine. "You underestimate what a witch can do, what I can do. I'm part wolf, part witch. Well done.” “Uh-huh. There are twenty, maybe thirty witches. Get a group of warriors over here. I can’t take them all.” “We’re on our way.” I hid behind a shrub, watching the witches laugh and joke, hearing them make flippant remarks about my kind and Willow. “Can you imagine,” one asked, “a dog as a high priestess?”

We asked the knights to give space to work and they did. Lis and Sussie used earth magic to slow it down while I used my favorite fire whirlwind to stop it. I was able to stop the armadillo but Wischard and Wyl couldn't get close to it so I stopped but it seemed like the whirlwind made it dizzy and so it uncurled itself. Wischard and Wyl immediately rushed and sliced it. Professor Xander also used wind magic to slice it. "Nice teamwork!" I said when we defeated the armadillo.
