A boy on a robe with blond curly hair, standing in the middle of the crowd, glaring. I am not afraid of some flimsy boy, I thought to myself. I let my bored eyes stared back at him as I crossed my arms. We were having a staring competition, and good thing I played this game plenty of times with my sisters, so there was no doubt I would win over this little man. And then unexpectedly, he smiled, and for the first time, I, Mathilda, the great and the trickster, lose.

Matilda ranted and unchained Eva. Eva tumbled to the floor, lifelessly. “Whatever” Raquel rolled his eyes. “Clean it now!” Matilda yelled and Raquel obeyed without any complaint. Matilda stared at Eva and thought of where to dump her. She held Eva's hand, and they vanished from the cabin. Raquel threw the shards of plate back on the floor and walked away from where she was. She went to take the book which Matilda was reading and she opened it. She was delighted later that the book was written elegantly, but she had turned it upside down. That caused her not to understand it.

Tania's POV As I emerged from the dark confines of the dungeon, Matilda's frail form leaned heavily against me. Her face was pale, etched with exhaustion and the torment she had endured during her captivity. With each step, I supported her, guiding her towards the haven of safety that awaited us—the Pack's house. The journey seemed endless, the weight of responsibility resting upon my shoulders. Matilda's breathing was labored, a testament to her weakened state. Yet, determination fueled my every stride. The Pack's house was our destination, a sanctuary where Matilda could receive the care and support she desperately needed.

As if on cue, her stomach made the sound again. She frowned and ran after him. "Hold on. Hold on. What if they come back now?" Alex asked making Matilda pause.
