Writing Your First Novels & Stories

Writing had always been a passion of mine, and I was eager to share my experiences and insights with a wider audience. My first article was a reflection on the lessons I had learned during my time as a lycanthrope. I wrote about the importance of unity, the strength of community, and the resilience of the human spirit. It was a piece that came from the heart, and the words flowed easily onto the page. The response from readers was overwhelming. Many reached out to me, sharing their own stories of adversity and triumph. It was a reminder that, no matter our circumstances, we all had the capacity for growth and transformation.

Not all of it — Marcus was still performing his slouch — but enough of it. "The one thing," she said, "is this. Every piece of writing begins with something true. Not something correct — true. Those are different. Correct is what someone else can verify. True is what you already know and have been holding back." She paused. "This class is about what you've been holding back." She nodded at the board. "That's the prompt. Ten minutes. Don't edit. Don't stop. If you don't know where to start, write the first true thing that comes to you and keep going from there."

Genuinely. This is my first book. My first story. My first time putting something out there that came from my head and my heart, and honestly? That's terrifying. It's like showing someone your diary, except you've decorated it with dragons and heartbreak and inside jokes that only make sense to you. There are going to be typos. There are going to be plot holes big enough to drive a truck through. There might be sentences that make zero sense on the first read, and characters who change personalities mid-chapter because I hadn't figured them out yet. And you know what? That's okay. Every writer starts somewhere. Every story begins as a messy, chaotic first draft that only its creator truly lo

he asked. "Trying to. Turns out writing about your own life is harder than expected. Where do I even start?" "The beginning usually works." "Which beginning? Being orphaned at three? Meeting you as a teenager? The rejection? Becoming Alpha?" "Whichever moment feels most important to who you became." I thought about that. "The rejection. Everything changed that day. Everything I built came from that moment of destruction." "Then start there. Write about that day. How it felt. What it meant. Where it led."

I picked up the journal on the table, turned to a pristine new page, and wrote the first line. [Apocalypse Year One, Day One. Weather: Clear. [I await the fading of crises and chaos, when all things wake to a rebirth.]

To my wonderful readers, Thank you so much for staying with me until the very end of this story. Your time, support, and patience mean more to me than words can fully express. This is my first book, and while it may have small errors or imperfections, it was written with deep passion and commitment. I learned a lot through this journey, and every chapter helped me grow as a writer. Your encouragement has shown me that this dream is worth pursuing. I promise to come back stronger, wiser, and better in my future projects. This is only the beginning.
