Her friends were scattered throughout the room. She took a deep breath. "Thank you all for coming," she said. "This book started as a journal. A way for me to make sense of everything that had happened. The auction. The collar. The fear. The love. I never thought anyone would read it. I never thought it would matter to anyone but me." She paused. Her voice cracked. "But it does matter. Because your stories matter. Your fears matter. Your hopes matter. You matter." The crowd applauded.

I said, grinning from teeth to teeth like a child. We walked into the library. It looked like it had been a while, since it was in use. We went through several sections which included, finance, self-improvement, ethics, business amongst all. I caught a glimpse of a book I had been wanting to read, “Atomic Habits” by James Clear. I picked it immediately, and started going through it. After a while, I noticed I wasn't hearing any sound from the cook. I looked around and found her wiping tears off her eyes with the hem of her apron.

Maverick wryly chuckled. I opened my mouth but stopped when my voice came on the screen followed by Mavericks. I slowly looked up and stared at the memory that I had buried away. The memory that broke my cold cruel heart. 'I just want you to see the universe like I do. Everything matters Ariella, it all has a purpose.' Mavericks words were mocking me. I looked away from the screen and threw fire towards it without looking. I looked down at the book that was boring. The book that I did not care about at all. All I did was rule a boring universe. This was never my life's mission. It was like for the first time in a while my eyes were open.
