(Warning this book can be read as a stand alone but has a book before it called The Goddess of wisdom and creation.) "Ariella are you ready?" My father asked for the hundred time. I could only roll my eyes. Nomatter how many times I told him I would come down when I was ready he kept coming to my bathroom door. I mean I knew I was running late but I couldn't help that I wanted to look perfect for my first day at the most sought out school in all realms. Plus I couldn't help it that my curls were nearly impossible to tame. Just looking in the mirror was giving me anxiety. The light make up I had looked perfect but it was my hair I was struggling with. "Ariella school started 10 minutes ago." My father yelled from down stairs. He sounded annoyed and that was all I needed to snap out of the never ending brushing that I was doing. I couldn't mess this up. Even though my hair was a frizzy mess because off all the brushing, I had no choice but to put my brush down. For years I had tried to convince my father to let me go to school but I was forbidden. I couldn't mess this up. You see I'm not your average Goddess. I'm far from it. When I was born I was missing one thing, my powers. Turns out before my mother died while giving birth to me, she took every drop of my power trying to save herself. So not only am I powerless but I'm also motherless. It's kind of ironic that my father was the God of Good fortune and we ended up with so much bad fortune in one day. "Ariella." My father snapped me out of my thoughts with a bang on the door. "I'm coming." I rushed out. One last glance at myself in the mirror and I was running out my perfectly organized room. I woke up hours earlier to make sure my outfit was perfect and makeup was just right. How it took me every minute to get ready was beyond me. My hair seemed to have a mind of its own and nomatter how many times I straightened it, my curls still made an appearance. It was frustrating. "25 minutes late. Maybe you should just stay home instead of going to the academy. I don't need letters sent for your tardiness." My father threatened as I ran down the stairs taking two steps at a time. The unladylike cry that I made said it all. "It won't happen again." I rushed out. I couldn't stay home any longer. I needed friends and to see more than my back yard and the inside of our two story house. My father gave me a scrutinizing look before he was sighing and shaking his head. I couldn't help the little hop from foot to foot I made. I needed this. My excitement was so thick it was probably contagious. "Let's go than." He sighed as he grabbed my arm. One last look at our simple living room was all I got before I was heading out. This was it. My new start. Butterflies filled me as I realized that I wouldn't see my father for a long time. Unlike mortals we didn't get breaks to go home. 4 years of being at the academy and no going home. Unless we had dinners at the academy or ceremonies I wouldn't get to hug my father or laugh with him for a long time. Would I remember my very pink room and bright white bathroom? Or would I forget the way my father's eyes crinkled when he was happy even though he was a God and wasn't suppose to have any wrinkles. Would I remember the bright smile he gave me every time I remembered something he taught me? "Are you okay because we are here?" He whispered pulling me out of my second guessing thoughts. It would be fine. I wanted and needed this. I looked up to a huge white and golden building. "Its only one building?" I asked in astonishment instead of answering his question. How could I, I was far from okay. The pillers that were at the front entrance were huge. The building looked as big as a mortal football field. It was big but was it big enough? "It's magically infused. It's bigger in the inside. You'll love it." He stated as he dragged me forward towards the big double doors. It seemed like he had turned around and was more excited about this transition. His eyes twinkled as he looked at the building that looked more like a government building than a school. The excitement I felt earlier was replaced with fear and anticipation. I dragged my feet slowly as we walked up the the building steps that seemed to get bigger the more we ascended the steps. My father had to teleport us up half way up. Did they not account for Gods that didn't have powers? I mean yes I was one of the only Goddesses born without but there were also God's who lost their powers because of breaking laws. I heard the laws here were strict and the high king was brutal and unforgiving. Never in existence did dark rule until the high king took over everything the moment he killed his wife. He was ruthless and my father said he was not one to be crossed. If I seen him I was to go the other way. I definitely would be taking his warning to heart. "Ready." My dad broke me out my thoughts again. I definitely had to get use to paying more attention. The huge door opened before I could reach for the handle. My eyes went big as I looked through the doors. When my father said it was amazing he wasn't lying. Anticipation took over completely as I looked at the open courtyard with green grass that was a radiant dark green. The buildings that scattered all around were a whitish gray and made this school yard look older than it was. The high king had this created alittle after I was born. So it was no more than 18 years old.Hector's pov "What if I can't rewind time?" Maverick asked as he pointed his knife towards Alexander Jr. "Than that means you aren't powerful enough to be ruler." Alexander Jr. said without showing any fear. Maverick chuckled as he used his powers to have his knife floating in the air. "So I'll be the only one with magic if I can't go back in time?" He asked wryly. I cursed Christopher for the bad fortune he sent our way because there's no way Maverick could be this lucky without his fortune and our misfortune. "All magic will go away if Ariella doesn't wake up soon." Klaus stated in a matter of fact tone. "So I'm the only hope." Maverick stated with a wry tone. All I felt was dread and regret. Yes, Alexander was dangerous, but he also was reckless, which gave us hope. Maverick, on the other hand, was far from reckless. He spent 100s of years watching Alexander and Ariella. while never showing himself until it was necessary. Alexander would've never been able to stay away
Mavericks Pov I looķed over at Alexander and chuckled darkly. "I guess you guys couldn't wait until my son is brought back to life." I said with a bite at the end. Maybella looked up at me with glossy eyes that had me grinding my teeth together. I looked away from her and over to Alexander. "Heal my son now." I ordered. Alexander lazily looked over towards me with lust filled eyes that had me narrowing my eyes. When he looked down at Maybella and completely ignored me, I lost it. I grabbed maybellas' hair and pulled her off of him. "Fuck that hurt." Alexander said. "I didn't mean to." Maybella said quickly. "Do you like getting your hair pulled?" I asked because I had grabbed her hair tightly, and she didn't make a sound. Slowly she blushed making me narrow my eyes. I didn't have time for another goddess. "Fix my son and wife. " I ordered again. Still he ignored me completely. I looked at maybella in a warning that she didn't take seriously. "Tell him to revive my s
Hector's pov "My mom only wants you because you betrayed my father.' Alexander Jr. exclaimed, causing me to groan internally. I kept my mouth shut even though I wanted to tell everyone that Ariella belonged to Noone. "I thought she wanted me because of how good i made her feel compared to your father. " Maverick said with a wry smirk.. "I will kill you." Alexander Jr. growled as he stood up." Mia was quick to grab him by his collar before he made ths situation worse. "Let me go." Alexander Jr. demanded. "No, you are to go home." Mia said sternly, earning a death stare from Alexander Jr. "Im not a baby, and you will stop treating me like one.." Alexander Jr. demanded as he shrugged her away. "Until dad gets better, you are to listen to me." She said confidently. "I'm not listening to you." Alexander Jr said. "You have no choice since I'm going to be the new ruler. Mia declared. "The throne is to be mine."Alexander Jr growled. You are too immature to rule." Mia sang. "Yo
Hector's pov "Kill them now." Maverick roared within seconds of his son and Ariella collapsing onto the floor. I stood frozen as I stared at the hole in Mavericks sons chest. "What have you done." Zavier yelled with what sounded like helplessness. I turned my attention back to Blake and instantly stiffened as I stared at the heart that was in his bloody hand. "I didn't do anything that dad would be upset about. Anyways, mom isn't a prisoner. It's about time everyone here remembers that." Blake spit out as he squeezed the heart until it burst. Blood splattered onto Mavericks clothes, causing him to look down before slowly looking up at Blake with eyes that were full of hate and deadly promises. "I said kill them now." Maverick ordered again. "Daddy, you have to get healers to help my brother and mom." Mia said softly. Alexander gave a nod, and within seconds, healers were teleporting in. "Heal her."Alexander ordered them with a lot of aggression"What about my brother?" Mia
Hector The God of light Wisdom and creations Pov "Of course I'm still taking you." Christopher stated wryly. I gritt my teeth as I chuckled a self mocking chuckle. "Well than it's settled, I'm going on a vacation." Ariella sang gleefully. I said nothing even though every part of me wanted to yell at her to open up her eyes. Unfortunately I could do nothing with her here because the last thing I needed to do was release my anger before she left and cause the darkness in her to consume her. Once she left though I would fight even if it killed me. I knew that it was reckless but I had to do something. We had more Gods on our side now that Maverick betrayed Alexander. I opened my eyes and looked over at Alexander. The way he was looking at Maybella with lust and love filled eyes told me that if we didn't act soon he would be lost forever. He had to be able to fight the control Maverick had on him. There was no way he was not powerful enough to beat it. He had Ariella's powe
Hector The God of light wisdom and creations Pov Ariella's cheeks instantly turned red as she took in Zains words. I didn't even have to guess to know that Maverick taught him everything he needed to know in order for them to rule for an eternity. I wanted to believe that Ariella would listen and take our words to heart but I knew that she was too lost in the love Maverick somehow got her to feel. Still I could not just give up so without thinking things through I slowly spoke. "Maverick tortured you too Ariella, he helped break you for years. He helped trick you into falling back in love with Alexander or do you not remember that?" Slowly the darkness that seemed to be consuming her showed in her eyes. Maverick leaned over towards her and whispered something in her ear that I knew was against me. "You are consumed in darkness mom, you are just too lost too see what he's doing to you." Blake snapped aggressively. I balled up my fists and gritt my teeth because Blake was re
