The place still smelled faintly of burned circuitry and antiseptic and rain that had got in where the ceiling failed. In the middle of it all, an office chair sat like a throne a child had dressed for a play—duct tape strapping two men back to back and hip to hip, ankles lashed to the chair’s base. Rebecca's POV ​Zarek didn't seem frightened in the slightest. Instead, he took another commanding step forward, a smug, confident smirk tugging at the corner of his lips that made Enzo’s grip on me tighten to a painful degree. ​"Do your findings, Alpha Enzo," Zarek challenged, his voice dripping with smooth, unbothered arrogance.
