Charles Samantha and I take our seats in a booth. A tall, strawberry blonde, curvy woman named Michelle comes by to take our orders. Michelle stands too close, and her eyes linger longer than they need to while taking our order. I see by the look on Samantha’s face that she has noticed as well.

The code was clear: H-U-L-L--S-P-L-I-T-T-I-N-G. C-O-L-E--D-O-W-N. L-E-O--N-O-T--B-R-E-A-T-H-I-N-G. T-H-E--I-R-O-N--K-I-N-G--I-S--A-T--T-H-E--D-O-O-R.

Darling: [Baby, when are you going to confront that arrogant heir? Leah: [After I get the last bit of money, we'll run away together.] Darling: [Timothy's a fool. He really thinks you love him so much.] The chat history ended with a message from my account. Leah: [Don't worry. Everything's going according to plan.] This meticulously fabricated record attempted to pin my death entirely on a dirty deal involving an unfair division of spoils. Looking at the phrase ‘everything's going according to plan’ in the screenshot, my soul trembled violently. The painful memory I had been desperately suppressing flooded my mind instantly.

Vivian quickly wrapped herself in a coat and put on the pitiful expression of a victim. "Stella, you really misunderstood. How am I supposed to live after you barged in like that? I might as well die." Her sugary manipulation made my stomach turn. I picked up the knife on the table and held it out to her. "Go ahead." Vivian stared at the knife with tearful grievance, but she did not move. In the next second, a tremendous force shoved me forward. By momentum, the knife plunged straight into my abdomen. The blade seemed to tear into my insides.

Mrs Smith ordered and they all picked their guns and started arranging it. When they were done, they got it ready to shoot at all the fruits tied high up in front of them. "If you miss the fruit in front of you, no more mission for you!" Mrs Smith said. "Now shoot!" She commanded. They all raised their guns, aimed at the fruits and shot at the fruits at the same time. Skyler's bullet hit the wall and didn't touch his fruit.

Malakai laid out scenarios for her. “My stitches won't open so easily.” She said and dodged the question. “What if they did? Or, what if the person with the knife successfully stabs you, very close to the wound you already have, that creates a deep gash, your stitches open and you're losing twice as much blood. And you're so weak you can reach for your phone.” Malakai said with a stone cold face making Eden glare at him. “You’re an ass, you know that.” Eden said and with one final glare, left the office.

"If it's not inconvenient, may I come in?" Stunned, Hiya found herself nodding in agreement. The stranger crossed the threshold, and Hiya, eager to extend hospitality, ushered her into the living room. The clash of two worlds, one subdued and colorless, the other vibrant and mysterious, unfolded as they embarked on an unexpected encounter. Hiya, in her simple act of offering water and arranging tea, unknowingly began a chapter that held the promise of change, injecting a splash of intrigue into her otherwise dull existence.
