Alpha Ellison.

I stood by the window of my study and just stared into space. My fists clenched at my sides, I was still trying to fathom everything that had happened in the last few hours.

The truth had finally come out.

The room was quiet save for the soft ticking of the grandfather clock and the distant calls of the palace staff. I turned away from the view, jaw tight, and paced the floor. The doctors had admitted it. They confessed how lady calantha had paid them handsomely to lie about the DNA test results. All orchestrated by Lady Calantha, the once-revered Luna Dowager.

She had tampered with Lucy’s pregnancy report… and the DNA results.

I remember the moment as clearly as if it were happening now. The trembling doctor, wringing his hands, couldn’t meet my eyes.

“She… threatened our families, Alpha,” he whispered, sweat beading along his temple. “And offered us wealth we couldn’t refuse. She said no one would believe a loss breeder so our job will be easier.”

A low growl rumbled

Aurora. The search had taken longer than I ever anticipated.Trekking through the dense forest felt like it would never end. Each step was heavier than the last, not just from exhaustion, but from the growing realization that this wasn’t just any forest—it was a place reserved for outlaws and the disgraced. And yet, given my mother’s complicated past, I wasn’t shocked to find her here. Troubled, yes, but not surprised."Are you certain she’s close?" I asked one of the guards beside me. He looked sickly, pale with dread, though he tried his best to keep up appearances. I could see clearly he wanted to be anywhere but here."Yes, my lady," he answered, his tone firm but his eyes betraying the anxiety beneath. "We should be very near."I was about to press him further when I saw her.My heart slammed against my chest as I pushed through a curtain of branches into a clearing. There my mother was, crumpled near the riverbank. A groan of pain escaped her lips. My chest tightened as I rushed

Lucy.I couldn’t feel my legs anymore. Each step I forced through the dense forest felt like dragging stone limbs, my muscles screaming in resistance. Hours had slipped by since I’d started running, clutching the twins close, their small bodies pressed against me like fragile secrets. All I could do was run. Flee from the past. Flee from them. I knew the moment anyone caught a glimpse of the babies in my arms, it would be over. They’d be taken. Sold off.For a long stretch of time, the twins were quiet. Their soft, rhythmic breathing became the only sound keeping me anchored. But as the orange tint of sunset bled through the trees, that stillness shattered—broken by their piercing cries. Their wails were sharp and desperate, slicing through the forest like sirens.“Shhh... it’s alright,” I whispered frantically, my voice brittle and uneven. I glanced around wildly, heart pounding. “Please, please stop crying,” I begged them, but their screams only rose higher, more frantic.I stumbled

Aurora.Someone was calling my name. It was faint, like a breeze rustling through leaves, barely distinguishable from the silence. It pulled at me, fragile and distant, like the fading echo of a dream. I didn’t want to respond. I just wanted to stay in the void, where everything was quiet. But the voice came again, clearer this time, more urgent. With great effort, my eyelids fluttered open. They felt impossibly heavy. Pain surged through my chest as my memories came roaring back, jumbled and chaotic.Kaidan. The basement.Everything came crashing down at once, suffocating me with its intensity. My body trembled under the weight of the past few hours. I hadn’t meant to collapse, I just couldn’t bear anymore. The terror, the panic, the sheer emotional exhaustion had pushed me past my limit.I blinked against the brightness as I opened my eyes fully, the ceiling light glaring down at me. Every muscle ached, and it felt like I’d been hit by something massive. My pulse thundered in my ear

Ivy.At long last.I couldn't pretend that being the orchestrator behind the scenes thrilled me, but there was an undeniable satisfaction in knowing that the power I craved, my fate was finally within reach. The pack lock wasn’t just a tool of control; it was a symbol of my authority. I had waited patiently, biding my time, and now was the moment to act.I unlocked my phone and scrolled to the contact I had been avoiding for weeks, King Ellison. The sight of his name alone made my stomach tighten, but I pushed aside the hesitation and hit "call." The dial tone rang in my ear, each beat winding the tension in my chest a little tighter.“Hello?” His voice cut through, low and clearly annoyed. He had no clue what was about to hit him.“King Ellison,” I said smoothly, voice composed. “Don’t tell me you’ve erased your mistress’s number. Naughty of you. But let’s not waste time. I’ll be blunt—I have the pack lock.”I could hear the way he inhaled sharply, then went quiet. Whether it was dis

Aurora.Twelve long hours had dragged by since my mother left the palace, and there was still no word from her. Not a whisper, not a sign. Her room sat cloaked in a suffocating stillness that was driving me mad. Even with how furious I was at her, the silence gnawed at my nerves. What if something had gone wrong? I found myself pacing endlessly, stealing glances out the window, hoping—desperately—that she'd appear somewhere in the distance. But the landscape never shifted. The early morning light began to stretch across the horizon, painting eerie shadows along the palace hallways. The unease twisting in my stomach only tightened. My thoughts drifted, as they always did now, to Kaidan. He was the only person I yearned to see. As for my mother—who knew what dark intentions she was concocting? I tried to pause, to center myself, to slow the frantic beating of my heart. I couldn’t afford panic. I knew it would affect my child. But neither could I just sit and watch the hours pass, helple

LucyThe reek of grime clung stubbornly to my skin as I scrubbed the final corner of the toilet, my fingers red and throbbing with pain. Hunger gnawed at my insides, but I’d long since taught myself to ignore it. There was never enough food for someone like me. My body begged for rest, but my mind was far too restless to allow it.I staggered back toward the slave quarters, my limbs dragging, when the low murmur of voices caught my attention. A cluster of women had gathered near the back wall, huddled together in hushed conversation. Gossip, their favorite pastime.“Did you hear?” one whispered urgently. “The twins are gone.”My heart lurched.“What do you mean, gone?” another asked, her tone trembling with fear.“I overheard the guards,” the first woman replied. “They were supposed to be in the crib, but they weren’t there. No one knows if they were kidnapped or... sold. But you should’ve seen the king’s face—he was livid when he found out.”“Who would’ve guessed those babies were hi
