Lisa's POV
I struggled against my bonds as I was roughly dragged by one of the goons as we went to the palace. I couldn't believe that this was happening. I had been captured by the werewolves after all despite my best attempts. They had learnt their lessons the hard way so my hands were tied behind stopping me from using my powers to escape. They all must have looked an intimidating sight to anyone watching judging from their appearance. The sentinels around must have never heard of shirts as their upper bodies were bare leaving their well defined muscles to all and sundry. In a different world I would have swooned at the sight of all these hot male bodies around me. The brazen show of bodies was something that creatures like the vampires wouldn't do. They more much too noble and proud to behave barbaric. At least in public. When outside, their lords affected a gentlemanly air around them that could fool the unwary. I was pulled out of my thoughts roughly as I stumbled and fell on the rough stones that filled the woods. I grazed my knees as I was pulled up rather roughly by my captor. Ahead of us, the Alpha grumbled aloud and told us to increase our pace. For a strange reason, I felt attracted to the Alpha. It was as if something was pulling me to him. There was the issue where he had called me mate but that certainly was a mistake. Maybe I reminded him of someone he had lost. Things had taken a turn when he held me by the neck demanding explanations. There was the sound of a whistle being blown and I saw that our surroundings had evened out to a flater landscape. We were out of the woods. Despite myself, I was impressed with the sight of the castle as it rose up from the mist like some ghostly spectre. I sighed with relief when we got closer and I saw the gates. It had been a long trek and my limbs were aching already. I reckoned that it wouldn't be long till dawn. All I could think of was a warm bed. "The palace is this way, where are we going to," I asked in surprise as I noticed that we weren't going through the gates but had diverted to a windy path on our left. There was no answer from any of them at my words. Instead some of the guards left us and headed back to the woods. Their perfect synchrony without speaking made me pause and realise that the Alpha must have given them instructions through the mind link. I knew this because i had read books on werewolves while growing up. The path led to a stony dark cave that seemed to lead underground. Without breaking in their strides, the rest of the guards all went in lowering their heads as they did so. I was pushed in too and narrowly missed bumping my head on the low ceiling. My chains along the stony ground was the only sound amongst us as we walked on. We came to a stop among a row of doors that looked suspiciously like prison cells. The Alpha gestured for me to be brought forward and with the aid of a lighted torch, we both entered a rather spacious cell. I was pushed to the ground while he hovered above me. I knew it was an intimidation tactic so I wasn't fazed by it. After a brief talk between them, the rest of the wolves left us too. The Alpha and I were now alone which didn't seem like a good idea as I saw his hostile eyes piercing into me and I felt small and dirty under his intense gaze. I was scared to be alone with him as I felt his aura becoming overwhelming. "I missed a really good party to be here so start talking now. For starters, what's your name." He said coldly. "Lisa Adrian," I replied back quickly. His tone showed that he wouldn't tolerate any argument. I knew how men could get when exasperated. "What are you, apart from the filth on you, you don't have a scent which means you're not a wolf. You don't seem like a vampire either. My best bet is that you're a witch." I winced a little at his sharp words. I realized how bedraggled I must look to him. My mind raced, contemplating how much I should reveal. The truth could be my only ally in this dark situation. "I am a vampire," I said, meeting the Alpha's intense gaze with a mixture of defiance and fear. I gulped and looked down when he matched my stare without blinking. "But I mean no harm. I'm not a threat to your pack or your territory. Your men caught me when I mistakenly strayed into your territory." He scrutinized me, his eyes searching for any signs of deception. The tension in the air thickened as I waited for his reaction. After what felt like an eternity, he finally spoke. "You were running in the middle of the night when you were caught. Who were you running away from?," I twirled my fingers behind me wondering if it was safe to tell him the truth. For all I know, it could start a war between two factions. I looked up at him to see that he was still waiting expectantly. "Lord Alireza Firouzja," I finally said. I heard him take a sharp intake of breath at my words. It was clear that the news affected him however much he tried not to show it. "Hmmm. You mean he's close here. What business does he have with you in the first place?," "I'm his daughter," I said ashamed of saying it aloud. Lord Alireza had never played a fatherly role in my life despite seeding me. "What wouldn't old Alireza give to get his daughter back" He said aloud to himself with a chuckle. From the look on his face, I knew that he was thinking of how he could play this to his advantage. As Alpha and vampire lord, they were both natural enemies and the stakes would definitely be high. "If you're thinking of using me as a bargaining chip, you can forget about it. He wouldn't care less about what happens to me. I'm his illegitimate daughter, he'll be happy that I'm gone." "Bastard daughter or not. What proper father will let his daughter die like that. I'm curious as to why you ran away from your clan in the first place." "I was locked up in the dungeons. I escaped the first chance I got. It was all going well before your men caught me." I said throwing him a dirty look. "But where were you running to?," He asked, ignoring my looks. "You don't look like you know your way around this side." "I was going to go to Anver. I don't really remember my mother but i heard it was her hometown. My relatives would be there too so I won't be stranded." "Why did your father lock you up in the first place. You must have really annoyed him." "Nothing serious, I was naturally rebellious and according to him caused him great embarrassment so his idea of punishing me was to lock me up for weeks to teach me a lesson. I got tired of it and with the help of a servant, i planned my escape from my cell. I could see him wrestling with himself. "What do you feel when you look at me," He suddenly burst out startling me with the abrupt direction this had taken and I felt color creep along my cheeks. "What do I feel? Anger for one, you're holding me captive here," I said trying t appear composed as I gestured with my chin to the chains on my hands. "Not that," He said waving away my words. "This must be new to you but do you feel a sort of strong attraction to me." "Yes i have but I didn't know what to make of it, you said something aloud when you held me up against that tree…" "It's called a mate bond, that was my wolf then acknowledging you as his mate." He said then paused for a while before he continued. "That shouldn't be possible though since you're a vampire. Marriage between races have certainly been done before but I've never heard of the moon goddess making interracial species as mates. For one, the moon goddess dont like the practice of drinking blood." "Uhmm…about that, there is something I haven't yet told you." I said interrupting him. "What's that?," He asked, his eyes narrowing at me. "I don't get blood urges so I don't drink blood." I said with my head lowered as I tried to fight the memories of all the times I had been mocked by others because of it. "That's very strange but it sounds good, why do you seem ashamed of it though?." "Because it's an anomaly among the vampires. That's the main reason my father doesn't want me. Apart from a blood fighting technique I have , I can't do any of the things other vampires do so I'm shunned there." "You're an outcast then, I'm afraid you'll also face that here," He said and I could see that he didn't sound sorry at all. If anything, it was detached and cold as he walked out of the door "Please don't leave me here. I'll get far from this place as possible if you let me go. You won't hear from me again." "I can't do that. You're now important to me," He said as he jangled the cell keys in his hands and banged the iron door shut. I heard the metallic creak of a key being turned and I knew that I was locked in. "Let me out," I said banging against the cell door. My blows rang hollow and my pleas were unanswered as I heard the rapidly fading footsteps of the Alpha walking away. I slumped to the cold ground in defeat as I realized that i had gone from one cell to another in less than a day. After the events of that fateful night—the night that he witnessed Alicia’s betrayal—Billy only had one thought.… To make Alicia his no matter what.He abandoned his principles and any last shreds of dignity. The self-control that held him back snapped, and now that he was unhinged, he could finally see the light.Billy knew what had to be done.He reached out to Evals Redart, and they both struck a deal.He would lure Alicia to the agreed-upon location, and that was where the deed would take place. The only reason he was successful was due to the effects of the ring he had on his right finger—The Ring of Deceit. All he had to do was touch Alicia with it once, and he would be able to transform into whoever she trusted most.Earlier that day, he took the first step of his plan and brushed past her, using the ring to touch her skin. She noticed it instantly and shot him a disgusted look, but Billy knew it was only because she was confused. She misunderstood his intentions.‘This is all
‘I-Is that really Rey…?’Alicia's shock was clear as day when she saw Rey's aggressive scowl. She couldn’t hide it anymore.“GET UP! DON’T TRY TO PLAY THE VICTIM ANYMO—!”“That’s enough!” Alicia yelled out, her eyes staring daggers at Rey.“A-ah, Alicia, don’t mind me. I’m just telling this—”“Save it. I don’t want to hear anything from you…” Rey attempted to explain, but Alicia wasn't having it. She raised her hand and walked past him, completely ignoring his lame excuse.Approaching the waitress, Alicia knelt beside her, gently taking hold of her trembling hands“It’s fine, don’t worry. I’m not mad at you.” The lady seemed immensely surprised by Alicia’s kindness, and even Rey appeared stunned from behind her. However, Alicia had no further business with him.“Please stand up.” She helped the waitress up, and after they both rose to their feet, she nodded and smiled even more broadly.“You made a mistake. It happens. Maybe take the rest of the day off,” she suggested kindly.Sinc
“U-uhh…”Alicia let out a groan as she slowly blinked her eyes open. The room around her was covered in darkness, and her vision struggled to clear the blur. The combination of darkness and her bleary sight made everything a chaotic mess. Her whole body ached and with each movement, her head pounded. Even the simple act of opening her eyes felt like a chore due to the pain that radiated throughout her body.“You’re… awake… huh?” A familiar voice asked, coming from somewhere close by.Though she couldn’t make out the face, she recognized the familiar voice instantly.“B-Billy…?” Her voice was barely a whisper, her throat feeling like it was on fire with each word. Her discomfort made it hard to focus on anything else.‘What happened? Why am I here? Where is this place? Why is Billy—?’Just as Alicia was about to piece together her thoughts, fragments of recent memories flooded her mind. She remembered how Rey approached her in the library, and how they went to a shady shop. And then…
‘S-something came up…?!’As Rey stared into Adonis’ eyes, he could tell that something was terribly wrong. An expression of concern swept through his face and it felt like anxiety was welling up within him. Before Rey realized it, his heart began to race.“Am I in trouble again?” He asked, a bead of sweat forming on the side of his face.“A-ah! No! No! This is something else. You’ll understand once you come with me. Everyone is waiting…”Adonis had never lied to Rey before—at least not to his knowledge. There was no reason to think he was doing so now, but Rey knew he couldn’t be too sure. After a few seconds of internal debate, Rey decided that his best option was to go with Adonis and see what was going on.‘I’ve not done anything wrong or suspicious lately, right? Or could it be another scheme by the mastermind of last time…?’Rey shrugged off his problematic thoughts and left his position, carrying the book he was reading in his hand without realizing it.“Don’t you need to return
“I was only ever interested in one, but when I realized he was a jerk, I cut ties with him.”Alicia then speculated that the senior’s bruised ego might have driven him to spread rumors about her. However, Alicia’s reputation was solid enough that people mostly interpreted it as her casually dating seniors—nothing more, nothing less.Rey's surprise was evident as he muttered, “Oh, wow. I never imagined it was like that.” He turned to Alicia, who simply shrugged in response.“Things aren’t always what they seem. If we listen to everyone’s opinions and don’t take time to form our own, we’ll just end up drowning in misinformation.”Rey thought about Alicia's words, finding them surprisingly insightful, yet he struggled to express his thoughts without seeming cheesy.“That's actually quite smart.” He finally settled on the most neutral way to put it."I know, right?" Alicia replied, her hand playfully sweeping back her long hair as she chuckled, trying to act like a wise diva."Pfft!" Rey
Silence. That was what came first.Suffocating, overwhelming silence, that settled deep into the minds of those who were witnessing what the fallen ones saw. Then, when the silence had stretched thin, horror followed. In the darkness of the Royal Dungeon, the fallen heroes could only helplessly watch as an overwhelming shadow loomed over them. The silhouette of a massive monstrosity that radiated nothing but sheer malevolence. This would be their first encounter with such a being. And from the looks of it… it was fated to be their last. *******[Several Days Earlier]A few days had passed since the entire incident with Adonis.Everyone was initially horrified and perplexed by what they saw, but after Adonis collapsed before them—barely breathing as he explained the situation—they could all understand better. It seemed one of their own—Adam Sanchez—had plotted to kill Adonis. His Skill reacted in instinctive self-defense and killed Adam before the Hero could tell what was happening.A
