"There must be some error; I did not commit this act. There has been a misunderstanding," Steven implored.

One of the officers delivered a resounding slap to Steven and declared, "You are under arrest, and you have the right to remain silent, as anything you say or do may be used against you in a court of law."

Despite his pleas, the officers forcibly escorted Steven out of the house and transported him to the police station. Ethan waited patiently until the police had taken Steven away before emerging from his hiding place.

"Oh, I am now relieved; this is merely the beginning of my retribution against Steven. I must leave before anyone notices me here," Ethan mused.

In contrast, the police summoned an ambulance, which arrived to transport the corpse.

Ethan feigned ignorance of the events and contacted Angela, informing her not to come to his house. Instead, he would visit her residence, as he was already dressed. She agreed, and he departed to her home, and they went to spend ti

wealthy boyfriend who provides for all your needs," Cynthia explained. Angela rose and asked, "That reminds me, was the video you sent me orchestrated solely to terminate my relationship with Ethan?" "No, Angela, that video was genuine and not a setup," Cynthia admitted. "What have I done to deserve such treatment from you? Why would you wish for me to remain stagnant? Do you not realise that if I succeed in life and attain wealth, it reflects positively on you as well?" Angela asked, her voice filled with anguish. Cynthia was left speechless and pleaded, "I am truly sorry, Angela. I was simply envious of you for having found someone who is both wealthy and loves you, while I remain in a dull relationship that is leading nowhere. However, I have recently come to recognise my mistakes; please find it in your heart to forgive me and regard me as you once did." Angela found herself shedding tears unexpectedly. Despite everything Cynthia had said, she still regarded her as her closes

I am not concealing anything from you." "If that is the case, is Ethan on leave? It has been some time since I last saw him at work," Cynthia inquired. Angela coughed, hesitated, and asked, "I... I... I... I do not understand; what are you referring to?" "Well, I have not seen Ethan at work for several months, which is why I wish to know if he is on leave," Cynthia insisted. "My goodness, are you spying on my boyfriend!" Angela exclaimed in disbelief. "No, I am not; could you please lower your voice?" Cynthia requested. "Ah, and why should I lower my voice? Allow me to ask you something: if you are not spying on my boyfriend, how do you know it has been a while since he went to work?" Angela countered. "Because I frequently see him either at a bar or a cyber café, and his attire has become rather unkempt. Additionally, I have not seen him drive his car in a long time; he is always walking or taking a taxi. Thus, I wanted to confirm whether he is still employed, which is

"You could have given me a heads-up about your visit; I trust I did not keep you waiting?" Angela queried promptly. Cynthia sighed, "Not at all." "Please, take a seat," Angela invited courteously. Cynthia rolled her eyes and settled in, crossing her legs. "What brings about this unexpected visit?" Angela asked with curiosity. "Nothing; I merely wanted to surprise you," Cynthia replied. "How lovely! But what would you like?" Angela inquired. "Nothing, I am fine," Cynthia responded, though Angela noticed a hint of distress. "My dear friend, are you alright?" Angela asked with concern. "Yes, I am. Why do you ask?" Cynthia retorted. "Your tone seems rather irritable and distant, which is not characteristic of the Cynthia I know," Angela explained. Cynthia then admitted, "Alright, you are correct; I am indeed upset, and it is your fault." "I fail to understand. What are you referring to?" Angela asked, bewildered. "Oh, you do not understand? Let me ask you this: are we experie

She invested her time and made certain the food was exquisite, and I was present while she cooked, so I observed her process," Ethan chuckled as he elucidated. "Wait a moment, are you implying that it was your parents who requested her to cook for them?" Alfie asked quickly. "Yes, my mother did, and I knew she was assessing Angela's culinary skills. However, Angela recognised this and agreed to prepare the meal, successfully passing the test with her delicious dish," Ethan explained. "Hmm, but why would your parents want Angela to cook for them? Did you say anything to them?" Alfie probed. Ethan sat on the bed and replied, "Indeed, I did. I mentioned to them that I was contemplating proposing to Angela before the fabricated issue with my bank that lasted three months." "Oh, I understand now; that is why they wished to meet her and asked you not to infor

we have tasted it. And do remember, she is laughing out loud due to our son’s influence." "Nevertheless, I shall reserve my judgement until I have sampled her cooking," Mr. Ronald stated. An hour later, Angela completed the preparation of the meal and served Ethan's parents. She then whispered to Ethan, "I hope they will enjoy it." Ethan tasted the food and replied, "Enjoy it? They will absolutely love it!" When Ethan's parents finally tasted the dish, they were indeed impressed by its quality. "Wow, I had a feeling this meal would be extraordinary. You are truly an excellent chef," Mr. Ronald complimented as he savoured the food slowly. "Thank you very much, sir. I appreciate it," Angela responded gratefully. Mrs. Ronald interjected, "Mm, this dish is truly exceptional; it is utterly delicious, Angela." Angela blushed and replied, "Thank you, ma’am." Ethan embraced her and whispered, "I told you they would love it, didn’t I?" "Indeed, you did," Angela acknowledged. "Let us

"Indeed," Ethan confirmed. "Now, what if I had disregarded your advice regarding modest dress?" Angela queried. "Ha ha, that scenario would not have transpired, as I know you would have understood the subtle hint I was conveying and would have dressed appropriately," Ethan laughed. "Hehe, you seem to understand me very well. You were correct; I did pick up on the signal, as it was unusual for you to request modest attire, which led me to suspect something was amiss. I certainly did not want to jeopardise the situation," Angela giggled as she explained. "I knew you would not falter; however, I hope my mother was not overly harsh during your conversation," Ethan questioned. "Not at all. I was unaware she was your mother as she did not introduce herself. I am grateful that I did not respond rudely, for she began questioning me as soon as I entered, which did provoke me at times, but I managed to contain my frustration," Angela admitted. Ethan could not contain his laughter. "Ha ha
