Ash/annie pov

"Oh, good you finally came down, you're going to be late. You move like a turtle," Mom said as I kissed her and Dad's cheeks before sitting down. It's just the three of us here, so it's not really crowded.

"No good morning, Ma? Just a scolding? Anyway, do you have work today?" I asked Dad while stuffing rice into my mouth. He looked at me, then turned his attention back to his food.

"Yes, honey. The son of the bank owner where I work, Cyrus, you remember him? He's back, and there's a welcome party. They want us to go," Dad said, looking at me while I just kept eating, not caring if I finished the food.

And who cares about that guy? We're not close, you know!

That jerk owes me one.

He even brought a gift. Tsk.

"Ha, what about my classes? I have school today. I don't want to be absent. You two can go. And you know me too well, I.don't.like.parties." I said, my beautiful eyebrows furrowed as I looked at the wall. They already know that, but they still think that just because that guy is back, I'll change my mind? No way!

I won't beg him to remember me. I'm not losing anything.

"I know, honey. I was just answering your question," Dad said, being sarcastic. I wonder who I got that from, jeez.

"Hmmm? How's school, Annie?" Mom asked me curiously, looking at me seriously. Mom is a kind but strict person. She's always been grade conscious.

"As usual, Ma, nothing new." Don't go too far, I'm just going to follow you, oh, beautiful lady, charootttt. Just kidding.

"Okay, Ma, I'm going now. Be careful, you two. I might be late." I said goodbye, standing up. I was done eating and went to them, kissing them on the cheek. I have school today. Ugh, if only I could skip school.

"Okay, be careful," Dad said.

"They'll take care of me," I said, winking at Dad.

And so I left and rode a tricycle because my handsome father couldn't drive me. And my cousins were busy with their girlfriends. I'm not that picky to take a taxi to school. Besides, a tricycle is better, it's not attention-grabbing.

When I reached the school gate, Brandon, Eddy, Trisha, Jomar, Blue, and Lisa greeted me. If you're wondering why there are so many guys, well, it's me, duh?

I don't want to be friends with the girls here. They're too dramatic. Not all of them, I just don't like the ones who are too pretentious. And I can't handle the personalities of other girls here. I think you know what I mean.

"Oh, Ash? Good morning." Trisha greeted me with a hug. Sometimes they're sweet, but most of the time, they're annoying.

"Hey! Don't hug me, Trisha. I can feel your boobs, you girl," I said annoyed, and they all laughed. These jerks are teasing me again, yawaaaaa.

"Trisha, you're not used to this tomboy," Brandon said laughing. I lightly punched his arm. Idiot. They think I'm just a tomboy? Well, I'm a beautiful tomboy.

"You're the one who should be hugged like that. Well, she's your girlfriend, you're a horny bastard." I said, punching him again lightly. They're too PDA, they have a love life, after all.

"Ouch, Ash, what's wrong with your hand?" He stopped talking when I answered him.

"It's a hand, Bran. You think it's a foot?" I shouted at him.

"You're such a smartass. Your hand is like steel, it hurts when you punch. Are you even a girl?" He said laughing at me. Is it my fault that I have a strong punch?

Well, I took self-defense classes, so I can't help it if I use it unconsciously.

"Jerk," I said to him.

"Okay, let's go, or Abo Brandon will beat you up." Jomar said, trying not to laugh, while Trisha pulled Brandon away from me.

They're so mean, huh?

They're not even real friends!

We walked down the hallway, and as usual, people were staring at us. Those dramatic girls are into the ugly guys with me. They think they're handsome. Their heads are getting too big because of all the attention. I can't stand the craziness of the girls on campus.

I mean, it's okay to have a crush, but don't let your soul hang out.

If someone really likes you, they'll love you even if you're the ugliest person. You don't need makeup to be appreciated by others or by the person you like.

But there's someone even more popular than them, the group from Section 1. Their leader is the son of the bank owner where Dad works, and they have shares in this private school. So, they're arrogant, thinking they're handsome. I'd like to slam them against the wall.

I've known him for a long time, and I can say he's arrogant. Even when we were kids. He's even colder than me. And he's still mad at me. It's better this way, so we can finally forget about our meaningless past.

If you're wondering why he's coming, it's the first week of school, and this jerk just arrived. He thinks he's special, like he's a diamond.

We reached the door of our classroom, and Trisha was still talking. Aisshh, what's with her mouth? It's like a chicken's butt, so noisy. Whatever, I don't care.

I even think that even though my friends are crazy sometimes, I'm still grateful that they can tolerate me. I'm not really an emotional person. I love my friends, even though they think I'm just pretending to be friends with them.

I don't know. I'm not really a showy person.

I just listened to our professor who suddenly arrived until it was time for recess. We all stood up and went to the cafeteria.

Just get married yourselves!” Mom scolds them.“No, Kuya. Be proud of your little girl, you know. After Lisa’s wedding took place, Zayden and I became busy preparing for ours. We were also receiving meetings left and right from our company. I was still working despite my current situation. A lot of news even spread on social media during Lisa’s wedding. Many people felt regretful about my past relationship with Ryle. A lot had witnessed it back then. Zayden didn’t even want me to hold my phone anymore because of the overwhelming questions about me circulating online. A month later, news broke out about Ryle and Kristine’s wedding in the U.S. Many were shocked when it happened. They invited me, but since I was too busy, I couldn’t attend. However, my parents went since they were chosen as sponsors. I thought they were going to stay there for good, but apparently not. Ryle was building a house in Iloilo, and they planned to live there instead. They even sold their house here. I was about to leave the building to go home when my phone rang. I answered it as I continued wa

  • How Love Play My Heart    Chapter 26

A day has passed since the proposal, and I'm here at Lisa's house to help her get ready for her wedding to Blue tomorrow. Apparently, the bride needs to be kept away from the groom before the wedding for it to happen.Lisa's mom and Blue's mom are here with us. It's like a girls' night for us. We're even cooking dinner tonight. While we were eating, we heard the doorbell ring, so we all looked at each other. I volunteered to check because it might be the pizza I ordered earlier. We were planning to have a pizza marathon in Lisa's room. When I got to the gate, I was surprised to see who it was when I opened it. The three idiots were together. Thankfully, the annoying Eddy and Jomar weren't there."What are you doing here?" I asked them, frowning. I looked at them one by one, confused."Well, are we not allowed to join?" Brandy asked me hesitantly."Babe, I miss you!" Zayden whined in front of me.I looked at Blue to see if he would complain, "My wife!" He seconded.I closed the gate an
