Jayden kept quiet as we made our way back to the front desk, putting on his coat and walking down the corridor that connected all the rooms to the emergency staircase or the two available elevators. He hooked the mask straps to his ears inside the mirrored elevator. I sneaked a glance at him through the mirror as he adjusted his beanie, and was startled by a pair of familiar caramel brown eyes staring back at me.
