Chapter Two

Camilla

~•~

“What’s this?” I asked, feigning ignorance.

“Open it.” He said.

I opened the file he handed to me and brought the documents out. They were divorce papers.

I flipped through them and let out a laugh but there was no humor in it.

He turned around to leave and then said, “Sign those before I get back.”

I laughed again. “I’m not signing these.”

He turned back to me. “What do you mean you’re not signing it?”

I threw the papers at his face. “I’m not signing it.”

“Camilla, don’t be difficult. Sign the papers so we can go our separate ways. I’m tired of this.” He picked the papers up, arranged them, and handed them back to me.

“Are you deaf? I’m not signing it. You’re going to divorce me and go be with Tori?”

“This is not about Tori. It’s about us and the fact that we’ve been in a loveless marriage for three years.”

“I love you Raffael. I’ve always loved you. Why won’t you love me back?”

“Love you back?” He scoffed. “You and your grandfather forced me into this marriage.” He screamed angrily.

“You had a choice Raffael. If you didn’t want it you would have refused.”

“Fuck you, Camilla.” He said and went out of the room.

I followed after him. “Where the fuck do you think you’re going?”

“Away from you and all of this.” He said walking out the door. “Make sure you sign before I get back except you prefer it the hard way.”

I followed behind him and watched him get in his car and drive out of the compound. I took a deep breath and went back into the house. I picked up my phone and called Skye

“I’m coming over.”

“Ok. I’ll be waiting.”

I got to her house in less than twenty minutes. I parked outside and made my way to the door. When she opened the door she welcomed me with a big hug.

“How are you?” She asked, still in the embrace.

“I’m good.”

“What happened? What’s going on?” She asked again as we broke the hug. “Come, sit.” We went to the couch and sat down.

“Raffael gave me divorce papers,” I said, sighing.

“What?” She exclaimed, genuinely shocked. “He gave you divorce papers? Why?”

“He said he doesn’t want to continue in a loveless marriage.”

“Oh my God.” She pulled me in for another hug. “Did you sign it?”

“No. I told him I wouldn’t.”

“And what did he have to say about that?”

“He told me to sign them before he got back or we would have to do it the hard way.” Tears started rolling down my cheeks and I didn’t even know when. “He says he doesn’t love me anymore. What am I going to do Skye?”

“Cammy, don’t cry. We’ll get through this.” She said, stroking my hair. “Is it about Tori?”

“He says it is not but I don’t believe him. How can he randomly give me divorce papers the day after our anniversary when he was out with his ex-girlfriend? I’m not a kid!”

“You guys need to talk about this maturely. The media is already going crazy. The headlines are outrageous. Where is he?” I doubted he still cared about what the media thought.

“I don’t know, he stormed out of the house after we fought.” I sniffed trying to hold back my tears.

“You guys are going to fix this okay?” She said, reassuring me. “It’s not the end.”

“Can we go somewhere? I need to clear my head and it’s suffocating inside.”

“Where do you want to go?”

“I don’t know.” I shrugged. “Anywhere’s fine as long as it’s away from everything.”

We got out of the house and Skye was driving. I didn’t know where she was taking me but I was grateful to be going out.

We drove for a long time before we finally stopped outside an amusement park. I looked at her and laughed. “An amusement park? Really?”

“What? It’s the best place for a distraction.” She says unbuckling her seat belt. “And you used to love coming here all the time. Come on, let's go.”

We got out of the car and went to get our tickets. We got inside and I instantly felt like a child again. We spent almost the whole day there, going from ride to ride. It felt peaceful.

After a long day, we were both tired and decided to leave. “Thank you,” I said to Skye when we got in the car. “Sincerely, I don’t know what I would do without you.”

“It’s no big deal. That’s what friends are for.” She was about to speak again when she was interrupted by my phone ringing.

I checked the caller and saw that it was my assistant.

“Hello?”

“I’ve been trying to reach you”

“Why? Is there any problem?”

“I’ll send it to you right now.”

She hung up the phone and my phone pinged. She sent me a video. A video of my husband and his ex-girlfriend kissing. The clothes he was wearing were the clothes he was on when he left the house.

I felt an unfamiliar ache in my chest and I placed my hand above it, hoping it would numb the pain. It did nothing.

“What is it?”

I showed her the video and she gasped. “Oh my God. I’m so sorry.”

“You don’t have anything to be sorry about.” I shook my head as she handed me my phone. It wasn’t her fault. She had nothing to do with my cheating husband.

“What are you going to do about it?”

“Nothing.”

“Nothing?” She exclaimed. “Cammy, I know you love him but you have to sign those papers. He’s embarrassed you enough already.”

“I don’t know Skye. Let’s see about that.” He was hurting me but I still didn’t want to let him go. I knew it was pathetic but I couldn’t help how I felt about him.

Looking away from Skye’s pitiful gaze, I called my assistant back. “Where did you get this from?”

“It’s all over the news.”

My heart broke. “Okay. I’ll speak to you later.”

“Cammy…” Skye trailed off.”

“Don’t. I don’t want to talk about it. Let’s go.” I buckled up and she started driving.

I was going to deal with my failing marriage later. I was too exhausted to think about it.

He pulled away and looked me in the eyes, as if asking for permission to continue. I knew what he wanted and I wanted it too so I nodded. He pulled in again and this time we kissed with more passion. I missed the taste of his lips. I wrapped my hands around his neck. It was like we couldn’t get enough of each other. I kept leaning in and he kept pulling me in. He picked me up and I wrapped my legs around his torso. He took me to the bed and then hovered above me. He pulled away. We were both out of breath. “Are you sure?” He asked in a hoarse voice.“Yes.” I sounded really desperate. He moved his lips to my neck and a soft moan came out of my mouth. He sucked on my neck and eventually made his way down. He unbuttoned my shirt and then looked at me for confirmation. I gave him the go-ahead.He took his time unbuckling it and then threw th

It was nice to get an outside perspective on me and Camilla from someone that didn't know the both of us.I woke up pretty late and went outside. The kids were already awake and having breakfast. The chef made breakfast for all of us. There were many varieties to choose from. I picked up some scrambled eggs and two pancakes and waffles. Chapter One Hundred and ThreeCamilla’s POVAfter I dropped Rory off at Raphael’s house and said goodbye, I made my way to work. Things were kind of normal between Raphael and me. We hadn’t really talked about ourselves since that night. I didn’t want to bring up the conversation myself. If anything, he should be the one to initiate the conversation.Throughout the whole day, I kept thinking about Raphael and Rory. It was normal for me to miss my daughter but I didn’t know why my mind kept drifting to Raphael.I’d gotten all the advice I could possibly get from my therapist, friends, and family. I even talked to my grandfather about the situation, I didn’t want him to be caught off guard with everything. He told me that I was an adult and he believed I’d grown over the past few years to be able to make a decision and make the right one. As always, he said he was going to support whatever I decided to do.I was grateful for the village I had behind me. A thought suddenly popped into my

I decided to fly private this time around because I wanted Jason and Rory to be comfortable. • My Ex-Husband’s Regret   Chapter One Hundred and One

Chapter One Hundred and OneCamilla’s POVThe past few weeks I’d focused on work. The board had actually called Jeremy and I to ask us what our relationship was. We simply told them we were friends and coworkers who managed to be caught up in the heat of the moment. We promised to maintain a professional relationship moving forward. I was working on building a new campaign for the company. I barely got enough sleep and was working nights.I was about to go to sleep when I got a text. It was from Raphael. He asked if we could talk. It was like I didn’t have control over my own body when I texted him back saying yes.I agreed to meet him and I put on some clothes and grabbed my keys. I didn’t tell anybody I was going out. I drove over to his house to pick him up. He suggested we go to a park that was nearby. I helped him out of the car because of his leg and we went to one of the beaches in the park. It was dark and quiet. The only source of light was from a few street lights. We were

  • My Ex-Husband’s Regret   Chapter One Hundred

Chapter One HundredRaphael’s POVAfter three weeks, I’d improved significantly. I started going to the office again. I didn’t visit the project sites yet but at least I was out of the house. I was waiting until I was better before going on the trip I had planned with Rory and Jason. They were supposed to be out of school but we decided it was best to keep them in summer school. They didn’t like it though. But Camilla and I were too busy to just have the kids stay in the house all day without spending any time with them.Camilla still didn’t say anything about Jeremy since that night. The rumors that they were dating died down pretty fast though. Their PR team did a good job. They haven’t been seen together since the incident. I’d be lying to myself if I said I didn’t have feelings for how. I didn’t know how I would communicate that to how without her thinking it was just a game. I knew that there was nothing I could do that would erase the hurt she felt years ago. Right now, I was j
