After that beatings I got from him, I finally came to the decision that I'll be leaving the pack, I couldn't heal myself quickly so he wouldn't find out I was a healer.
My plan was sleek,all I needed was for it to fall through, I made sure no one know my plans, I carried two clothes and tucked into the small sling bag I had, I sneaked into the kitchen taking five loaves of bread, on a normal day, I won't eat any bread, all I could get sometimes were crumbs and leftovers.
Looking around, I saw no one, Alpha Rick had something to do outside the pack, and everyone else were either in their rooms, or doing something else. This was the best chance to leave. If he was around it would've been hard, I wouldn't succeed with his constant watchful eyes.
I slipped past the gate when the guard turned away.I rushed out, running away. I ran into the bush, making sure I didn't look back. It seemed as if someone was pursuing me, but I didn't know who it was.
"Melina." I gasped when I heard the voice, it was Alpha Rick. I heard footsteps and I ran away quickly. I winced as I stepped on a nail. I hissed, removing the nail from my leg, I ran away quickly.
"Come back here you bitch." He yelled and I kept running, I didn't watch where I was going, I was brushing every plant and every tree, I kept scratching myself, but I didn't look back.
I ran with all the strength I had, I could hear gunshots and this made me more scared, I knew that he used silver bullets, and that if it hits me, it'll hurt so much.
I kept dodging the bullets, without even knowing I was dodging them.
I've never known my way around the pack, or outside it, but all I did was run, my goal was to escape him, I didn't care if I ran into a ditch.
"You can't escape me, there's no way out of our pack lands." He said, and I swallowed.
I suddenly paused when I reached the edge, I realized that there was no way out like he said.
I paused my heart beating fast, this was the end for me, I either needed to turn back and let him catch or fall into the river I was staring at.
"Like I said sweetheart, you can't escape me." He sneered.
I turned and watched him laugh, and his men stood with their guns, I knew what I had to do.
I didn't care if I got eaten by a fish, all I cared about was escaping him.
"You're going to pay for trifling with me." He said as he walked closer.
I turned back to the edge, and I sighed, it was better than being tortured in his hands, I gripped my sling bag.
"Don't you fucking dare." He screamed and I jumped into the water.
"Shoot her, make sure she doesn't survive." I heard him say above the water.
I held my breath in the water, covering my mouth, his constant water torture, made me used to being in the water, I heard gunshots,and I could see the bullets fall into the water, one brushed my arm and I opened my mouth, the water rushed in and I started coughing, I was sure my hiding place wasn't safe anymore, the bubbles could show at the surface and they'll figure out where I was hiding, I swam forward and I could hear gunshots and I saw the bullets in the water, I leaned close to a branch I saw in the water and I held my breath, it was getting difficult as they didn't stop shooting.
He shot for five minutes, "I'm sure the bitch is dead, let's go." He said and I heaved a sigh of relief.
I started swimming, I didn't know my direction, but I kept swimming ahead, I couldn't see anymore as it suddenly became dark, I figured that it was late, I kept swimming without knowing my direction, when I reached the river bank, I swimmed out and I turned around meeting three men standing at the bank,my heart beat quickly and I started thinking if they were Alpha Rick's men and I didn't know them.
They looked so gorgeous, I wondered where they came from.
"Why are you trespassing on our pack lands?" The brown haired one asked,his deep voice booming and I shivered due to the fear.
"I'm sorry, I'll just swim back." I said clutching my wet sling bag.
I started to move but I stopped when I felt a large hand grip me, "stop right there." It was the brown haired one again, his eyes narrowed as he stared at me.
Suddenly I smelt such a delicious scent that to sniffed him trying to see if it was from him, but it wasn't, I knew what this scent meant, and it scared me and delighted me as well, I was scared that he would reject me just like Alpha Rick did, and I was delighted to know the moon goddess gave me another mate.
I looked around and my eyes fell on a very tall, and handsome male coming from the bush track, his eyes were deep blue, I felt like it can see anyone's soul, his hair was light brown and neck lengthy, he looked around and his eyes settled on me, his eyes widened and his nostrils flared, he inhaled, and walked closer.
"Alpha, we found a rogue." I wanted to argue with him that I wasn't a rogue, that all I did was escape from a wicked alpha, but I knew leaving the pack made me a rogue as I had nowhere I belonged.
"Mate." He said and I shivered from the sudden arousal that hit me from how deep his voice was.
The brown haired one that held me let me go immediately, he stepped back as my mate came into view, I wondered if he would reject me.

It was almost time for the banquet so Melina took a dip in the tub which was full of herbs that helped rejuvenate the skin , after taking her bath she could feel her skin was smoother and a lot softer , she went to her dressing table and applied some essential oils and scented oils all over her body, by the time she was done the sweet scents filled the room.She proceeded to wear the dress she had picked , thinking the event was going to be a simple one like the wedding ceremony Melina picked out a knee length blue halter neck dress .
