My Mate's Rejection

Melina's POV.

"Melina." I stood up immediately, running to where the alpha stood. If I didn't do that, I knew how bad my day would turn out to be.

"Yes Alpha." I said and he smiled, I knew what the smile meant, no matter how I tried avoiding it, my day won't be that easy, I can't smile my way out of this or be obedient.

I was born a slave, my family have been slaves half of their lives to the Cresent pack, my mother was a slave till she died, so was my father, I was now an orphan left to become the alpha's slave.

My parents weren't slaves at first, my dad was a beta, and my mom a healer, they were loyal to the former Alpha, and their lives were great.

Alpha Rick took over and killed the former Alpha and his wife and took those who were loyal to him as slaves, that's how my parents became slaves.

My mom didn't let him know she was a healer, she was scared of what he'll make her do once he found out.

I loved loyalty, but at some point, I hated it as well, wished they somehow betrayed the old alpha like some of the pack members did, this would've spared me being born as a slave, yet they were loyal to the end which made Alpha Rick angry, he worked them to death, and he was trying to do the same to me.

He sometimes ignored me and didn't pay me any mind,all I had to do, was do my normal duties as a slave, and I was fine, yet that changed when he found out I was his mate, it was such a shocking revelation for me, and it was the start of my dose of daily suffering.

He made sure my life was miserable at every opportunity,his countless punishments made my wolf weaker.

I was born with a weak wolf, I didn't shift when others did and when I finally got my wolf, it was strong at all, yet when I had a wolf, it made me feel less miserable.

After making me suffer for weeks,he rejected me. I wasn't shocked about his rejection. I saw it coming, but what I didn't expect was the hurt I and my wolf felt during the rejection. It made me realize that a mate's rejection was a terrible feeling.

Alpha Rick didn't stop at the rejection, he made sure I would hate my life and I did hate it, I kept planning on how to end my life so I wouldn't endure his endless torture.

"Why didn't you come quickly?" He barked at me, hitting me, I stumbled, holding on the table that was close to me.

"I'm sorry Alpha." I said quickly though I knew there was no use in apologizing, he won't stop, and he laughed.

"Will sorry change what you did?" He asked and I shook my head.

"I asked a question!!" His voice boomed and I quivered in fear.

"It won't change it." I replied.

"I'm glad you know it won't." He smiled and I knew what was coming next, it took me great pains to heal all the scars he left on my body.

"Please." I regretted saying please immediately I saw his eyes flash, he smirked, coming closer to me.

"Do you want to be put out of your misery?" He asked, I nodded, I really wanted to just disappear, I was tired of everything, it felt like my prayers didn't work and the moon goddess didn't listen to anything I said.

"You can't get an easy death." He said.

"Making you die easily,will make me merciful, and I don't wanna be merciful,so you ain't dying easy my dear." He said jutting my chin to face him.

I don't know what wicked punishment he planned for me, but the glee on his face made me know that I might actually get the wish I've been making, I might actually die.

"If I hit you, I want you to count with me." He said with a smile.

"You'll only get twenty hits." He said and I heaved a sigh of relief, I was beaten more than twenty before, I was so sure of myself that I could take it.

He smiled wearing gloves on his hand, he brought out a silver chain and I shivered knowing the pain I'll receive.

He brought out a substance and I couldn't move or process any thought, I couldn't believe I was staring at what I've always heard about, he injected the wolfsbane on the silver chain, then he turned to me with a smile, I now understand why he promised me twenty hits and a painful death, he was using what will kill me.

"Now make sure you count with me, if you don't, I'll start again." He said grabbing my hair, I winced in pain immediately he hit me.

"One." I said, he smiled hitting me again.

"Two." I said and he nodded, the next blow landed on my gut, I stumbled back and he dragged me by hair.

"Three." I said and smiled, he attacked my gut again, and I winced shivering due to too much pain, my wolf was whining and I couldn't even soothe it, we were both suffering and I prayed for death, yet it didn't come, it was darn annoying that I couldn't even get what I wanted right now.

He kept hitting me in delicate places especially my gut, I counted to fifteen and I was waiting for the five hits for this to be over.

Searching his face and pleading with my eyes to see if he would answer, I realized how annoyed he was that I counted well and he was almost done with the hit, his eyes showed nothing but pure hatred.

He hit me the remaining five hits and he threw me hard on the floor, I winced as I scraped my back.

"You're no fun to torture." He spat leaving me there, I quivered in pain, waiting for anyone to help me, but they didn't even care, I was just a slave and my death wouldn't matter to them.
