I didn’t get in trouble given none of the items were mine and that was easy to prove. The only lucky thing this entire day was that Mi had a locker in this hall, which is where my book-bag was. I had, smartly as I always tried to do, put my book-bag and stuff in his locker and only took my science book, notebook, and a pencil into class. Something Lucy, Mi and I did when one of our lockers happened to be nearby. It really helped with keeping down what we had to keep up with in class and carrying around. Plus, it kept people from messing with my stuff, something Natasha and Lousie loved to do.

I also got good marks on my assignment given other teachers were asked to look it over. The principal was still dealing with a frantic Mrs. Blanchard and the mess that was our classroom. The janitorial staff were not too happy given what they had to clean up, but I could see them smirking as they heard what happened.

“Ms. Cogswell is this your book and notebook?” Mr. Smith, the head janitor asked as he walked up to me. I looked at the book he was holding and yes it was mine. It had a purple book cover with Sailor moon pictures all over it. Only now it was also covered in makeup and showing signs of blanching. With a quick sniff I confirmed it had been splashed with the polish removal. Though somehow my notebook made it out relatively uncuffed.

“Oh, wow what happened Meri?’ Mi asked, walking up behind me. His teacher must have let him leave given she was right now in my classroom helping. A lot of other kids’ stuff got ruined or was thrown around in Mrs. Blanchard’s hurricane exit of the room.

“Mrs. Blanchard had a cartoon reaction to the polish removal getting all over her clothes and precious shoes.” I stated as I pointed to my still shrieking teacher and then to my classroom which was a huge mess. My table had to be in the middle of the room near the windows, so yeah like 5 or 6 tables had been cleared in Mrs. Blanchard’s dash, but it was my other classmate’s reaction that caused all 12 tables to be knocked or moved aside. Which in turn caused the hurricane of stuff being thrown around and half the class getting drenched in something.

“Ok, Mrs. Blanchard’s class go to the cafeteria and look over…” Principal started to say when Mrs. Blanchard shrieked again causing him once again to retreat to the supply closet.

“Mr. Rock if it’s alright with you I can take Mrs. Blanchard’s class and add them to my class, I have more than enough space.” says Mrs. Mayors as she gestured to her room as she exited my classroom, one of the newly refurbished science rooms and was one of the ones on the larger scale. Plus, it was Mi’s class. I smiled at Mi as I grabbed my stuff from Mr. Smith, carefully though as I still needed to look over the damage.

“Thanks Mr. Smith and sorry about the mess.”

“Oh, why are you sorry, did you have a hand in it?” Mr. Smith asked me as he smirked at me. Knowing full well I had been named the delinquent in this mess.

“Oh, you know, how trouble always seems to find me.” I answered then waved goodbye as Mi and I walked away to his table in his classroom. We both just smirked as we heard Mr. Smith cackling in the hallway.

“So, tell me what happened that you literally had a hurricane in the class. I thought you were in the cells and tissue chapter this week.” Mi said as grabbed my science book from me so he could look it over.

“Yeah, today was basically a review as we were just identifying pictures of things, but I had Natasha as my lab partner today.” I explained as I shrugged my shoulders wondering how bad this all got in such a short time. I mean yes class was half-way over or almost over as I glanced at the clock to see we only had 35 minutes till the final bell. “I was doing the assignment when Mrs. Blanchard demanded I let Natasha do some of the work. All I did was ask which one was the female reproductive system after we decided that cartilage and bone was brain tissue. Then again Natasha had all her makeup/ nail polish set up in front of her. She really can’t do any one task at a time. Then again Mrs. Blanchard really shouldn’t be wearing such stylish shoes in a science room where we might be working with chemicals at any given time.”

“So, I take it you were trying to make a point and instead caused a ruckus.” Mi calmly states as he closes my book and shoves it away. “Your science book is toast; you should turn it…” Mi stops talking just as we hear loud arguing and see the principal and Mrs. Blanchard walking past the door, with a really upset Natasha trailing them as another teacher talks with her. Mrs. Blanchard was red in the face and waving her hands around still holding her shoes in her hands. This was the first time I actually saw the mess that was her. Or even knew what happened to Natasha after everything.

Natasha looked like she bathed in her make-up. Her once lilac dress, or I should say her once pretty dress, because I had given her a shower earlier with my sprite at lunch. Earlier you couldn’t see the blotches on her front but now with the addition of her make-up palette, it was a disaster. I couldn’t see her face, but I could just picture her smeared make-up look from lunch.

While Mrs. Blanchard’s once pristine blue striped shirt is now streaked in odd coloring and her white blouse is blotched in an off yellow in some places in the front and a crazy myriad of colors on the back. Which really surprised me, until I noticed her hair. What was once a beautiful two toned long flowing red wig was now a soggy mess of tangles that were now streaking and very stringy. I never would have imagined that a wig would have streaked like that when wet or had that many colors in it.

“Oh, Shit! Did her wig fall in the sink as she tried to clean the removal from her shoes?” A classmate at another table blurted out. The entire class burst out laughing. I just shrunk into the seat as I realized how much damage I caused.

“It was not your fault, Meri. You had no clue that she would react like that or that any of these would happen.” Mi whispered to me while also rubbing my back. “Mrs. Mayors, what should be done if your class book was destroyed in the melee of today?”

“Let me see the book!” Mrs. Mayors expressed as she walked over to us. Mi just pushed the book closer to the edge of the table. Ms. Mayors thumbed through it and just shook her head. “Sorry Ms. Cogswell but you are going to have to pay for this and I’ll see if there are any backups. Did anyone else have any damage to school property?” Mrs. Mayors asked as she looked around. Several more classmates raised their hands and Mrs. Mayors walked to the closet one.

“What are you thinking about, Meri?” Mi asked me.

“That I don’t want to go home today.” I whispered as I dropped my head to the desk. My dad is going to be pissed, and I have no doubt that I’m going to be sporting a new bruise or two.
