Marly POV

“Marly, it is time,” Carson said softly. I had felt him watching me for the past couple of minutes while I stood on the patio, and I could feel him moving towards me now. “Just go,” she said, not turning to look at him. He moved forward, wrapping his arms around my waist, “Please understand,” he started to say when I cut him off.

“I do not understand, and I will not pretend to,” I responded. “This is the right thing to do, Marly. It is not easy for me either,” Carson replied, starting to sound frustrated with the situation. I stepped away from him, out of his arms and turned to look at him, tears filling my eyes.

“I am sorry for you, but you are not the one being left behind. The one not deemed good enough,” I stated, watching surprise roll over his face. “Marly, I never said you were not good enough,” he said, but I ignored him and stepped around his body. He tried to grab a hold of my hand, but I pulled away b

Was someone hiding in the room? Or is the 'evil' one of the servants that were there to pack her things?

Marly POV Tears continued streaming down my face. I had ignored everyone I saw as I raced towards the forest. I needed to run. To be with Layla, my wolf, as we recognized what this meant for us. And what this meant for our relationship with Carson. All was lost and there was not a damn thing we could do to change it. I quickly shifted, not caring that I had destroyed my clothes. Layla shook out her fur and took off quickly, racing through the forest. Everything was a blur; racing past us as she ran to get rid of her anger and hurt at what had transpired in the dungeon. “It was not his fault,” she said softly. I knew it was not, but I was not ready nor prepared to forgive what had transpired. Before long I sensed someone coming up behind me. Before I could make a move to get into a defensive position, I saw Carson’s Lycan wolf, Kane, race up beside us. He nudged closer to us, trying to get us to slow down.

  • The Lycan's Powerful Omega   Chapter 99 - Trust

Marly POV I was going to vomit. I raced out of the dungeons, hearing Carson yell for me to wait. I hit the door running and bent over, bracing my hands on my knees. I spilled all the food I had eaten, and then some, at the knowledge of what had just happened. We had lost everything in one careless move. In that moment I hated Carson and most especially his father. Carson came up behind me putting his hand on my back. I moved away from him in disgust. His father shuffled out of the dungeon, “What is it? What is wrong?” he asked, confused at what was happening. “You are what is wrong!” I screamed at him. Carson stood back, shocked at what I had stated. “You destroyed everything!” I continued as tears streamed down my cheeks. “Marly, he did not know,” Carson started to say when I cut him off. “We knew; we knew what could happen!” I cried out, frustration in my voice. Carson took a cautious step forward, “

Carson POV We walked slower than usual, allowing my father to keep up with us. I cringed to think what had happened to him over the years. I could see that one of his leg’s had been damaged. I could not sense his wolf. I was not wanting to raise any uncomfortable thoughts for him, so I would wait until he was ready to discuss it. We walked into the dungeon and immediately heard John shouting. He knew when we had entered the building and instantly had to make his presence known. We walked down the corridor and turn towards his cage. I noticed my father was looking at the various Rogues in the cages. “Do you recognize anybody?”, I asked softly. My father shook his head, “No, but I have a sense of sadness for those in captivity. Having been held captive for so many years,” he admitted sadly. Perhaps there was much to learn from my father and his experience. Could we be treating those who betray us differen

Marly POV I stepped forward cautiously, listening to the sounds around me. The panic in the voices of the medical team. The yelling of Carson’s father, trying to break free from Carson. And somewhere in all of that I caught a brief echo of a sound. Carson’s mother’s heartbeat. Albeit it was weak but it was still there. Amidst the panic, I held up my hand, “Wait!” I commanded, wanting to draw attention to the fact that she still had a heartbeat. With the chaos, they were setting up to use a defibrillator on her, and I knew that would be the thing that would kill her. Everyone paused, and the doctor looked at me in shock. “How did you know?” he asked, as everyone took a step back and checked the machines. “Just a good guess,” I replied, as I heard Carson’s father quiet down, “What is happening?” he asked. “She is back,” the doctor stated, wiping his brow. Carson released his father, so that he could step towards his mate.

  • The Lycan's Powerful Omega   Chapter 96 - Distress

Marly POV I had to admit, Elder John’s words terrified me. I was afraid of Carson being taken away from me at a moment’s notice. No warning. Just the showing up of his fated mate. I could not breathe if I spent too much time thinking about what that loss would feel like. Carson has assured me it will not happen, but I know life is not a guarantee. It can be cruel, and heartless. As I listened to the Elder’s words, I put my hand on Carson’s arm. I knew he was ready to destroy the Elder, but I wanted a chance to read him once again. I used our mind-link to share that with Carson. “Let me try to read him again,” I suggested, as Carson looked to me. “Are you certain?” he asked through our mind-link. “Yes, I need to know what he knows,” I reasoned as I took a step towards the Elder. “Going to try to read me again, Omega?” John taunted, as I looked at him calmly. “We both know I am not an Omega, no thanks to your betrayals,” I

  • The Lycan's Powerful Omega   Chapter 95 - Needed

Carson POV It had been a couple days since we had returned to the Full Moon Pack. Marly and I had been making up for lost time, just spending time together and managing the day-to-day pack business. Visiting my parent who were slowly but surely mending from years of abuse. But now, I recognized, it was time to address the demons in our midst. Primarily Elder John, Elder Timothy, Jenna and anyone else who was a threat to our happiness. Marly came up behind me, wrapping her arms around my waist. Feeling her lips kiss my back, I smiled before turning around and holding her in my arms, “I missed you,” I murmured, my lips on hers. She chuckled, “You just saw me,” she reminded me. “It was a long wait,” I teased, as she kissed me back. I groaned against her lips, “As much as I want to continue this, we have things to deal with,” I reminded her. She growled softly, “Do we have to?” she asked. “We both know we do. We need to figure
