Elias

Augustus stood stock still as I hovered over him in my wolf form. I was told once or twice before that my wolf looked like the devil himself. They were exaggerating, of course, but from how my best friend’s face went deathly pale, I had to wonder if they were onto something.

Saliva dripped from my maw onto his shoulder, and my breath warmed his face. Augustus’s eyes stayed planted on the forest floor as a sign of respect and submission.

I growled menacingly just to be an ass for all the ribbing he gave me earlier about my mate.

“E-Elias…don’t do this,” he begged, voice barely above a whisper. I let him sweat it for a couple of minutes before nudging his head with my snout.

I shifted and couldn’t help but laugh when Augustus collapsed onto the ground.

“That’s not funny, asshole. I thought I was about to be puppy chow.”

“It serves you right, and see what happens to you the next time you call me a fucking idiot,” I said, leaning against a large boulder with my arms crossed over my c

  • The Professor's Forbidden Mate   Damning Evidence

Elias The secretary lamp on my desk softly illuminated the spreadsheets and financial records splayed across my desk. A damp ring from my bourbon glass moistened the wood. I couldn’t be bothered with a coaster—not when Nocturne was on the verge of collapse. “This is fucking bullshit,” I said for what might’ve been the hundredth time since my father delivered the records. I circled a transaction in red and slid the page to him. “Explain this transaction.”My father considered it for a few seconds before returning to his new favorite line, “It’s personal.” I nodded and added the transaction to the growing list of “personal” expenditures my father deemed necessary. So far, the transactions totaled $3.7 million.“No wonder you’ve been hounding me about becoming dean. You didn’t want me to be dean because you believed in me. No, you wanted me to become dean so that I could be the fall guy when shit hit the fan.”My father remained silent until he felt emboldened to address me again.

  • The Professor's Forbidden Mate   The Future of Nocturne Academy

EliasWe. Need. To. Talk.Words no one wanted to hear, especially not from their mate. “You have the floor.”“Words can’t describe how much I appreciate your generosity, but…people will start asking questions. My roommate will ask questions. What am I supposed to say?”“You can tell them to mind their damn business.”She snorted.“Yeah, like that’s gonna fly.”“Just say a distant family member gifted you the items as a graduation present.” “My distant family member gifted me a Black Card?” “I want to see you later,” I said suddenly. “Why?”“Must I need a reason?” “I-”Before she could finish her sentence, Delilah’s excitable roommate entered the suite, pleading to know what happened, ruining the moment. I hung up, and it was just as well, since my father barged in. I checked my watch. “It’s rude to enter without knocking,” I said, reminding him of the manners he didn’t give a damn about. My father’s faces reddened a deep crimson and I feared his head might explode. “You are de

  • The Professor's Forbidden Mate   The Surprises Keep Coming

DelilahI neared my dorm room, barely paying attention to the students who glared at me as they passed. One of them thought it was hilarious to yell “rogue activity” as we neared. I ignored them, swiping my badge to enter my dormitory. The resident assistant at the front desk gasped when I entered. “What are you doing here?” I paused to address her, knitting my brows together in confusion. “I live here,” I answered cautiously. “H-how?” she stammered. “You struck Professor Grey. Hitting a teacher is immediate grounds for expulsion.”“I guess not,” I drawled, continuing to my room. There was a note taped to our door. I snatched it off and opened it. “Pack your bags, you filthy half breed,” I whispered, reading the note. I heavily sighed and tore the note into four pieces before unlocking the door. I made a beeline to my bedroom after locking the door behind me. I was about to kick my shoes off and climb into bed when I noticed three black, bulky garment bags resting on my bed al

  • The Professor's Forbidden Mate   Protect Yourself

EliasI sat across from my sulking mate with a throbbing shoulder and wondered how the hell she was that strong. She sat with her legs crossed and stared at her tennis shoe—refusing to even glance at me.She was enraged, and so was I, but for different reasons.Anastasia Ashford was a fucking problem—a problem I couldn’t easily get rid of—not with the amount of money her parents funneled into the academy. That was the negative side of fortune. Wealthy people could buy their way in, or, in other cases, buy their way out. Ms. Ashford's academic records didn’t meet Nocturne Academy’s standards. Her essay stood out to me the most from any essay that crossed my desk because it was that atrocious. Her grammar and punctuation were atrocious; she typed “um” and “like” in the essay. Her application was dismal, and I was 100% certain she’d only make it through life on good looks and money. If it were up to me, she wouldn’t be a student at Nocturne Academy, but Caspian Grey loved his donors. But

  • The Professor's Forbidden Mate   Brunch Showdown

“You girls thinking about pledging Alpha Delta Luna?” Anastasia asked in a syrupy sweet tone that I knew would be followed with a bitchy remark.Sabrina smiled politely at Anastasia, but even I could tell there was a bite behind that girl-next-door smile.“Oh, wow. You can read after all,” Sabrina said, gasping dramatically. “And here I thought your skull was full of air.”Anastasia and her flunkies frowned, and I bit my lip to hide my smirk, but despite my silence, she still turned her sights on me.Anastasia sighed and folded her arms over her chest.“That’s a good one, Sabrina. You might be Alpha Delta Luna material after all. Especially since you’re so…” She paused and glanced back at me. “…charitable. At Alpha Delta Luna, we pride ourselves on helping the unfortunate. Half breed, shouldn’t you be eating with your scholarship buddies at the soup kitchen across campus?”Her friends tittered, and I had had enough.I dropped my fork and stood, glaring at Anastasia with all the animosi

  • The Professor's Forbidden Mate   Brunch

Delilah“Elias,” I groaned, rolling over in bed to cuddle with my mate. Instead of making contact with warm skin and taut muscles, I was met by cool softness. I cracked open my eyes and rolled them when I realized he was gone.I didn’t know what I expected. I doubted he’d stick to the plan and officially make me his in three months. I considered myself understanding. I understood that Elias was under immense pressure, and that I wasn’t who he envisioned to be his mate. I understood what he could lose by being with me—his respect from colleagues, students, friends, and his father, his teaching position, and more, but I didn’t think I was wrong for giving him an ultimatum.I’d much rather he broke my heart now than string me along and make false promises.I rolled over, snatched up the pillow he slept on, and clutched it to my body, pretending it was him. But that only lasted a few seconds before I tossed it aside. There was nothing like the real thing.“Delilah? Are you awake?” my roomm
