Unintentionally chased

"Call me sir." He demanded."What?" I heard it correct yet asked again to make sure did I hear correct? "Don't your thick head get things at once?" He asked furrowing his eyebrows without moving his gaze from mine. No way I am going to call him sir. Thick head! It's the second time he told that. What does he think of himself?I cleared my throat and spoke. "Firstly, I'm not going to call you sir. I'm not your slave to do so. And secondly, I don't have a thick head." I protested. "Slave? Seeing a word by its abbreviation." He quirked a brow. "Your thick head has a little knowledge in it." This time he inched more close while the corner of his perfect shifted to a smirk. Move back, Mister!"Yes, I do see a word by its meaning," I said, trying not to fall in his gaze. (S.I.R = Slave - I - Remain) He got closer and closer and stooped near my ear while keeping his hands on the table, either side of me. I could feel his brushing against my earlobe when he spoke in a low deep voice. "If you don't, I'll cancel this deal." 'No! I can't let this happen.'~~~~~~~~~~~~~~I am either drown into the deep green sea or flew up into the bright blue sky, for sure I was lost in his blue-green eyes. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~Time marched by days into months and months into a year. Everything in my life has changed but one thing remains the same. Years ago I would've never pictured my life the way it is now.

My so important business talk is done and I am taking you out today." He said and sat beside Adam."Where?" I asked.I was waiting for the answer when I heard Adam's shout. "Hey, that's cheating."Tilting my head in his direction, I saw Loren covered his eyes with his hand. "Your sister asked me to do it." He said and smirked at me."No, I didn't-" before I could finish, he leaned over Adam and kissed me."Levy y

Chapter: 32. Funeral
Time marched by days into months and months into a year. Everything in my life has changed but one thing remains the same. Years ago, I wouldn't have pictured my life the way it is now. Our little family had grown. Brother is engaged with Ayra and father is living with us. Even after a year my mind can never let go of Loren or it's my heart that is still holding Mr. Black. I was looking in the mirror, reading my new look. My long hair was now short reaching my shoulders. I was wearing a maroon, knee-length dress with black boots covering my exposed legs. My contemplation ended with a call, a video call from Jacob."Hey.""Haircut!" Was the first thing he said."Yeah," I said touching the ends of my hair. "Ayra insist.""You look cute in short hair.""You think so? I prefer long though.""When did you do it?""2 days back."Adam shouted while enterin

Chapter: 32. Accept?
Sitting in the class with my head resting on the bench, I was thinking of what to do. How should I explain this to my brother? It's really hard for me to believe and impossible for him. I was staring at my hands holding the phone. Should I talk with someone? But with whom? Only if Loren was here, I could discuss it with him. He always had answers to my questions and he somewhat knows about my father, I didn't know what I told him back then. Here I again started thinking about him. Scrolling the contacts on the phone as if his number will magically pop up, I abruptly stopped the process when I saw Jacob's name. Should I call him? He might freak out more than I am and he'll be sleeping at this time. Damn! I just want to smash my head on the wall so that any solution my fall out. This is stupid. I stood up to move to the other class. I should get something that justifies his words.Classes went by one after another. We got

Chapter: 31. Unveiled - ll
I was in the class, listening to the lecture with my heavy eyelids, ready to shut at any moment. My mind got attentive when the lecturer mentioned my name."Miss. Troustkey." She said."Yes." I stood at attention.Did she notice my sleepy head?"Go to the principals' office.""But why?" I asked. She handed me a little piece of paper on which my name was written with the signature of the principal. I took the paper and went out of the class. Standing in the corridor, I was confused, whether the office was on the left or the right.I should pay more attention to the directions.I randomly turned right and reached a room, not the principals' office. Walking back, I went to the left and knocked on the principals' office. He told me to come in and then asked to go to the opposite side where someone came to meet me.Ah! I went to the righ

Chapter: 30. Unveiled
I stood there astonished when the man declared his identity. My clouded eyes couldn't leave his sight when those words contracted my ears. Taking a step back from him, I blinked to make the view clear. It was the same man, whom I stamped in the crowd. This cannot be true, all this time- before I could complete my thought other thought interrupted. Is he another kidnapper? Stepping back several steps, I was surveying my driver who was nowhere to be found."Levy listen to me." He said while taking a step towards me.How did he know my name?"Back off." I snarled, tears leaving my eyes."You don't have to fear me." He stepped forward, making me mirror his action oppositely. "Ok, I am not moving." He stood still in this position."Who sent you to kidnap me?" I asked. This was a stupid question, why would any kidnapper would tell that. But my mind wasn't running fine to ask any proper question.

Crimson Love

Crimson Love

Thirty years after the apocalypse, the world belongs to darkness. When a failed climate weapon shattered Earth’s atmosphere, sunlight became lethal. Entire cities burned beneath toxic ultraviolet storms while humanity fled underground into fortress-cities powered by artificial UV towers. Above the surface, civilization rotted beneath snow, ash, and endless night. And the vampires emerged. Seraphine Ward (Sera) grew up hating them. A hunter from the human city of Zelios, Sera is sharp-tongued, reckless, and fueled almost entirely by anger after vampires destroyed her childhood settlement years ago. He isentirely too amused by the hunter who immediately tries to stab him through the throat. Unfortunately, it barely slows him down. Their first meeting should have ended in bloodshed. Instead, it begins an uneasy alliance neither of them wants. When Zelios’ UV towers begin failing, Sera is forced to travel through the deadly wastelands beyond civilization in search of an abandoned underground laboratory rumored to contain pre-apocalypse atmospheric research capable of restoring sunlight. Husen claims he knows where it is. And Husen, a monster feared even among immortals, becomes increasingly unstable around Sera. Because her blood is different. Not sweeter. Not rare. Before the apocalypse, Zelios scientists secretly experimented on unborn children using altered vampire blood in desperate attempts to engineer immunity against blood sickness and ultraviolet radiation. Sera was one of the few surviving subjects. Her blood isn’t natural. She was created. And Zelios knew. Once Zelios discovers what her blood can do, its leaders betray her immediately, planning to drain and replicate her blood to create biological weapons and controlled vampire armies. Husen responds exactly as expected. Violently. As war erupts between humans and vampires, Sera and Husen journey through ruined cities while their hatred slowly turns into obsession, intimacy, and dangerous love.

Chapter: Chapter 74 : Smiles Like Blades
The door to Sera's room closed with a quiet click. For a few moments, Jonas remained standing outside, staring at the wooden door in silence. A faint smile lingered on his face after their conversation, but it didn't last. His thoughts drifted back to the few words she had chosen carefully."I tested my blood.""I still don't have answers.""I'll ask next time."She hadn't lied. He knew that much. But she hadn't told him everything either.Jonas sighed softly and slipped both hands into the pockets of his uniform jacket as he began walking through the nearly empty corridor. The electric lights overhead buzzed faintly, their pale glow stretching long shadows across the polished floor. He had known Sera for almost fifteen years. Long enough to read the smallest changes in her expression. Long enough to know when she was hiding something not out of mistrust, but because she was trying to protect the people around her."She met him..." The thought came uninvited.Husen.Jonas was almost c

Chapter: Chapter 73 : A Friend Who Waited
The corridor outside Sera's room was unusually quiet. Most of the hunters had already retired after the long patrol. Only the faint hum of the electric lights accompanied her footsteps as she made her way down the familiar hallway. The events of the evening replayed endlessly in her mind.Nysera. A queen. More vampires. An entire kingdom hidden beyond the ruins. And somehow. All of them seemed connected to her. She let out a slow breath as she reached her door.Enough. One problem at a time. Sliding the key into the lock, she pushed the door open."..."A figure sat comfortably in the chair beside her desk. Sera instinctively reached for the dagger at her waist before stopping herself."...Jonas?"He looked up from the notebook he had been absentmindedly flipping through."Took you long enough."She blinked. "For a second..." She let out a small sigh. "I thought someone broke into my room."Jonas leaned back in the chair, folding his arms. "Well..." His expression carried an exaggerat

Chapter: Chapter 72 : The truths
The corridors of Zelios were quieter than usual. The patrols had already returned. Most hunters had retired to their quarters, while the medical wing had fallen into its familiar rhythm of hushed conversations and humming equipment. The white electric lights stretched across the corridor in neat rows, reflecting faintly against the polished stone floor.Sera walked alone. Her footsteps echoed softly. She had expected this meeting. In truth. She had been preparing for it ever since she stepped back through Zelios' gates. Outside the command office, two guards stood at attention. One stepped aside as she approached. "Lieutenant.""The Commander is expecting you."She gave a brief nod before knocking."Enter."Commander Aldren stood beside the large table in the center of the room. Dr. Elias remained seated, several reports spread neatly before him. Unlike previous interrogations. There were no other officers. No veteran hunters. No observers. Only the three of them.Aldren gestured towa

Chapter: Chapter 71 : Quiet Summons
Day had settled over Zelios. The fortress, usually alive with the voices of returning patrols, had grown quiet. Electric lights lining the stone corridors cast a steady white glow, replacing the light that lingered beyond the walls. Outside, the ruins belonged once again to no one Inside, Zelios returned to its disciplined rhythm.Hunters cleaned their weapons. Doctors filed patrol reports. Engineers inspected damaged equipment. Everything appeared ordinary. Only a handful of people knew it wasn't.Commander Aldren stood beside the wide window of his office, overlooking the central courtyard. Below, trainees resumed their morning drills as if nothing had happened.Nothing looked different. Yet everything had changed. He remained silent for a long time before speaking."...Has she been through the medical examination?"Dr. Elias, seated across the room with several reports spread before him, nodded. "Everything was completed according to protocol.""And?"Elias sighed. "Her blood react

Chapter: Chapter 70 : report to queen
The fortress of Nysera stood where no map dared to draw it. Hidden beneath the shattered remains of an ancient mountain, its towering halls were carved from black stone polished smooth by centuries of existence. Crimson crystals jutted from the walls like frozen veins, casting a blood-red glow through endless corridors. The air carried the scent of damp earth and old blood, while silence ruled every corner.Unlike Zelios, there was no warmth here. No laughter. No bustling voices. Only discipline. Only fear. At the end of the great hall, upon a throne carved from obsidian, sat the Vampire Queen herself.Nysera.She rested her cheek against one gloved hand, emerald eyes half-lidded with boredom. Her long silver-white hair flowed over the arm of her throne like liquid moonlight, contrasting sharply with the crimson silk draped over her slender frame. Gold ornaments rested against her pale skin, their beauty unable to soften the predatory elegance she possessed. She looked young. Too youn

Chapter: Chapter 69 : welcome stranger
The Hunter Sent by the Council The towering steel gates of Zelios groaned as they slowly opened. The sound echoed through the evening air, announcing the return of another patrol.Only this time. Every guard standing atop the walls stopped what they were doing."...Lieutenant Sera?""She's back."A second voice followed almost immediately. "Who's the man beside her?"The murmurs spread before Sera and the stranger had even crossed the outer bridge. Word traveled quickly inside Zelios. The lieutenant who had disappeared for an entire day beyond the walls had finally returned. But she had not returned alone. The rising sunlight painted the fortress in warm shades of amber as Sera walked through the entrance. Her boots felt heavier than usual. Not because of exhaustion. Because of the questions she knew were waiting for her. Behind her walked the man who had appeared out of nowhere during the battle. He moved with effortless confidence. No hesitation. No wasted motion. Even after fightin
