34. Chasing souls

My eyes couldn't believe what they saw that night, neither my mind could contemplate why he was there. Was I hallucinating? No, I wasn't. If it was a hallucination, this could have happened a long and time ago. He was real, but how? Was the question that was killing every brain cells of mine. In between two days, time passed and I was lost in my thoughts. The answer to how he was there? What was he doing? and why at the funeral? Will be answered only if, I know who that woman was. And the question, who she was can be answered by only one person, Ayra. I didn't dare to ask her anything about her friend, I wanted to give her time till she comes out of her somber.

I got off the bed, freshened up and went into her room. She was sitting on the bed, hugging the pillow. Even after a couple of days, she wasn't normal. Taking a deep breath, I entered and sat beside her.

"Ayra?" I said.

She looked up at me, ending her nowhere stare.
