Crushed On The Rink: Falling For My Coldest Enemy

Crushed On The Rink: Falling For My Coldest Enemy

I came here on a scholarship. No parents. No safety net. Just brains, bruises, and a shot at a better life. Now they want me on the hockey team? I’ve never even touched a stick. And if I say no—I lose everything. The only thing colder than the rink is how they look at me. The rich girls with their designer skates and perfect smiles. The coach who’d rather pretend I don’t exist. And him—Jaxon Reid, the team’s golden boy, who skates like sin and speaks with his eyes more than his mouth. He thinks I’m a joke. They all do. But I’ve fought for every inch of my life, and I’m not about to back down now. Not when college is the only thing standing between me and going back to nothing. So I’ll lace up. I’ll fall, I’ll bruise, I’ll bleed if I have to. And maybe—just maybe—I’ll learn how to play their game better than they do. Because survival isn’t about being the best. It’s about refusing to lose.

Chapter: Chapter 005
Lena's POV I screamed at the sight before me, Coach Lucien was standing before me, a strange presence around him, his eyes glowed a soft but bright gold. His teeth looked longer, like a vampire's.... His eyebrows were raised as if surprised to see me The scream escaped before I could stop it, he turned as a lady dressed in white rushed in. Only when she touched the drip in my hands did I realise where I was. Why was I in the hospital? Why did Lucien look like a beast a minute ago, the nurse looked shocked as she checked my vitals. She mumbled something to Lucien before rushing out as fast as she came in.Coach didn't turn to face me, his back was stiff, I watched as he clenched and unclenched his fist. Was he angry?Something throbbed painfully in my head, almost felt like a creature was trying to escape, it hurt at a point and I winced. Only then did Lucien turn to face me. His eyes were no longer gold but red like he'd been crying or high on drugs "Are you okay?" His voice was h

Chapter: Chapter 004
Lucien's POV I watched as Lena dropped to the floor but not before I saw the flash of her eyes. The boys froze and a deep hush seemed to drop on everyone.I recovered quickly and rushed towards her, "Call for an ambulance!!!" I yelled on top of my voice. One of the guys glided off the ice to call while the rest surrounded me, shock and fear on their faces. She was cold and wasn't breathing, I checked her pulse and my heart skipped a beat. I wasn't supposed to let her practice just yet, I swore underneath my breathe as I carried her, she weighed so little compared to her frame, I glided off and waited for the guys to pull of my skating shoes before racing to the exit "Please, please" I begged the moon goddess. This wasn't about to end before I even got a chance to find her. My wolf growled within me like a wounded animal.I would have wondered why but i couldn't, the ambulance arrived before I got to the front, I placed her on the stretcher and joined them in the bus. They zoomed off

Chapter: Chapter 003
Lena's POV I slapped my self mentally before running off with my bags. I made my way to the bakery, hoping my boss wasn't too pissed off to see me. I had missed three days in a row and i didn't even reach out to her.It wasn't crowded when I arrived just like I expected, it was Friday. I pushed open the door with a grin on my face and bumped into someone."Hey, I'm sorry" I apologized turning to see who it was. "It's okay" came the reply. I knew that voice. He bent to pick a note and stood back up. "It's you" I grinned, recognising him, he was the guy who helped me stand and gave me the hockey gear.He smiled back as he placed his books on the closest table. "Lena. Right?" He asked stretching his hands to me I grabbed it and smiled wider, he knew my name. "Yes, Lena and you're?" "Collins. Funny to meet you here. How're you doing?" I chuckled and was about to answer when my boss came in, she looked surprised to see me but it turned to relief as she pulled me into a hug. "I was wo

Chapter: Chapter 002
Lena's POV I should have stayed gone. Anyone else would have But the scholarship? That was my only hope to living. So the next morning, I was back at the rink, the guy who helped me up gave me basic gears, said it was okay for a beginner.I matched in like I wasn't walking to my execution, trying my best to look confident, Coach Lucien didn't greet me, he barely acknowledged me. I ignored the cold behaviour and dropped my bags before returning to the rink, I was thankful I could at least skate, growing up I liked the ice and that made me learn it once I had the opportunity to.It wasn't a total disaster only that I no longer liked it, it reminded me of so many memories I'd love to keep away. One of which included a broken finger, I winced before shaking my head to clear the memories.Warm-ups started and I was slower than the others, my shoulders stiff and I was more focused on staying on my feet than on the puck. Halfway through, I fumbled a pass, missed it completely instead of

Chapter: Chapter 001
Lena's POV "To maintain your provisional scholarship, you are required to participate in the school's hockey tryouts. Your performance will determine your eligibility moving forward" I stared at the mail again, blinking as if it had the same effect a slap would have. I read it again hoping there was a mistake. Across the room, my roommate, Sarah sat upright on her bed as her jaw dropped open. "Did you also get the notification?" She asked, equally surprised. While I'd been on a scholarship since my first year in high school, she wasn't because she couldn't meet the requirements. But we both decided to try our lucks for a college scholarship, for her it was trying her luck, but for m, it was of survival. Get it right or go back home.No scholarship simply meant I wasn't going to college. I nodded in response to her and got out of bed, glancing at my reflection in the mirror.Every line of fatigue were so perfectly sculpted into my features, I had not enjoyed a good night's rest in t
