Inatural: Dark War

Inatural: Dark War

In a world full of humans there is an island called Obutema, it is hidden in the vast ocean concealed from the human world. On the island live many beautiful magical beings who all live in harmony. The island is protected by powerful enchantments and guarded by ancient creatures. A sanctuary that is built for them to thrive and use their magic for good, legend spoke of its origin tracing back to a time when the first magical beings were born from the purest essence of nature itself. As time went on all magical beings were drawn to the island, seeking refuge from the chaos of the human world. One day a great war erupted when the malevolent demon kings sought to unleash darkness and chaos upon the magical beings. The once harmonious community was torn apart as some succumbed to the temptation of power and joined forces with demons. However, the magical beings who remained loyal to the essence of goodness and nature stood strong, uniting their powers to protect their home. The battle was fierce, but in the end, the magical beings defeated the demon king and banished him back to the depth of hell. The island was once restored to its peaceful beautiful state but that darkness somehow always remained.

Chapter: Chapter 9: When the Wall Comes Down
It didn’t happen the way anyone expected. No warning. No buildup. No moment where the air shifted slowly enough that you could brace yourself and find your footing before it hit.One moment the island was quiet. And the next—The sky cracked. It started as a sound. Not loud. Not dramatic.A single tone — deep and resonant and wrong in the way that certain sounds are wrong not because of their volume but because of what they mean. Like the sound of a bone breaking. Like the sound of something ancient and load-bearing giving way all at once after years of pressure.Elora heard it first. She was already standing when Calum reached her — cards scattered, candles blown out by a wind that came from nowhere, her hands gripping the edge of the table so hard her knuckles had gone white.“It’s time,” she said.Calum didn’t ask what she meant. He was already moving.Soren felt it in her blood. Both halves of her — the witch and the vampire — reacted simultaneously and violently, the way two inst

Chapter: Chapter 8: Fracture
There was a moment — brief, almost imperceptible — when the barrier between the void and the living world thinned enough that Akuma could feel the island. Not see it.Not reach it.Feel it.Like pressing a hand flat against a wall and sensing the heartbeat on the other side.He lived for that moment.Stood in it now.Eyes closed. Form still. The vast darkness of the void spreading endlessly around him while he focused everything — every century of patience, every fragment of accumulated power — into that single point of contact.There.The island breathed. He could feel the enchantments humming — ancient, layered, woven together with a craftsmanship he genuinely respected. Whoever had built them had understood something most beings never grasped. That the strongest cage wasn’t made of force. It was made of belief. As long as the magical beings believed in the island’s protection — believed in the balance, in each other, in the power of what they had built together — the enchantments h

Chapter: Chapter 7: What the Cards Already Knew
The caravan smelled like old wood, burnt sage, and something sweeter underneath — like flowers that only bloomed in places time had forgotten. It always had. From the time Zarina was small enough to fit beneath the table where her grandmother spread her cards, this smell meant one thing.Truth was coming.Whether you were ready for it or not.Elora didn’t summon them. She didn’t need to.They came on their own — one by one, then all at once — the way people do when something unseen pulls them in the same direction without explanation. Like the island itself had whispered a direction and their feet had simply followed.Vronan arrived first, which surprised everyone including himself. He stood in the doorway of the caravan looking mildly confused about his own presence. “I don’t know why I’m here,” he said.“Yes you do,” Calum replied without looking up.Vronan opened his mouth.Closed it.Stepped inside.Jakarr came next, silent as always, positioning himself near the wall where he cou

Chapter: Chapter 6: Steel and Smoke
Nobody slept well. That much was clear by morning. The sun rose over Obutema the way it always had — warm, golden, slow. But nothing about the island felt the same. The air carried a tension that hadn’t been there before. Even the birds were quieter. Even the river moved differently.Like the island itself was holding its breath.Nadrwka was already outside before dawn broke. He stood at the edge of the training grounds — a wide stretch of open earth surrounded by ancient stone markers, worn smooth by generations of warriors who had stood exactly where he stood now. His arms were crossed. His eyes were distant. He hadn’t told them everything. Not yet.Footsteps behind him.He didn’t turn.“You didn’t sleep,” Zarina said.“Neither did you.”She stepped beside him, her gaze moving across the empty grounds.“We can’t train them the same way,” she said. “Not anymore.”“No.”“The creatures adapted. Mid-fight.” Her voice was steady but tight. “Whatever comes next won’t fight the same way tw

Chapter: Chapter 5: The one who waits
The night had gone too quiet. Not peaceful. Not calm.Quiet like something was waiting. The door stood open. And the girl didn’t move.Vronan blinked, glancing between her and the others. “Okay… I feel like we should start with who are you before anything else.”She didn’t answer right away. Her gaze moved slowly past him—past all of them—taking in the house, the land beyond, the air itself.Like she was measuring it.Like she was listening to something none of them could hear.Jakarr stepped slightly forward. “You said you’re looking for the Alpha.”Her eyes shifted to him.“Yes.”Her voice was steady.Too steady.Naku hadn’t moved. Not since the door opened. There was something about her—Something that didn’t sit right.Didn’t feel right.Didn’t feel wrong either.Just…Familiar.“Name,” Naku said finally, his voice low.Her gaze snapped to him.And for the first time—Something changed. Not in her posture. Not in her expression. But in the air between them.“…Noctrin.”The name se

Chapter: Chapter 4: Aftermath
The silence that followed felt heavier than the fight itself. No one moved at first. The forest, once full of life, now stood eerily still. Patches of blackened earth spread where the creatures had emerged, the corruption lingering like a stain that refused to fade.Zarina lowered herself slowly to the ground, her wings dissolving into light behind her. Her breathing was steady but her eyes were not. She turned immediately.“Na’Thena’“I’m right here,” Na’Thena answered quickly, stepping forward with Jahzara and Niko close behind her. Zarina’s gaze moved over them, checking, counting, making sure. All threeSafeOnly then did her shoulders relax slightly.Jahzara crossed her arms, trying to look tougher than she felt. “Okay…so that was definitely not normal.” Na’Thena shot her a look. “You think.”“I’m just saying..”“You don’t need to say anything.” Na’Thena cut on, her voice sharper than usual.Jahzara blinked. Then frowned.“Why are you snapping at me?”“Because you weren’t taki

Alex on the run

Alex on the run

Alex, get up!”
A sharp slap to the leg.
“You think we’re running a daycare down here?”
Fifteen-year-old Alex scrambled out of her pile of thin blankets on the basement floor, eyes wide, limbs sore. Another day, another list of chores. Cooking. Cleaning. Smiles for those who kicked her. Silence for those who didn’t see her at all.
Upstairs…laughter, Alpha Cole’s family was having breakfast. She could smell the cinnamon.
Down here? Mold. Dust. And the quiet ache of a girl who didn’t know she was born to change the world.

Chapter: Epilogue: Whisper’s of the moon
Years had passed since the war with Silver Moon became nothing more than a story told beside fires at Night Fang keep. Not a warning anymore. Not a wound.A memory. The forest had changed in the gentlest ways—thicker, greener, more alive than it had been in decades. The trees along the ridge had grown tall and strong, their roots intertwined like the packs that now lived in harmony beneath the Moon’s watchful glow. And in the center of it all… Night Fang thrived.Alex stood where she always did at dawn. The ridge. The place where she had once learned to lead, to fight, to survive. Now she simply stood there to watch.Beside her, Aeron leaned against the stone ledge, arms folded loosely, his presence no longer that of a warrior preparing for war—but a mate at peace, a father at rest, a partner who no longer had to guard every breath.Below them, laughter echoed.Their children raced through the snow with Marcus and Soren’s children, their movements fast, joyful, unburdened by the shado

Chapter: Chapter 23: The Story’s End
The sun rose slowly over Night Fang keep, spilling warm, golden light across the snow-covered ridges and dense, silent forest. Wolves padded along the edges of the clearing, tails flicking as pups tumbled and wrestled in the soft powder. The air was calm, quiet in the way that only a land that had survived war could be—peaceful, secure, and alive with promise.
Alex stood at the edge of the ridge, Aeron beside her, hand resting over hers, their wolf hearts intertwined. From this vantage point, the lodge looked serene, smoke curling gently from chimneys, the grounds bustling with activity yet filled with quiet harmony. For the first time in sixteen years, she felt it—the weight of victory eased by the comfort of belonging, of family, and of home.
“They’re all safe,” Alex whispered, her eyes sweeping across the ridge where Night Fang’s wolves and children played. Two of her pups tumbled through the snow, chasing each other in clumsy, joyous arcs. One of Aeron’s younger pups bounded after

Chapter: Chapter 22: Legacy of the Moon
The sun rose slowly over Night Fang keep, bathing the forest in a warm, golden light that glinted off the snow-covered trees. Wolves padded softly along the ridges, ears twitching as young pups chased one another through the soft blankets of snow. The air was calm, filled with the quiet hum of life and the gentle rhythms of a pack finally at peace.
Alex sat on the ridge outside the main lodge, Aeron beside her, his arm draped casually over her shoulder. Her wolf rested beneath her, coiled and alert but no longer restless. The Moonstone amulet around her neck caught the first rays of sunlight, reflecting a glow that seemed almost alive.
“It’s… peaceful,” Alex murmured, letting the words float in the crisp morning air. “I never thought I’d see it like this.”
Aeron’s hand brushed hers, fingers interlaced. “You fought for it,” he said softly. “You and Night Fang. You didn’t just survive—you led them. You became Luna. And now, you’ve built something lasting.”
Alex exhaled, feeling a lightn

Chapter: Chapter 21: Bonds of The Moon
The first full moon after the battle hung high and luminous over Night Fang territory. Its silver light bathed the ridge, the lodge, and the surrounding forest in a serene glow. Wolves padded softly through the snow, their ears twitching and eyes bright with anticipation. Tonight was not about war, not about power, but about bonding, unity, and legacy.
Alex stood at the center of the ceremonial clearing, Aeron by her side. Her wolf surged beneath her skin, calm yet alive with energy. This was the moment she had longed for, though not in thought alone—but in the depth of the bond she had with Aeron, and the recognition of her own strength as Luna.
Aeron’s hand brushed hers lightly. “Tonight,” he said softly, “we don’t just unite as mates. We honor what you’ve survived, what you’ve fought for, and the pack you lead.”
Alex exhaled, letting the cold night air fill her lungs. “And we honor the Moon Goddess,” she whispered. “For guiding me, for choosing me, for showing me that strength isn’

Chapter: Chapter 20: Luna Rising
The snow had settled over Night Fang keep, soft and unbroken, the forest surrounding the ridge quiet, save for the occasional stir of wolves settling into their dens. The battle with Silver Moon was over, decisively won, and yet the air felt charged, as if the forest itself acknowledged the shift in power.
Alex stood atop the main ridge, looking over her pack, her wolves, her people. Aeron was beside her, silent as ever, his presence grounding her. The surviving warriors of Night Fang assembled below, tails low but eyes bright, waiting, watching.
“Alex…” Aeron said softly. “They’re looking at you. They’re waiting for the words that make you their Luna.”
Alex’s heart pounded—not from fear, but from the weight of responsibility. Her wolf coiled beneath her skin, tense and alert. “I…” she hesitated briefly, then straightened. Her voice, when she spoke, was steady and filled with authority: “Tonight, we survived. Tonight, we showed Silver Moon that Night Fang is ours. And from this night

Chapter: Chapter 19: Night Fang Counterpart
The moon hung low and silver over the forest, casting long shadows across the twisted pines and frozen riverbeds of Silver Moon territory. Night Fang moved like a shadow itself—silent, disciplined, and deadly. Alex’s breath came steady, her wolf surging beneath her skin, every muscle coiled and ready. Aeron walked beside her, eyes sharp, scanning for movement. Marcus and Soren flanked them, a perfect tandem of strength, precision, and mystical power.
“This is it,” Alex whispered, barely audible over the crunch of snow underfoot. “This is the moment we end them.”
Marcus’s eyes glowed faintly in the moonlight, wolf energy humming around him. “They won’t expect this,” he said. “They think we only defend. They’ve never faced Night Fang at its peak.”
Soren raised a hand, letting silver light dance along her fingers. “I’ve set wards to disrupt their defenses. Any ambush, any trick—they will feel it. But they may have surprises of their own. Be ready.”
Aeron’s voice was steady, precise, auth
