Chapter Five

Ellen's POV

The image of Max kept flashing in my head. I had been dreaming about him all day long. I couldn't concentrate on anything, I was doing. He was ruddy hot.

I didn't tell Rana about him, since the day I met him, which has not been 24 hours yet, because I didn't feel the need to, like my other, former crushes. But this guy was special. He needed attention.

Rana had gone to church but I had a profane attitude. I felt it was too much stress.

I heaved a sigh and sat on the living room floor.

"Max! Damn you! Why don't you get out of my head, for even a second." I groaned.

I felt a nudge and involuntarily squeaked.

"Now, who the hell is Max?" Someone said from behind me. Rana! Asshole.

I heaved a sigh then turned to look at her, giggling. I rolled my eyes.

"Rana?" I crossed my arms across my chest, arched an eyebrow.

"Who is disturbing my sister's brain now?" She grinned then sat beside me and started tugging her heels off, dropped her bag on a couch.

"Nobody." I rolled my eyes.

"What do you think I am? 5?" She frowned.

"I wish." I teased.

"Common Ellen. I'm not stupid." She arched her brows, questioning, and I knew she wanted an answer so quick.

I heaved a sigh then rolled my eyes. "Fine." I looked at her. She was grinning from ear to ear. I rolled my eyes.

"I'm listening." She said.

"Well. I was going to the..." I trailed off. I didn't want to tell her yet. What if he didn't like me back? What if I was over imagining things. Oh no. I gritted my teeth, tightened my jaw. I was really sweating despite the Air conditioner.

"Ellen!" Rana shook me, broke my thought cycle, drawing my attention back to the present.

"Are you okay?" I could sense worry in her tone.

"I'm fine." I waved my hand, trying to seem tough and unaffected by anything.

"Ellen!" She arched her eyebrow.

I rolled my eyes. "It's really nothing. I was just thinking too much. You get so emotional sometimes."

She pissed, even though nothing seemed funny at that moment.

"What?" I arched my eyebrows.

"Oh it's nothing. Now tell me who this Max of a guy is. Will you?" She smirked.

"Well... He... I... I don't know how but" I stuttered for absolutely no reason.

"Tell me now. Please." She pouted her lips and did the best puppy eyes I had ever seen.

I pissed. "Okay fine. Since you're pestering me, I'll tell you." I exhaled, still laughing. "I met this hot guy. Oh my. He is ruddy hot." I fanned myself with my hands.

"Oh my Gosh. You're blushing." She teased, poking me, which really tickled.

"Stop it Ran." I chuckled. "I won't talk anymore." I giggled then she stopped instantly.

"Please continue." She grinned.

"I wanted to buy some cinnamon at the bakery then I met this hot guy, Max. He was super hot." I felt my face go red hot then I clutched a pillow to my chest.

"Are you sure he likes you back?" She asked with concern written in her tone.

"Maybe." I gritted my teeth. I really didn't know of he did. "He did give me air kisses and made me feel special." I felt myself blush.

"Oh my. I'm so happy for you. It'll work out. I promise. That was how my boyfriend and I started." She drew me in for a tight hug.

"Don't worry. Your relationship will be established. I promise." She mumbled in the hug.

"I love you Rana." I whispered.

I left home really early. I wanted to her to school, earlier than usual.

I didn't want to take my car. I could trek to school. I needed to maintain my slim body. A trek to school would be 45 minutes.

I took a sandwich to eat. I couldn't eat enough. I was hurrying to go to school for no reasonable reason. Maybe it was the excitement of having to see or meet Max at school.

I brought my phone out of my pant pocket then started pinching the screen with my fingers. I had so many from people I knew and those I didn't know.

I saw a recent post of my mother. Sage was with another man, almost completely naked, wearing her underwear. She was such a slut. I placed my phone back into my back pockets. The sight of her annoyed me.

I heaved a sigh and tried to think of a way to stop thinking of her. I decided to sit on a bench by a bus stop. I was already tired. I hadn't ran or jugged in a while. I was always in a car so I was getting kind of lazy. I took my phone from my back pocket and sat on the bench.

I took a bottle of cold juice from my bag and began to gulp it down my throat.

I suddenly felt cold then removed my jacket, that I tied around my waist then wore it. I took my schoolbag, ready to move.

I started walking but a car horn disturbed me, I had to use my hands to block the sound from destroying my perfectly normal eardrum.

I tried to look into the car of the gadfly. I bent a little, so I could see the person's face, conveniently.

"Hey." The person waved from inside the car. It was Max. Oh no. I was going to go crazy at that instant.

What was he doing there? He was obviously going to school. Duh! I rolled my eyes at myself.

"Hey?" Max's arched his eyebrows in confusion.

"Sorry." I smiled and waved back.

"Would you mind a lift?" He asked. I bet he was ruddy hot.

"Yeah. Thanks." I said reluctantly. I could postpone trekking for that day, right? I grinned and entered his car, sitting on the seat beside his, the driver's seat.

He began to drive again.

"So..." He trailed off like he was thinking of what to say. "How have you been beautiful?" E grinned. Oh my. He called me beautiful. He is beautiful.

"I'm fine. What of you?" I could feel my face go red hot.

He chuckled for some reason I didn't understand.

"You blush a lot, you know?" He looked at me then immediately looked at the road.

I didn't know how to respond. I opened my mouth to talk but nothing came out. I just smiled.

"I'll be right back." He said then stopped the car.

"What?" I asked, involuntarily.

"Sorry sweetheart, meet you soon. Wait for me." He held my hand then planted a gentle kiss on it, before hopping out. That was weird but I couldn't process anything than love from his actions. I clutched my schoolbag to my chest.

I shut my eyes for a while.

"Hello sweetie." I heard a voice call.

I blinked several times before realizing where I was. I looked around then adjusted myself into a normal position.

I looked at the time. "Oh my gosh. It's 10:01am!" I yelled.

"Calm down baby." He said in the coolest way ever.

"What? I'm not calming down when I know I'll get into detention. Or, I'll go back home and not write my maths exams later this afternoon." I ranted.

"Hey. Listen." He said, trying to explain something that I didn't have the intention of listening to.

"Why didn't you wake me up?" I yelled like it was his fault. Well, it was.

"Why did I waste my time? Why didn't I just go late and know that it was my fault? Why didn't you wake me up?" I kept on ranting but immediately shut up when I felt a warm lips against mine.

It was Max's. He was... kissing me? It felt so good to be true. I blinked multiple times for confirmation. Was I still sleeping?

His warm lips disconnected from mine. So sad. I wanted it to last longer than forever.

"At least that shut you up." He smirked then started driving again.

I opened my mouth to say something, multiple times, but nothing came out. There was total silence between us as he drove us to school.

"Ellen!" Ava called, more or less screamed with her high pitched, baby-like voice which caused me to squeak.

She drew me in for a tight hug.

"Choking. Ava! Too tight." I managed to say and she immediately stopped hugging me.

"Oh yeah. Sorry. Now, where were you?" She asked as we walked down the hallway.

"Were you given detention for coming late?" She asked then we opened the school door to leave. She couldn't speak to me properly during school hours that's why she was pestering me.

We left the school. I knew we had to trek home. Ava didn't have a car.

"Are you hungry?" I asked because I was ruddy hungry.

"You bet it." She smacked my butt then we giggled.

We walked for a while then went to our favorite restaurant. We took the seat by the glass wall.

"No will you tell me?" She kept on pestering me.

"Okay fine." I grunted. "Let's order something to eat. I'm hungry."

I called a waitress then he came.

"Get me bread and tomato soup." I ordered.

"What of you? The same thing?" He asked Ava.

She scrunched her face. "Ew. No. I'm not sick." She frowned. "Get me any appetizer, main meal: Spicy chicken wraps. Desert: chocolate cake. Drinks: apple juice."

The waiter furrowed his brows but left without saying anything.

"Ava!" I scolded. "Are you really going to eat all that?"

"As long as you keep telling me whatever it is." She widened her eyes in amusement. "You came in with the fifth 'black zee'. Are you a thing now?" She squealed in excitement.

I couldn't help the blush.

"So. Its true." She drummed on the table.

"Ava!" I scolded.

"Sorry. Now tell me how it all went." She danced a little.

I heaved a sigh.

The waiter brought our food then she started eating like the food was going to run away.

"Now tell me." She said, not audible because of the food in her mouth.

"Well today. I met him, Max."

"Oh my gosh. He told you his name?!" She widened her eyes in amusement.

"Just stay quiet till I'm done, okay?" I imposed.

"Okay. Go on." She rolled her eyes.

"I was late, got into detention but he bailed me out due to his popularity in this school."

"Oh my. See who's blushing." She teased, poking me.

I rolled my eyes at her action then told her all about how I met Max, including 'the kiss.'
