Ellen's POV
"Please Rana!" I begged her, scurrying after her. She was ignoring me and went to the kitchen. I followed her.
"Stop pestering me and leave me alone. I'm not ready to go to that fashion designer with you." I had been begging Rana to go with me to choose the greatest designs for my graduation and prom clothes. My graduation was very soon!
"Rana! Please!" I pouted my lips and did the best puppy eye I could ever do.
"You should really stop that." She scoffed. "It doesn't suite you." She laughed. She opened the fridge and took a plate of cooked, frozen chicken from it.
"Rana! You know how much I hate begging humans?" I said abruptly.
"Then don't." She snapped. "Why the hell are you even begging me?" She placed the chicken in the microwave, turned it on.
I tried to create a fudge. I didn't want to choose any stupid design then later rue it because I wasn't thinking straight. I wanted someone to go with me and decide or advise me to choose the right dress.
I didn't want Rana to know that. She would have teased me, my entire life.
"Well... I... I need..." I stuttered.
"Tell me." She snapped, with a smirk.
I heaved a sigh. "Never mind. I'll go myself." I turned to leave.
"Okay. Bye." She giggled. I expected her to feel bad and call me back.
I sprinted out of the kitchen, refraining myself from going to meet her, yank her and whack her until she agreed.
I wasn't that gentle to be pleading. I was mean and always got what I wanted, especially when we always had the money, from our parents, when we needed it.
I went to my room, took a purse to keep my money and credit card.
I went downstairs and saw Rana on the couch, eating the chicken. She was watching a movie on the television. She smirked when she noticed my presence. I rolled my eyes at her.
"I'll soon be back." I announced.
"I don't care. Please stay longer." She said and drove her teeth into the helplessly dead chicken.
I rolled my eyes because I knew she was kidding. She would have had an heart attack if I didn't arrive on time. She would have been so worried. She was such a mom.
I went to my car.
"Take me to my fashion designer." I told my driver.
He didn't say anything but bent his head in respect, and started driving.
It was so boring. I yawned, decided to shut my eyes for a while.
"Hello Miss Greene. Miss Greene!" Someone tapped me, continuously.
"Leave me alone!" I groaned, turned to make myself comfortable from the uncomfortable position I was. I felt hassle.
"We are here." The person said.
"Where?" I asked, yawning, feeling sleepy.
"The fashion designer's shop." He gruffed. I could sense annoyance in his tone.
I blinked my eyes open then blinked multiple times, before realising the fancy place we were.
I sat down properly to look at my driver. He looked like he felt like slapping me awake.
"Oh sorry." I smiled.
"No, thanks." He obviously forced a smile.
He got down then turned to open the car door for me to go out.
"Thank you." I said when he opened the car door for me.
I walked into the familiar shop, it looked slightly different. The chandelier was different, the display dresses were different and other things that seemed irrelevant to me.
I grasped my purse to my hips, then walked to the supposed receptionist, sitting on a chair, with a small table in front of the chair.
"Hello. Good evening." The young receptionist greeted with a grin.
I didn't like her for absolutely no reason.
"I'm here to see Beth." I said, abruptly, looking cold, rude and formal.
She frowned. "Mrs Beth?!" She asked.
"No. Mr Beth." I answered sarcastically.
She sneered at me. "Do you have a meeting with her because I don't think you look like someone worth a penny." She eyed me from top to toe.
"What the hell did you just say?!" I yelled, furrowed my eyebrows. "I will teach you a lesson."
I tugged my sleeve up then clenched my fists ready to punch that rude asshole out of her.
She judged me by my clothes. I wore a simple gown. It was old but you don't judge a book by its cover.
I held her collar with one hand, threw my purse to the floor, grasped her face with the other hand.
"Don't ever mess with me!" I yelled. I didn't like judgemental, rude numbskulls.
I yanked her from the chair she was sitting then raised my hand to whack the asshole from her but a warm hand held me.
Beth rushed to meet me. She was the owner of this shop and it was one of the best.
She held my shoulders in fear and questioning eyes.
I turned around to look at the jerk that stopped me from hitting that spoilt brat.
I widened my eyes in shock on noticing the erect figure. It was Max! My hands began to fumble.
"Ellen?" He looked concerned. "Leave her alone." He said and left my arm. I loosed the lady from my grip completely.
"Max?!" I winced. "It's not what-"
"I know." He interrupted. "I saw what happened." He smiled.
He turned to the lady then Beth with a frown. "She should get fired immediately." He yelled.
"Yes sir." Beth fidgeted.
Sir? I thought she was the owner of this shop. I was totally confused by the ongoing scene.
"You are fired!" Beth yelled at the lady.
"I'm so sorry." She pleaded, then knelt down.
"Leave! Now!" Beth yelled.
"I am sorry." Her eyes were vague then she scurried to me, holding my hands together. "Please I'm sorry." Tears rolled down her cheeks and landed on her chest.
I rolled my eyes at her. I felt bad for her, then remembered what she did to me. I wasn't done with beating the hell out of her but this pain was enough for her.
I heaved a sigh. "Let it go guys." I said. I realised that she could be her family's breadwinner or treating a sick parent or other issues. I couldn't ruin her livelihood just for something silly.
"You sure?" Max held my shoulder which caused me to freeze.
I tried to speak bit nothing came out so I only nodded my head.
"Don't do it again." I gruffed then turned to Beth.
"Hey Ellen." She finally smiled then came to high me as usual.
"Hey darling." I kissed her cheek.
"What brings you here?" She asked, started to move and I involuntary followed.
I heard footsteps behind me then turned to look at Max following us.
"I want you to design the best dress for my graduation and prom." I snapped.
"Okay dear. The model's type, right?" She winked then stopped moving.
"Yes." I nodded.
"Are you-" She started but her phone rang, interrupting us.
She swiped it up to pick up.
"Hello." She said and looked at me. "Sorry. Got to go. See you soon." She scurried away.
I turned around and halted when I got reminded of Max's presence. He was grinning from ear to ear.
"Hi." He said, waved his hands.
"Hello." I gave a short smile.
"I also came here for the same purpose as you." He stated.
"Oh. Okay." I tightened my lips together, grunted and nodded my head.
"Let's look around." He raised his brows, questioningly and held my hands.
I grunted in agreement then he laced our fingers together. It made my blood feel cold as my heart was pounding faster than ever.
He nudged me and started walking. I looked into his eyes, since he wasn't looking at me.
"Stop admiring me." He suddenly said, not looking at me and I flinched.
"Sorry." I apologised for no reason.
He chuckled. "You're sweet." He complimented and I could feel my face go red.
I noticed a black, feathery gown in a show glass. I looked at it, admiring its beauty and imagined how it would have looked on me.
"Do you want it?" Max's snapped, causing me to flinch.
"No thanks." I said immediately.
His smile changed to a sad look, which caused me to feel a little bit bad.
"I'm so-" I started to apologise but was immediately interrupted.
"Wait here." He smiled and scuttled away.
Few minutes later,
He came out holding a bag and scurried to meet me.
"What's this?" I asked for confirmation.
He slowly brought out the dress from it.
I opened my mouth to appreciate but I was too shocked to say anything.
"Thank you so much!" I managed to vomit those words out.
"Is that how to appreciate a person who loves you." He smirked and my face went red hot. "You'll have to go on a date with me wearing that dress."
He loved me?! Already?! I was so excited that I didn't know when I accidentally made an electrifying connection between our lips.
Traven's POVEllen wasn't noticing my presence but talking with Beth about clothes for her graduation and prom. I rolled my eyes at her. She was taking those things as a big deal? Well, I guessed that was the way all girls were.I had to win the bet of the 'Black Zees'.Recall..."Hey guys." Ronald, the first, leader of our group, gruffed.Everyone stopped whatever they were doing and assembled around him.He nodded his head. "There's a new bet, and whoever wins it stands the chance of being promoted in this group." He informed with vexation."What's the bet?" I asked, curiously. I was the only one brave enough to talk or ask questions when Ronald was talking. The rest just always went dumb.He frowned. "I'm not done talking." He waved in chafe.
Traven's POVI was thwart, at the fact that Rana was ready to leave, but I agreed to go on the date.I craned my neck to look at Rana. She looked really excited. I felt like an asshole for cheating on her. I promised, after high school, she would be the only woman in my life. Or, Ellen.I heaved a sigh and took a bite of my Beans on toast."I'm sorry for yelling." Rana bent her head, in abash."It's fine." I grinned and brought my phone out of my pocket. I went to the ringtone to make it seem like I had a phone call."Hello." I smiled. "Dad?" I looked at Rana. "Oh. Yes. I'm coming." I placed the phone back in my pocket."You're leaving?" She frowned, sadness registered in her tone.I heaved a sigh, drove my fingers into my hair. "No. I have to meet my dad for business. I'll be right back." I pla
Traven's POVI wrapped my arm around Ellen's waist, held the back of her head, tight, with the help of the hand of my other arm, and forced a hard kiss on her lips.I could tell that she was completely shocked, but melted into the sensation.I didn't want to break the kiss at that moment. It felt so good.I shut my eyes for a while, and, opened it. My eyes met with Rana's, across the road. It was really shocking. What was she doing there? Her eyes expressed a painful astonishment. I could feel my heart sink to my feet.None of my girlfriends, ever caught me cheating. Why Rana?!Tears rolled down her cheeks and her eyes became, instantly red. She shook her head, sobbing. Her entire body was vibrating.I didn't realise that I hadn't broken the kiss until she turned, and ran away with a very great speed.
Rana's POVI sprinted to the living room."Ellen." I hollered.I noticed Ellen sitting on the chair and reading a newspaper. That was awkward, but I decided to brush it off with a shake of head."Ellen." I sat beside her."What?" She glared."Traven said he is coming over." I wailed unexpectedly."So?" She rolled her eyes."I don't want to see him. I am not ready for that. I am in enough pain." I sniffed, wiped the tears on my cheeks."I know, but you have to talk." She smiled, dropped the tedious newspaper, on the table. She rested her palms on my thigh, heaved a sigh."I don't want to see that asshole. I can't believe he cheated. It drives me crazy when I think about it." I sobbed."You still have to listen to him." She stood up, placed her hands on her hips with a rol
Traven's POV"Rana," I exhaled deeply, biting my lower lips in vexation, clutching the wheels of my car.She cut the call before I could say anything else.Furiously, I turned to Eve. "What's your problem?" I questioned, saying every word slowly like I was reading it from a eye test chart. She crossed her arms on her chest, ignoring the inferior items on her hands."I should be asking you that." She pouted her lips towards the direction of her left chin. "You're obviously cheating." She tapped her foot on the ground impetuously.I sighed in displeasure. "See, Eve, I don't have your time." I started the car."Eve?" She widened her eyes angrily. "I'm Daisy
I found it difficult to believe it but it was no one other than Traven.I exhaled a sigh of relief. At least it wasn't some stranger. I was glad about that but why did he kidnap me?I shook the sack off my body completely."Listen, Rana," he heaved a sigh. He seemed sad which he definitely deserved. "I'm really sorry but I can't do without you. I told you that I didn't cheat and I don't expect you to believe me but trust me." He made a sad, short smile. "I don't know how to make you believe me but I promise that after high school. I'll take care of you and you'll be mine forever."I tried to talk but my mouth was still tied. I squeezed my face, indicating that he untied me."I know you w
Traven's POVWell, it was finally our graduation ceremony. I gently buttoned the necessary buttons of my T-shirt, sprayed my exorbitant cologne excessively. I preferred being noticed anywhere I went to.
Ellen's POVI was in an utmost rage bearing to the fact that I had been calling Max but he wasn't even answering my phone calls. I had even texted him but no reply.
