After having two shots of tequila, Vida switched to a glass of low-content alcohol; as much as she wanted alcohol in her system, she did not want to have to make a fool of herself. Especially with Cynthia in the room, it would only give the older woman a reason to be mean to her and act like she was a nuisance.

She was all by herself when a man approached her. She did not want to talk to him, but then something clicked in her mind: if Axel could entertain that woman who was obviously trying to be coy, then why couldn't she do the same? Tit for Tat.

"Why is such a pretty woman sitting all by herself?" the man asked, and she almost jumped at the cringy way of talking.

"Who said pretty women can't sit by themselves?" Vida asked, and he laughed, sitting beside her.

"Well, just in case it's a crime, I am going to keep you company for the night," he said, stretching his hand to her. She giggled, trying to act shy as she took his hand. They had a brief handshake before they pulled away.

    Vida was ready to storm off, but she could not since Axel was still holding onto her. She realised that if she could not storm off, she was going to go off on him and ask why he thought it was a good idea to do that in the middle of the room. Before she could get the words running, a business associate approached them and reminded them of what they were supposed to be portraying. They both acted as if nothing had happened and smiled. The rest of the night went by really fast as the business associates kept on coming their way.Everyone wanted to meet the new couple and talk business with Axel while Vida stood by his side like some sort of mannequin, smiling the entire night.     Axel was a bit worried about how good Vida was looking; he feared that when people saw her, they would be unable to take their eyes off her. He wished he had a little more power to beg her not to wear something that made her look like a goddess. He felt jealousy seeping into his veins as they walked in, and the eyes of men lingered. He, however, felt proud at the same time. He loved how well she looked and how well she complimented him.
