As Vida walked to the room, she felt a bit embarrassed that she had insisted on getting her own room only to return without achieving her goal. She wondered how she was going to face Axel and how he was going to react. She had gone in a hurry, and she had failed to take the key card with her. She stood by the door contemplating if she could escape and go back to the city, but unfortunately, everything she owned was inside the room, and she only had her phone with her—no passport, no money, no cards—and there was a limit to how much money she could send over mobile transfer.

She sighed loudly and knocked on the door gently. Everything was silent, so she could hear the footsteps walk to the door and then it unlocked before swinging open to reveal Axel in the room. She stepped in without a word, and Axel allowed her in. They both stood in the middle of the room surveying the place without any words.

"There were no rooms," Vida said to break the silence between them. "Apparently the entir

Vida was enjoying the tour way more than she wanted to admit. Her father and Maria always seemed to make sure she had fun in life. One of the stops on the bus was at a museum, and Vida was fascinated by all of the artworks and things they saw in there."You are such a geek," she exclaimed when Axel explained everything in the museum to her. She would not deny it; it was better to listen to Axel's explanation than the tour guide, as Axel made sure to break it down in a way she could understand without thinking too much about it."Well, thank you." She was shocked that he was not bothered by her sudden outburst at him. If it were any normal person, they would have thought that she was rude for saying something like that without thinking about it. The smile on her face told Axel that she was having a good time even if she was too proud to admit it. She had agreed out of respect for her father, but now she was happier to be there, having fun. Like the locals and the advice from the tou

By the time Vida woke up the next morning, she was not glad with Axel's suggestion of them exploring the city. She wanted to lie in bed and sleep all day or read one of the numerous books she had brought with her. Axel, on the other hand, was insisting that they go out.He wanted to spend time with her, but could not bring himself to say it to her face. She would throw a fit and act like a toddler if she did so. "I do not think it's a good idea for us to be out and about," Vida said, and Axel shook his head.He had disagreed with her on a lot of things before, but this was the first time he was being plain about it to her face, and that caused shock to her."Why not?" He shot at her, and she swallowed."We are not a real couple; why can't we just stay indoors?" She asked and realised that it might even be more dangerous for both of them to be locked in all day. "I mean, you can go out and sightsee while I sit in here and catch up on my reading," she corrected, so he didn't get the wr

Vida's flight had left Axel in a state of shock; he did not know why he kept on messing up with Vida. He had been so sure that he was going to use this opportunity to level up with Vida and make her see the good in him but he kept on doing the opposite of that and it made him restless. He could hear silent sobs from Voda and that broke his heart. The last thing he had wanted to do was make her cry. This honeymoon was supposed to be a time to take him out of the hating region but instead it seemed to be plunging him further in.He walked up to the door and pounded on it lightly. "Vida? Are you okay?"The sobs stopped but it was only momentarily before she continued. "I am sorry, okay? And yes, I am not a gentleman but I should have done better," he added but was met with silence."I only reacted that way because I did not know what else to do; please understand." He wished that she would at least say something so he knew she was fine."Leave me alone," he sighed, sad that was her respo

Axel stands there watching and staring at her while Vida stands still, hoping he will somehow walk away without making her uncomfortable. Her hand was still gripping the handle of the suitcase tightly; she had to put it in the corner. He looked as if he wanted to ask her some questions, and she was not in the mood to answer any of them if he decided to go ahead with it. She cleared her throat, and he stopped his mind from spinning. He had stepped out to answer Maria's call. The woman had been a bit worried about them and just wanted to know if they had gone in safely, and he did not want her to hear the conversation as well. She spun around to push the suitcase into the corner, and the towel she had thought was securely wrapped around her waist unrolled itself and fell down to her ankles. She felt mortified by what had just happened, her face getting red with embarrassment and anger. Since her back was to him, she could not bring herself to turn back at him and wished the ground would

Vida stood under the shower for a while, allowing herself to be soaked in the warm water until all the knots she felt in her skin slowly washed away. She washed herself and then came out; it was then she realised she had to get her things so she might have to dress in front of Axel. She decided that the best thing to do to avoid that was to get the things and get back into the bathroom to dress. When she stepped into the room with a towel wrapped firmly around her chest and her hand holding on to it to avoid any slipping, she was surprised and grateful to see a cart of food waiting for her. Axel was also nowhere to be found so she hurriedly picked up her suitcase and began to rummage through it to find the right pyjamas for herself. It was only then that she remembered that Anna had changed out everything she had put inside her luggage and now everything inside the bag was suggestive or covered nothing at all. It was the kind of thing that a woman who was truly on her honeymoon would
