DANTE
I knew before he said it what he wanted.
Tension filled the air between us, sparks of anger and malice hidden from human eyes.
And our eyes.
“I’m not giving you Amber. I’m prepared to fight you.” I announced, glaring at my brother. “I’m done with this shit, Dominic. I’d rather you were dead; at least then I could run this pack and have my woman by my side.”
I clutched my heart dramatically as I rolled my eyes.
“Oh, Dante, you kill me.”
“What’s it gonna be?”
Dominic studied me through steepled fingers, his head moving side to side as he cracked the bones in his neck.
“I guess the pack must come first,” Dominic said, surprising me. “I was going to ask you if you could bring Amber here. Even if she was around…”
His words trailed off, and I swallowed, refusing to trust him.
