AMBER

My fingers stroked the ground beneath them, clawing at the damp gravel. 

I inhaled, or at least, I tried to, but something was stuffed in my mouth, making me gag. 

What the hell?

I tried to move, but pain shot through my head and back, forcing me to stay still.

I wiggled my toes, relieved when I felt them rubbing against the dirt. 

I’m barefoot.
