Amber stared at me with surprise, the fight in her eyes dying as she absorbed my words. The ticking of the clock on the wall was beginning to irritate the fuck out of me, but this commanded my attention.
“Dante, I’m human!”
I nodded. “I know that. But it’s not unheard of, you know. You’re the only woman I want, Amber.”
Her body went limp beneath me, and I released her wrists, watching as she scrambled up to sit on her knees. Her hair fell in waves around her porcelain skin, and I knew if she said no, I was taking her anyway.
