Wedding day

"Miss Watson, please sign in here and we may be completed with the registry procedure of the marriage." The family lawyer of Watson's said while pointing at some places on the file.

Sarah clutched the pen in her hand tightly after hearing him. Suddenly she felt suffocation. As if the words of the marriage registry paper were mocking and taunting her. Her hands started to shake as she looked down at the paper. Every word in the paper seemed to mock her, they were laughing at her, making her feel overwhelmed.

Today is the day when she gets married. The day when she gets married to the family driver who was sitting beside her but what an irony! She has yet to see his face. She doesn't even want to look at him. This marriage, she doesn't want it! Yet she is doing it! Why?!

Today is the day for which she was preparing herself from the last one week after her parents dropped the bomb on her, yet she is feeling so unprepared. Suddenly a lot of negative thoughts started to knock her senses, making her feel insecure and unsure. She didn't know what to do and why was she feeling like that suddenly.

What is she doing?! Why is she doing this?! She is going to bind her future with a man about whom she knows nothing about.

She will never give him any rights to be her husband. She will never. She will never let him come near her. Never. She will never accept this marriage.

"Sarah?" Someone softly called her name, grabbing her attention from those disturbing thoughts. She was sweating by then as she looked at her father with a pale face. She was looking as if she just saw a ghost.

It's been seven days since she and her father had that huge fight where her father demanded for this marriage which is capable enough to turn her life upside down. Since then she didn't return to her house and stayed in her apartment, away from this full of dramatic area, near to her event managing office, lost in thoughts. She kept her contact with her mom though.

Today, in this event, only six people were present. She, her parents, that man, the lawyer and Helena Watson.

Helena Watson was looking at her with a blank look on her face. She was expecting this kind of reaction from her already. She wouldn't be surprised if she backs out from the wedding at this moment and that's what she wants. It will make everything easier. It can happen.

Since Sarah's childhood, she grew up between lavishness. Her father has given her everything she ever wanted even though her wants were always really small. She definitely won't agree to marry a driver, leaving her life of luxury. That's why she denied having any function for the wedding. Whatever happens today, everything is going to be beneficial for her.

As far as she knew Sarah, she was sure that Sarah just took the marriage as a challenge, from which she was going to back out now because she may have realised that it's not a challenge but a sacrifice and a woman like her who is independent and hot headed is definitely not up for sacrificing her freedom like this. Also she is Watson! Class and social status is a really important thing for her. No way in hell she is going to sacrifice it for her father's wish.

Helena Watson smirked at her thoughts and thought to give some oil into the fire. Unaware of the fact that someone has seen her crooked look.

"Sarah, you don't have to do it if you don't want to. I understand that you don't trust my decision and that's why even after I said that he is going to be your perfect husband, you are still hesitating. You -..." She started to say with an assuring look when she was suddenly stopped by Sarah's next set of actions.

Sarah signed all the papers without any hesitation, leaving everyone present in the room shocked and bewildered. The room went pin dropping silent for a moment.

"Now, I pronounce you both lawfully married couples!" The lawyer declared after coming out of the shock.

The pen fell from her hands as soon as she realised what she just did and she looked at the lawyer with widened eyes before getting up from the couch in a bolt and ran outside the mansion in a blink of an eye, leaving her newly wedded husband behind. She didn't give him a look before running out.

She came out of the mansion and stood under the open sky of the bright night. She was taking deep breaths to calm her breathing down as she still couldn't understand what just happened. The words of the lawyer rang in her ears like a broken radio and she couldn't take it anymore.

She looked up at the sky which was exceptionally bright today which enhanced her beauty more. She is a beautiful girl with golden brown long hair and ocean green eyes, exclaimed while throwing her arms around in frustration. She had a model-like body and height.

She looked at the sky with an angry look and saw that the moon was shining brightly and the whole sky was filled with shining stars, making the sky look like a diamond studded mattress. The beauty and the shine of the night irked her as she gritted her teeth.

"Even you are mocking me, huh? The shine of my life is just taken away from me and you are laughing at my misery too by shining so bright, huh?! Why are you so happy today?!" She shouted at the beautiful sky to let out the defeat she was feeling at that moment.

"This marriage is a misery to you, huh?" Someone said from behind, making her jump a little as she looked down but didn't turn around. She never heard that voice before and had a wild guess about whom that voice belonged to.

Her husband…

She instantly hated her last thought.

"That's nothing but misery to me, just like you are a stranger to me. These two things will never change. But these are not the same for the world and my family, so act like a good son-in-law in front of everyone. Tomorrow is the reception party. Don't forget my words." She said with a lot of hatred in her tone before walking toward her car with long steps to drive away from there as soon as she could.

"Won't you even look at me?" He stopped her with something in his tone which she couldn't recognise.

"Are you even worth looking at?" She said in a blank tone before getting inside the car and drove away within a few seconds, leaving her newly wedded husband once again.

If only she knew that it's all going to change.

He just stood there with a blank look on his face as he watched his newly wedded wife drive away from him.
