A FEW DAYS LATER
"Close the door behind you, Elijah." Helena Watson ordered in her cold tone while not removing her eyes from the file she was reading.
Elijah abided by the order quickly and closed the door behind him carefully before walking toward her table obediently. His face was void of any emotions as he stood in front of her, preparing himself for the upcoming stressful hour.
"What can I help you with today, ma'am?" Elijah spoke up after a few moments of silently standing there.
She looked up from the file and gave him a long look.
"Sit down on the chair, Elijah. It's going to take time." She said with a cunning look which he immediately took a note of. She closed the file and concentrated on him. She kept her eyes on his every move.
He hesitantly pulled the chair a little back before sitting down on it stiffly. He looked at her after sitting down and his face portrayed the look of confusion and discomfort which Helena liked.
"How is life going from the time of the marriage?" Helena asked casually but her look said otherwise. "I hope you remember why you are here and what you have to do." She said as her tone and posture changed from smiling to dark. It made Elijah gulp visibly but he immediately changed his expression back to blank as he understood what he was referring to.
"Yes, ma'am, I remember and I will always be grateful to you for 'That'. I know that no matter what I do, I can never pay you for 'That'. I will do anything for you. Even betray Miss Sarah, my newly wedded wife." He said with a blank look on his handsome face as he remembered what he was doing here and how he ended up here as a pawn of Helena Watson's game.
One month ago, Helena Watson was attacked by her enemies on a dark night. She had a really important party to attend and it was really late when she was returning from the party. She always has herself surrounded with guards but that day she didn't notice that her guards weren't following her.
Suddenly the car stopped in the middle of the road. Her driver got down from the car and opened her side of the door and dragged her outside. That's when she noticed that it wasn't her driver but a serial killer who was appointed by her enemies. They were in a dark valley. No one was around.
The serial killer was going to kill her without any words and wasting time. She had closed her eyes tightly to embrace the darkness as she knew that there wasn't any escape here. But when she didn't hear anything for a minute or so, she opened her eyes to see a man standing there with a log in his hand and the serial killer was lying on the ground in a pool of his own blood. That young man was Elijah, who had saved her that day by hitting the serial killer on the head.
Everything isn't as simple as everyone thinks. There are more into the story of that night when Elijah saved her which made him bound to Helena's command. There is something which nobody knows about. A secret between him and Helena.
"Good. I hope you will not forget that ever too because it will help you in the longer run. Just remember I still hold the strings." Helena said in a devilish tone.
Elijah nodded at her, very well knowing that whatever she was saying wasn't lying in any way.
"Yes, ma'am." He forced the word out of him with difficulty which Helena noticed.
She was happy to see him miserable in front of him. It's good for her. The more helpless he is, the more it will be helpful to her to handle John and Sarah.
"Now that I reminded you of the important things, I will remind you of the things regarding this marriage too." She said and he kept quiet. "No one should know why you are married to her. Everyone must know that you have married her because I want to show gratitude to you for saving my life. No one should know the actual reason and from now on till the time you are into the marriage, you are going to do everything I say without letting anyone know. Do you understand?" She asked in a stern tone.
"Yes, ma'am. But what if Miss Sarah interferes in my activities and questions me about something which you asked me to do?" He asked with the same blank face.
"Well, that's your thing to handle but you must keep in mind that you can't bring me to the spotlight." She replied with a sick smirk. "Also, as much as I know Sarah, she is a girl full of morals and values but also full of pride and stubbornness. She believes in love in marriage. She won't even sleep in the same room as yours, let alone taking time to mend in your business. She would clearly keep you out of her personal life as long as it doesn't matter to her." She said with a knowing look on her face.
"I think she is going to apply for a divorce as soon as THE RACE is over after all that's why she agreed to get married but that doesn't bother me because before that I will get what I want already." Helena said with an evil laugh.
The race. The race for the throne. Everything revolves around it only.
"What do you want me to do now, ma'am?" Elijah asked after a few seconds of silence.
"For now, you need to get close to her. You need to be really close to her in order to put our plan in action. I will arrange a date for you two in a restaurant. Be present there and do everything to get close to her." She ordered.
"But ma'am, what if she refuses to come on the date?" He asked.
"You don't have to worry about that. I will handle that. Just prepare what you have to do for the date. Now you can go." She said in a dismissive tone.
Elijah silently got up to leave. He doesn't know what the future with this marriage holds for him but he didn't like the sound of it from her at all. But guess he couldn't do anything either.
Who knows what fate holds for him… and everyone else…
Leave me a review and give me a lot of gems!
SOMEWHERE IN THE CITY "What's the plan now, boss?" A man in black suit asked his boss who was sitting in front of him, in darkness, with a lot of seriousness. "The plan was always the destruction of the Watson's, Jonah. It's never going to change until it's done." The man in the dark said to his employee, Jonah who nodded at him with a serious look on his face. "Yes, boss and their destruction is already knocking on their door." Jonah said with a confident smirk on his face which impressed his boss. "Where is 'he', Jonah?" The man asked after a few seconds, noticing that someone really important was missing from the meeting. "He had a late night meeting for his personal business, he should be here soon." As soon as Jonah was done explaining, there was a knock on the door and a voice came from the other side of the room. "May I co
TWO DAYS LATER "Hey, you! Come here!" A really arrogant girl in her early twenty called Elijah who was standing almost ten steps away from her, beside her oldie grandmother's luxurious car. She is Samantha Watson, another hire of the Watson family. She is young and beautiful but most of the beauty is artificial on her face as starting from the eyelashes to her teeth, they are all fake. From the look of her, it looks like she had done her lip and nose job quite a few times at this age. She was wearing a tight short dress while her dyed blonde hair was left open. She was wearing sunglasses which is why her eyes weren't visible and she was continuously fanning herself as the sun was shining hot. Samantha is a model, a Victoria secret model to be exact. She was in the Maldives for her shoot for the past two months. She has heard a lot about this handsome man standing in front of her from her cousin sister, Natash
"Look, who just walked in?" Samantha asked with crossed hands and an arrogant look on her face the moment Sarah and Jordan walked inside the living room of the Watson mansion. "Oh, you are talking about 'the walking bad luck'?" Natasha added after her and they both started to laugh together while sharing a high five. Sarah rolled her eyes at them. They both are older in age than her yet they behave like some freaking high school mean teenage girls. She ignored them and was going to walk past them when Natasha put her leg in her way to make her trip. Sarah wasn't looking and the moment she was going to walk past Natasha, she tripped on Natasha's leg and lost her balance. She was going to fall down and kiss the ground when Jordan got a hold of her waist at the right moment and saved her by pulling her up. "Are you alright?" He asked in a worried tone while still holding her by the waist.
"Everyone take your seats." She ordered in an authoritative tone which no one can disobey. The living room was divided into four sections. Three of them for three families and one for Helena Watson. Helena walked toward the lavish single couch which was specially made and designed for her only. Everyone sat down. Sarah was sitting beside her mother while her mother was sitting between her and her father. Helena gave all of them a small nod before starting the meeting. "So, almost all of us know why we all gathered here today. Yet I would like to address the issue again." She started saying. Sarah fisted her hands and gritted her teeth when such an important topic of her life was being subjected as 'an issue'. "It's about the news of Sarah's marriage!" "The heck is it about?!" Jordan shrieked out as soon as he heard He
"That's insane, grandma! Are you in the right state of your mind? How can you even think of something like this?!" Jordan exclaimed in frustration while looking at everyone in disbelief. Apart from him, no one said anything nor did they protest which frustrated him even more. "Jordan, calm down. It's our matter. Let us handle this." Sarah said with a lot of difficulty while looking down. Jordan scoffed at her after hearing her. He knew that she wasn't happy at all with all the things happening but like the good daughter and sacrificer she is, she didn't say a word against it or for her defence. He looked at her parents. "Uncle John? At least you say something? How did you keep quiet after hearing something like this and even agreed to it?! It's so unfair! Here your only daughter is married to a driver? Didn't you think she deserves much more than that? Also, why only her? Why not Samantha or Natas
"Yes, Mary? What's the status?" Sarah asked while walking toward her car after she walked out of the mansion. Mary is her secretary, also her best friend. They aren't friends from college days or anything because Sarah didn't have time to make friends or socialize. She was well known as the nerd throughout her high school and college days. But puberty hit hard when she raised beautifully as well as successfully and all those who called her names felt an invisible slap on their faces. Whatever she and Mary met when Sarah badly needed a hard-working and dedicated secretary and Mary needed a sincere and 'reasonable' boss. At last, they both were the perfect match for each other and they clicked immediately. Them being of the same age also helped a lot. Apart from boss and secretary or friends, they also fulfilled their duties toward each other as great advisors. At this moment, Sarah could use some of her advice right now.
The Next Day "Hello, ma'am. How can I come to your service today?" Elijah asked as he stood in front of Helena Watson with his head down. "Oh, Elijah. Did you come? Good. Come and have a seat!" Helena invited her into his office while he stood in front of the table with an obedient look on his face. "It's fine, ma'am Helena, I prefer standing in front of you." He replied which made Helena smirk to herself in pride because of the respect she is getting from him. Helena Watson is a woman of pride. She likes to be the centre of attraction. She always wants the spotlight on her only but obviously in positive ways. So, she likes it when someone praises her, butter her, respect her, and be submissive in front of her. It gives fire to her ego. "As you prefer." Helena nodded at her and gave him a small nod. His head was held up but he wasn't looking in her eye
"I really appreciate you coming on time." Sarah said while looking away from him as she couldn't find anything else to say. It's been more than five minutes since he entered the room. But none of them said a single word yet. Elijah kept standing by the door with an emotionless e
