A FEW DAYS LATER
"Close the door behind you, Elijah." Helena Watson ordered in her cold tone while not removing her eyes from the file she was reading.
Elijah abided by the order quickly and closed the door behind him carefully before walking toward her table obediently. His face was void of any emotions as he stood in front of her, preparing himself for the upcoming stressful hour.
"What can I help you with today, ma'am?" Elijah spoke up after a few moments of silently standing there.
She looked up from the file and gave him a long look.
"Sit down on the chair, Elijah. It's going to take time." She said with a cunning look which he immediately took a note of. She closed the file and concentrated on him. She kept her eyes on his every move.
He hesitantly pulled the chair a little back before sitting down on it stiffly. He looked at her after sitting down and his face portrayed the look of confusion and discomfort which Helena liked.
"How is life going from the time of the marriage?" Helena asked casually but her look said otherwise. "I hope you remember why you are here and what you have to do." She said as her tone and posture changed from smiling to dark. It made Elijah gulp visibly but he immediately changed his expression back to blank as he understood what he was referring to.
"Yes, ma'am, I remember and I will always be grateful to you for 'That'. I know that no matter what I do, I can never pay you for 'That'. I will do anything for you. Even betray Miss Sarah, my newly wedded wife." He said with a blank look on his handsome face as he remembered what he was doing here and how he ended up here as a pawn of Helena Watson's game.
One month ago, Helena Watson was attacked by her enemies on a dark night. She had a really important party to attend and it was really late when she was returning from the party. She always has herself surrounded with guards but that day she didn't notice that her guards weren't following her.
Suddenly the car stopped in the middle of the road. Her driver got down from the car and opened her side of the door and dragged her outside. That's when she noticed that it wasn't her driver but a serial killer who was appointed by her enemies. They were in a dark valley. No one was around.
The serial killer was going to kill her without any words and wasting time. She had closed her eyes tightly to embrace the darkness as she knew that there wasn't any escape here. But when she didn't hear anything for a minute or so, she opened her eyes to see a man standing there with a log in his hand and the serial killer was lying on the ground in a pool of his own blood. That young man was Elijah, who had saved her that day by hitting the serial killer on the head.
Everything isn't as simple as everyone thinks. There are more into the story of that night when Elijah saved her which made him bound to Helena's command. There is something which nobody knows about. A secret between him and Helena.
"Good. I hope you will not forget that ever too because it will help you in the longer run. Just remember I still hold the strings." Helena said in a devilish tone.
Elijah nodded at her, very well knowing that whatever she was saying wasn't lying in any way.
"Yes, ma'am." He forced the word out of him with difficulty which Helena noticed.
She was happy to see him miserable in front of him. It's good for her. The more helpless he is, the more it will be helpful to her to handle John and Sarah.
"Now that I reminded you of the important things, I will remind you of the things regarding this marriage too." She said and he kept quiet. "No one should know why you are married to her. Everyone must know that you have married her because I want to show gratitude to you for saving my life. No one should know the actual reason and from now on till the time you are into the marriage, you are going to do everything I say without letting anyone know. Do you understand?" She asked in a stern tone.
"Yes, ma'am. But what if Miss Sarah interferes in my activities and questions me about something which you asked me to do?" He asked with the same blank face.
"Well, that's your thing to handle but you must keep in mind that you can't bring me to the spotlight." She replied with a sick smirk. "Also, as much as I know Sarah, she is a girl full of morals and values but also full of pride and stubbornness. She believes in love in marriage. She won't even sleep in the same room as yours, let alone taking time to mend in your business. She would clearly keep you out of her personal life as long as it doesn't matter to her." She said with a knowing look on her face.
"I think she is going to apply for a divorce as soon as THE RACE is over after all that's why she agreed to get married but that doesn't bother me because before that I will get what I want already." Helena said with an evil laugh.
The race. The race for the throne. Everything revolves around it only.
"What do you want me to do now, ma'am?" Elijah asked after a few seconds of silence.
"For now, you need to get close to her. You need to be really close to her in order to put our plan in action. I will arrange a date for you two in a restaurant. Be present there and do everything to get close to her." She ordered.
"But ma'am, what if she refuses to come on the date?" He asked.
"You don't have to worry about that. I will handle that. Just prepare what you have to do for the date. Now you can go." She said in a dismissive tone.
Elijah silently got up to leave. He doesn't know what the future with this marriage holds for him but he didn't like the sound of it from her at all. But guess he couldn't do anything either.
Who knows what fate holds for him… and everyone else…
Leave me a review and give me a lot of gems!
"Where is she?""How is she?""How did this happen?""I want to see her!"Four different voices exclaimed as they all made an entry at the same time. Elijah, who was lost in deep thoughts, came back to the world and looked at them in a little shock. There was Jonah, Mary, Nick and Natasha who one after another said and asked those things. All of their faces were filled with worry and fear. But among them, Natasha's expression surprised him a lot. It looks like she cried on her way here. She was that scared for Sarah! Unbelievable!"Elijah? Back to earth and tell us what happened here?!" Natasha exclaimed once again as she shook him.He looked at her with a small frown looking at the closed hospital door with a clenched jaw."Sarah is in there,
“Where is Sarah?” Elijah asked with a frown as he looked around the room, looking for her frantically. “Who are you looking for, sir?” A doctor asked in confusion after coming forward. “Sarah! Where is she?” Elijah asked in a panicked tone as he just remembered her. He remembered that she didn’t sound good when they were talking on the phone. She must be in some danger. He felt like beating himself up for forgetting about her. “Who is Sarah, sir?” The doctor asked in a fearful tone. “The one who called me to inform me about Eliana! She was here. I heard you guys when we were on a call. Where is she now?” He asked at the top of his voice. The doctor got scared once again. “We didn’t see anyone when we came here, sir. We got busy with Miss Eliana as soon as we entered the room.” The doctor said and he let out a frustrated groan. “Only god
Elijah felt like his whole body was going to turn cold in anticipation and fear. He tried to call Sarah quite a few times. It kept ringing but no one picked it up. He called the guards as well but no one was picking up the call. He gritted his teeth hard in anger. He was going to kill all of them. He reached the hospital and ran inside it, leaving the car unattended, without parking. He ran toward the elevator to find it taking longer to come down as usual but he didn't have much time. So, he ran toward the stairs to take it to reach the floor where his sister was. Hopefully Sarah was there too. "Oh god! Please let both of them be safe. They both mean a lot to me. They are my everything. Please god. I have begged you for a lot of time but he never showed any mercy but please just this one." He prayed loudly and frantically as he ran upstairs. He was breathless by the time he reached the floor. His heart start
Sarah forgot about everything else at that moment and walked toward the hospital room as fast as she could. She came to meet Eliana. She was supposed to stay there with Eliana for a few minutes before going to the office. She had a really important meeting today which she can't postpone or delay anymore because that's going to mess up her schedule. As she neared the room, she suddenly felt a bad energy coming from the room. The feeling was nerve wracking. It made her heart beat badly, for some negative vibe. She felt so scared suddenly and she didn't know why she was feeling so but it made her want to curl in some corner. It was so so bad! She slowly advanced to the room where Eliana was. Her heart was still beating crazily while her leg was wobbling. Her hand was shaking as she put her hand on the handle. She took some deep breaths. She looked back at the guards and they were still looking at their front with no expressions on their fac
THE NEXT MORNING "Good morning, beautiful." Sarah rolled her eyes at his new nickname and cheekiness. "Good morning, Mr King. Can you please tell me where you find such nicknames every new day?" Sarah asked with a sigh while walking through the hospital corridor. "Well, that's for me to know and you to find out." He said with the same level of cheekiness. She shook her head at him. "How are you today?" He asked after a few seconds. "I am good." She answered in a casual tone. "Are you happy?" He asked once again, making her confused. "Why are you asking that?" She asked with a raised eyebrow which obviously he couldn't see. "Well, you got your husband, your love." He stated and she let out a chuckle. "I am not even going to ask
"What is this man doing here? I just lost my appetite!" Samantha exclaimed like a spoiled brat as soon as she saw Elijah sitting on the dining table. Sarah frowned at her while holding Elijah's hand under the table. But she didn't say anything. "What's there to lose appetite, Samantha? Because as far as I remember about your desert preferences a few months ago-..." Natasha couldn't complete her sentence as Samantha's glare shut her up so she just smirked at her in reply. "Don't you think you have started talking too much these days? Are you sure it's good for your health and peace?" Samantha asked Natasha in a mean tone. "Oh don't worry about my health and peace. I belong to the group of those people who ruin other people's health and peace. So, I know how to protect mine well." Natasha replied back sassily while smirking at Samantha while Samantha was fuming in anger.
