I held her throughout the night, as her body shook and she sobbed at not only the horrific sight she witnessed but, the slaughter of her apartment. I rocked her all night long until she fell asleep in my arms. I laid her on my bed, and she snuggled into my scent. I watched her sleep for a few hours swearing an oath to protect her. Suddenly, I started to feel a crawling sensation go through me, my gums started to tingle. With horror, I realized then, that the beast at bay has only been laying dormant purposefully. It was waiting to have her here, so it could strike. Chapter 44The next morning, I lay in bed in her arms again. I feel so blissfully happy however, the horrors of yesterday's events are fresh in my mind. I am ecstatic that she agreed to move in with me so suddenly but, this still spells danger! She is being hunted by that psychotic bitch, because of me! Chapter 45I continue to drive around Portland, feeling like I am going nowhere, or have nowhere to go. I am terrified to come home and find her gone. I know that she would need her space, she should be a thousand miles away from me. It would be for her safety however, I also wonder what she meant by ‘being watched all her life” did someone already know about her before I did? Was it because she discovered the truth? Either way, that means she has been in danger for years. That is a scary thought, I am thankful that no one has attempted to harm her. I drive back to the penthouse, heart feeling like ice, as I walk inside and find her gone.
