Tia flutter around in my head making me more nervous, "Talk to him" she says "say something, I cannot take this silence" I cleared my throat which seemed to catch Devllins attention. "How long is the drive?" Devllin shifts in his seat as if he was uncomfortable. "It is about an hour's drive to the airport," He said in a hushed tone as if he was trying to be gentle while talking to me. "Airport?" I questioned. He shook his head, "our pack is from Quillayute, that is in Washington" He said still talking in a hushed tone. My eyes widened realizing that I am moving across the states, I wouldn't be just a couple of hours away from the place I called home my whole life. I let out a breath I didn't realize I was holding as the weight of his words sank over my body.

The rest of the car ride was silent beside an occasional sniffle coming from my nose. Pulling up to a gate at the airport the guard let us through without question. Shifting in my seat as I look around we pull up to jet setting off the runway. Devllin puts the car in park and opens his door, as I reach for my handle he grabs my other arm making me snap back looking at him, Don't open your door I will get it for you. Shrugging his hand off my arm I open my door in spite as he gives me this squinted look of disapproval. Getting out I adjust my clothes looking behind me I catch him looking at me. Rolling my eyes I ask "are you done gawking over me?" Clearing his throat he smiles and says "well I was going to tell you that you have a sticker on the back of your leg" he snickered. Feeling my face turn red I look at the back of my leg and peel off the sticker. 

Grabbing my bags out the trunk I pull an overly large hoodie from my bag and put it on. Devllin took my bag from my hands and gave them to the man standing beside the plane. Walking up the steps of the plane Devllin reached for my hand to help me. I shrugged him off and scoff "I am capable of walking up the stairs" as the words left my lips I tripped slightly off the last step. Devllin chuckled "if you say so" he taunts. 

Walking on the plane I am taken back by all of the small details. The oak wood trim, the leather seats that are heated, down the stained wood flooring. I walk to the large sofa and flopped down on it. Devllin rolling his eyes at me sat in one of the leather seats. The pilot comes out to let us know that we would be ready to take off in about 20 minutes. Shifting myself to sit up a woman appears from the back offering me a drink and some breakfast. Moving to the leather seat beside Devllin so I can put a seat belt on, the pleasant woman brought us our food. Stacks of pancakes and bacon as well as some scrambled eggs. She offered us coffee, I shook my head no but I asked if she had chocolate milk. Devllin chuckled as if I was some little kid. Shooting him a dirty look "I don't like coffee" I said. "To each their own" he laughed. The nice woman brought me my chocolate milk and said "I'd pick chocolate milk too" chuckling I looked back at Devllin as he rolled his eyes.

As we finished our food the Pilot let us know it was time for take-off. I gripped my seat so tight I swear my knuckles turned white. I began taking in deeper breaths, Tia in my head helping me breathe. Devllin took notice of this, "are you okay?" he asked "Yes" I said in an almost snapping tone, "this is my first time flying okay". "Awww is short fry scared?" I shot him the evilest look I could "you don't get to call me that ever! Don't you ever say that name again!" I shouted just as the plane took flight. Looking at me and the pain I had in my eyes Devllin apologized. I sighed "Only my brother gets to call me that. okay?" He shook his head as if I hurt his feelings somehow. "Where is your father?" I ask. "He left last night after dinner" he replied "He is not in the greatest of health, that is why I am taking over the role of alpha before the other packs think we are weak, that is the reason for you" he goes to say something else but stops himself. "You have about 5 hours on the plane if you want to take a nap or something," he says changing the subject and looking out the window. Feeling as if I have been dismissed I unbuckle and head back to the sofa where the ever so sweet lady had already placed a pillow and a blanket for me. I hear Devllin let out a sigh but I just rolled over and closed my eyes.

Trying to sleep I hear Devllin get up as he is walking past me I feel him stop, he ever so gently pulls the blanket over my shoulder and I hear him whisper such beauty. Refusing to accept what I just heard Tia goes wild. "Did you hear that?" she shouts. "He thinks we are beautiful!" "hush," I tell her "We are being forced to do this, he isn't even our mate, we have no choice in this. He only wants us because he has no choice" I hear Tia whimper at the words I have just said as she fades back into the far edges of my mind. Even though I was being forced to do this I couldn't help but wonder if he had meant what he said. Beauty? me? no one back home ever showed an interest in me, and if they did it was only because I was the alpha daughter. No one truly wanted me for me, I was only a stepping stone in the eyes of everyone. Feeling myself getting emotional I cleared those thoughts from my mind. I finally felt myself drifting into sleep and I couldn't have been happier.
