10. Ballerina

I open my eyes to sunlight streaming into my room, and for a second, I am momentarily dazed as to what I was looking at; a heavily tattooed chest. Then the memory of what happened yesterday comes flooding back in waves.
I curl deeper into Kai’s arms, not wanting this to go away or, even worse, waking up in my bed back home to find out this has all been a dream. His arms pull me into a deeper embrace, and I feel something hard digging into my thigh. A blush blooms on my cheeks when I realise what it could be, so I just sink deeper into his arms.
“Hmm, Caterina,” he thrums in a deep voice laced thick with sleep. When I look up, his eyes are still closed, but he has a smile teasing his lips.

Caterina I smelled her before I even opened my eyes. The scent of jealousy never truly changes, and right now, the scent is overwhelming. Caterina It’s been three days, and Kai has been in and out of the penthouse without so much as a word uttered to me. I was beginning to feel as lonely here as I did back home with no one to talk to but my wolf, who was yearning for Kai. Caterina Viktor removes a set of keys from his jeans pocket and unlocks the massive oak doors. When we entered, I was seriously expecting a cloud of dust to assault my nose, but there was none. The place was impeccably kept as if it was waiting for its masters to return. The decor showed class and elegance, with every piece of art and furniture painstakingly chosen to compliment the other. I look around in awe; this mansion is magnificent. “Like what you see?” Viktor asks as he joins me in the living room. Caterina I lost Viktor after a couple of runs around the forest. He’s way faster than I am and is basically a blur when he runs; it didn’t help that I didn’t familiarise myself with his scent either. After a while, I gave up and wandered off on my own. I hear the sounds of a lake and make my way towards it, sniffing the air and listening for any sounds, but when I walk up to the lake, I freeze in my steps. There, having a drink in the lake, was a grey wolf. Its ears perk up when it hears me approach and spin around, growling when it sees me. I take a tentative step backwards but stop as there is something familiar about this wolf, so I inch forward towards it. It showed no signs of backing down, so I shifted back to show it that I meant no harm. The wolf’s ears perk up when it sees me, and then it sits back as it starts to shift as well.
