It’s been three days, and Kai has been in and out of the penthouse without so much as a word uttered to me.

I was beginning to feel as lonely here as I did back home with no one to talk to but my wolf, who was yearning for Kai.

I’m sitting downstairs on a couch seated in front of the floor-to-ceiling windows, reading a book and pecking at my fruit salad in front of me with my eyes momentarily flitting towards Viktor, who was my babysitter today. Kai had Nikolai training more since he’s the youngest.

Apparently, he wants him prepared for whatever is heading our way.

Sighing, I throw my book down and empty the fruit salad in the trash before I head upstairs. I’m slowly losing my mind here, and it felt like I was growing claustrophobic in this massive penthouse.
