Two

ZARA

     The weather today isn't one which I like at all. It is cold and foggy. I was awaiting Alpha Helen outside the parking lot like she had instructed yesterday.

She was taking quite the time, I was beginning to get annoyed, I was holding onto my tiny suitcase that only had three pieces of clothing in it.

Taking a second glance at the exit of the pack house, I saw the Alpha's daughter walking out in all glory. She looked beautifully dressed in a black gown. Her make-up was done lightly and her honey-brown hair basked in its glory.

"You are early, I like that." She said once she stood before me.

"Thank you, Alpha Helen, good morning," I said. I had been so concentrated on her beauty, I didn't even notice she was standing before me.

"Morning! Let's hop in, shall we?" She said and I nodded. "Sit with the guards," She ordered and I took calm strides over to a black SUV that was parked right in front of the Lamborghini the princess was going to make use of.

I sat in the backseat with a guard, he smiled at me calmly and then focused his attention on his cell phone. I was really tired, so I found myself sleeping throughout the ride to the palace. Yesterday, Willow and I chitchatted for a very long time, we slept at 2 am. That is why I feel so sleepy at the moment.

I felt something tap my shoulder lightly, I slowly opened my eyes to find the guard staring at me. "We are here." He announced to me. I was feeling sluggish because of how weak I was because I had just woken up. I could also hear my wolf yawn in my head, she has been silent for a week now, and it seems something is disturbing her. "Selena, are you okay?" I asked my wolf as I positioned myself properly on the sit of the car. I looked outside to see a tall castle starting back at me, the gates were wide open and I could see a lot of luxurious cars parked inside.

"Selena," I called onto my wolf again and this time, she whimpered.

'I feel strange Zara, I don't know what's wrong with me' Selena responded in a very calm voice. It's been quite a long time since we spoke, she has been quite distant for a while.

"You will be alright Selena," I assured her.  I felt her wrap herself into a ball, I could feel her nervousness as well, it also made me nervous.

"Omega, get down." I heard the guard say. He sounded polite when he referred to me as my title, it didn't hurt as much as it usually did when Alpha Helen says it.

I got down sluggishly from the car, Alpha Helen seemed to have been waiting for me. She had a scowl on her face, "I'm sorry, Alpha Helen." I apologized, though it wasn't necessary to, I mean I only wasted like two minutes of her time.

She rolled her eyes, "Let's go!" She turned around swiftly and I followed behind her. She walked elegantly, I felt ashamed of my figure behind her. I looked like a church rat, I was wearing a cream plain gown, I am sure I still smelt like the spices I used in the morning to prepare Alpha Helen's breakfast. I feel so ashamed of myself.

As soon as we arrived at the entrance of the huge castle, a butler bowed in front of Alpha Helen. "Alpha Helen of Golden Moon pack," The butler read from a piece of paper. "Welcome to the royal ball." The butler said respectfully. Alpha Helen nodded her head curtly, she never fails to degrade omegas, the butler was an omega. I smiled pitifully at him as we walked in.

We entered the grand ball and a calm sound of music befell our ears as the sight of beautifully dressed women stood elegantly on the dance floor. They conversed amongst themselves but as soon as Alpha Helen walked in, all the women stared at her with clear irritation. No one liked her, she is extremely pompous and well known as the spoilt daughter of the Alpha of the Golden pack.

She turned to face me, "Go over there," She pointed to an area where maids were seated. I could tell they were maids because they were all omega like me.

"Here's my phone, if I get a call, bring it to me." She ordered sternly. I nodded my head calmly and scurried over to where the maids sat.

I found a seat next to a blonde girl and sat, she was smiling happily and staring at the Alphas as they talked amongst themselves. "Hello," She said to me.

"Hi," I said very shyly. I was feeling nervous because of how my wolf felt, she was quiet and I felt her very distant.

"Which Alpha are you here with?" She asked. "I'm Monica by the way," The girl said enthusiastically.

"I am here with Alpha Helen of Golden Moon pack," I said to her softly. The other girls were busy conversing with each other as well.

"I do not know her, what's your name?" Monica asked.

"My name is Zara," I said.

"Zara, it's a very beautiful name." She complimented and I smiled.

The voice of a girl startled us and we turned around to see her pointing at a man, "Oh my God, it's the lycan king, King Ezra!" The girl had yelled. Every girl in the room fixated their gaze on him. I couldn't see him from where I sat, because, all the Alphas in the room had immediately gathered around him.

"I can't see him!" Monica whined. Seeing him was the least of my problem, I couldn't wait for this ball to be over so that I can return back to Willow. I miss her so much.

The calm ringing of a phone startled me, I looked down to my lap to see Alpha Helen's phone buzzing, it was her father that was calling.

"Is that your phone?" Monica asked. I nodded in denial at her question.

"It's Alpha Helen's," I said, I got up to my feet, with the phone still buzzing, the Alpha was calling once again.

"Where are you going?" Monica asked.

"I want to get the phone to her," I responded, "I'll be right back," I said and immediately scurried away before she had the chance to speak, honestly, she was beginning to annoy me with her continuous blabbering.

I headed into the ballroom, in the hope that I might find her. I looked around calmly and spotted her talking to one of the Alpha. I immediately took fast strides towards her, but, suddenly a scent caught my nose. I felt my wolf become hyper as the scent became stronger.

"What's that scent, Selena?" I asked my wolf. She seemed to be concentrated on finding where the scent was coming from.

Abruptly, a hand held onto mine tightly but not painfully, the next thing I heard my wolf utter was the word "Mate"

Turning around, the face of a handsome man befell me, "Mate!" He growled possessively as he pressed my body onto his hard chest. From the surge of power I felt around him, I was certain it was the Lycan king.

"You are an Omega," He stated very calmly.  I immediately laid my head low as his eyes stared at me dangerously.

"You are mine!" He uttered next and the whole crowd of girls gasped. From the corner of my eyes, I could see Alpha Helena walking over to us angrily.

As soon as she got before me, she yanked me out of my mate's grip and slapped me hard across the face. "You useless omega, what spell did you use to get him?" She yelled at the top of her voice. Her Alpha tone was out, which meant she was angry.

In a swift motion, my mate returned the slap to her. She fell to the ground, and everyone gasped once again. I looked into his eyes to see that his wolf was out, and he was not pleased with the scene before him.

Alpha Helen on the other hand looked on the verge of dying, I was sure if it were an omega who was slapped this hard, they would die instantly.

The loud voice of the Lycan king boomed through the room, "I have found my mate,  your Queen!" He announced and everyone in the room clamped their palms together. It was as if the Lycan king didn't just knock down Alpha Helen, whose guards had come to help her up.

I felt like I was dreaming, but when they began to hail me. I realized I was in reality.

I'm now the Queen of the Lycans.
