Mateo's pov

I barely caught a glimpse of my car; it's getting darker than before. I quickly got in and turned on the engine to head home, although not to the house I was coming from but to another; it would be more dangerous for me to stay at that house.

I drove at a very high speed, not minding the street lights and the other road signals.

I grip the steering wheel tightly as I press down on the accelerator. The engine roars as the car speeds down the deserted highway. The headlights cut through the darkness, illuminating the road ahead. The wind whips through my hair as I swerve in and out of the lanes, pushing the car to its limits.

My heart races with adrenaline as I glance at the speedometer. I'm going well over the speed limit, but I don't care. The thrill of the drive is too much to resist. I can feel the weight of the car shift as I take a sharp turn, my tires screeching in protest.

I glance in the rearview mirror, but there's no sign of any police cars. I let out a laugh as
