Blood moon pack

Audrey was in her room when her father sent for her. She was dressed soon and found herself rushing into the courts where her father attended to matters concerning the pack. This time, he had with him his Beta and his Luna and there was in the congregation, the leader of the army. She stopped by the door and observed them but her father's eyes caught hers and she saw in those eyes, an encouragement to come in.

She walked in.

"Come and sit down, dear. Your father thinks it will be a good idea to tell you something very important_"

Her mother said as she walked in. Her hesitancy thrown away as she walked to the seat her mother was pointing at briskly.

She sat.

"Dad, I am here."

She said.

She sat smugly and crossed her legs. Her father looked at her admiringly before speaking.

"Well, dear. I know this might not sound like the best idea to you but I want to inform you that we have decided to join forces with the blood moon pack so we can fight the Rogues and send them away forever. You see they keep coming in their numbers and we have not increased more than we had been when they had first started to make trouble With us and it is only prudent that we do this_"

He said. Audrey shook her head. Of course the Alpha knew she would not agree to the idea, hence he had tried as much as he could to make her see reasons why it was important they do what they had to do but there, she was still not in agreement. She was strong-willed and mostly adamant. The Alpha sighed. Not that he could not do what he had decided to do without telling her, but as his immediate heir and patriotic daughter of his that she was, he decided to tell her and hear what her opinion would be. He was not surprised when she continued shaking her head and then looked up and said,

" Father, you know this is not the best ideas. There are other ways we can drive the rogues away without having to put ourselves in a position where we would be indebted to a certain pack because they aided us in fighting our enemies_"

She said. The Alpha nodded and started to explain but she cut him off with her desperate pleas

"Father, I think it makes more sense that we fight harder, train more and get more equipped to get rid of these attackers. It is best we do it that way and not have to involve another pack."

She said. Her mother lifted one hand to rest on her thigh but she was already on her feet, her hands clasped together before her, a show that she was pleading rather than asking or demanding.

"But you have hardly let me explain further to you, Audrey. This battle needs more men to fight it and not for us to overwork the men that we already have. Okay? It is a good idea that we do this _"

"But father, what if they demand of us a greater favour in the future as a show of gratitude for aiding us this time? What if we now find ourselves in a position of indebtedness, father? It is from this angle that I speak from because I have heard that it does happen Everytime. "

She said as she retreated to sit on her seat. Her mother was looking at her, desperately asking her to sit with the look on her face and she did.

"You did not ask the pack that we have chosen to ask for this assistance, Audrey"

Her father said. She realized then that she had indeed not asked him. She cleared her throat and asked

"Father, do tell me the pack which you have chosen to ask for help then",

She said. Her father smiled.

" It is the Blood Moon pack, Audrey",

He said, still smiling. Audrey felt something snap in her at the mention of the blood moon pack. She had never had the opportunity to visit the pack for any reason and she did not recall ever having them come over to Burning Mountain pack for any political reasons and so she wondered why she felt something snap in her. Still, it felt like a completely bad idea to have them come to their pack.

" Father, I do not think__"

" Don't worry, they are the ones who owe us the favour that they are about to pay us. long ago, our pack aided them in their fights too and this is the first time we are asking for a repay of that Favour_"

Her father explained. He had cut her short and she was unsettled inside as she wondered still, why she had suddenly felt uneasy by the whole thing.

" Well, I still do not support the idea but I guess you must do what you must, my opinion regardless",

She said as she bowed and left the courts.. she stepped onto the hallway and began to match towards her room when she heard the thumping but steady steps behind her. She was behind Audrey. Perhaps, her father had asked that she come and speak some sense into her as he often did when she disagreed with him on very delicate issues as the one they had just finished talking about. She stopped.

"Mother, do you need my attention over anything?"

She asked without turning around to face her mother who was still walking towards her steadily, yet to utter  a word to her. Audrey slowed down her pace so that her mother could easily reach her but she was already very close to her room and she was tempted to hold the knob and disappear behind the door. She rolled her eyes as it seemed her mother was taking ages to reach her. She stopped altogether and stopped taking even the littlest steps.

"I do want to talk to you, my dear",

Her mother said as she eventually reached her.

"You should go into your room while I follow behind. It will be better if we talk in your room my dear",

She said. Audrey nodded as she took the next few steps, opened the door and went inside. She did not hold it open for her mother, she pushed the door wide and sauntered to her bed without any expression on her face.

"Don't carry such a face. I want to tell you that what your father has decided to do is the best decision and i personally support it",

She said as she let the door shut and came to sit with her on the bed. Audrey sighed. She did not think she was ready to have the same conversation all over again but then she had to listen to whatever her mother had to say.

"I am trying to see if I can get myself to agree that it is a good idea to have another pack come aid us in chasing away those miscreants, mother",

She said as she stood up and tried to twist her hand to undo the laces behind her dress. She found it hard to. Her mother stood up and helped her. She sighed in relief.

" My dear daughter. I know you are smart and brave and everything that a Young woman should be and more, I think you should set away sentiments and see that we need to join forces with this pack and chase away the rogues. We do not want a situation where we will defeat them and they come back later in a larger number and hurt us. You have seen how they grow in their numbers each time they return and it is only wise that we send them away once and for all",

Audrey's mother said. She always had a way of making her soften and often change her mind. That was perhaps the reason why her father, like every other time had asked that her mother come and speak to her. She was no longer vexed by the time she  was out of her dress and her mother was ready to leave the room. She was always happy that her parents thought it wise everytime to ask her what she thought of certain plans before they executed it and she knew it was because she showed interest in the affairs of her pack and everything that either worried or caused them to celebrate. She was still in her thoughts when the maid that had been assigned to her pushed the door open.

"Good evening, my lady. The luna has asked that I attend you this evening and she would like you to come down earlier for dinner because there is so much she says she has to tell you before dinner_"

The maid said as she stepped into the room in one breath. Audrey sighed and nodded at the maid.
