LOGINNIKOLAI RIDER
My eyes darken and I clench my fist, trying to control the anger bubbling in me. "Mention her name one last time—" "Forgive me!" He rasps out, bowing slightly. I huff and turn around, heading out of the haven. "Who is Miss Peterson, my mystery man," the lady asks, her small hand on my chest. "Someone who doesn't matter, " I reply in a hoarse voice, narrowing my eyes. "Your voice tells me the opposite, " she responds, and I scoff. "What do you know about voices, doll?" I ask and stop to unlock the car. She stifles a laugh and flips her hair, showing off the beautiful tattoo on her wrist. I smile and throw the door open, stepping over to the other side. The tattoo flashes before my eyes, stopping me from igniting the car. Where have I seen that tattoo before? I am sure that I have seen it somewhere, but I can't seem to remember where. "Get in, mystery man," the whore says, but this time, her voice isn't soft; it is hoarse and commanding. I look up and my eyes dim when my mind registers the gun pointed at me. "I knew no whore would be as smart as you are, and I'm right," I mutter and slip out of the car, heading towards her. "Stay right there!" She snaps, waving the gun at my face. "Who sent you?" I ask. She let down the gun and glared at me murderously. "Figure that out when you get to hell! " She spits out and pulls the trigger. I stand at the spot with my head tilted to the side as I watch the bullet wheeze toward me. I guess my nonchalant behavior has left her surprised and is making her pull her guard. This is the opportunity to strike. Just when the bullet is about to sink into my forehead. I throw my body down and duck it expertly, swinging my feet and body in the direction of where she is standing. Before she can attempt to run off, I grab her dark silky hair and pull her back, slamming her body against mine. She screams and tries to pull the trigger again, but I slam my clenched fist on her frail fingers that are wrapped around the trigger. She yells, and her grip on the gun slackens. I didn't show her mercy, why should I? She is just an assassin, not a woman. I hit her hand again and the gun finally falls out of her hand. "Who sent you!" I growl, tightening my grip on her neck. She shrieks, gasping for air as she struggles to get out of my grip. "You fucking bitch, tell me the devil!" I spit out. The little patience I have left is slowly getting exhausted and the only thing popping out in my mind is to waste her damn life. Pain shoots through my body, snapping me back to reality. I growl and fling her off, wiping off the blood that is dripping out from the fresh wound on my neck. The little bitch just dug her nasty nails into my neck, ripping out my flesh. Damn! I should have handled her the way I handle men. She wouldn't have gotten the opportunity to dig her filthy fingers into my neck. From the corner of my eyes, I watch her stagger up to her feet, her bruised hand holding the mask in place to stop it from falling off. I chuckle at the effort, knowing pretty well that she won't be leaving here alive or with that mask on. "Go to hell!" She curses and turns around to run off, but I can't let her. I pick up the gun lying at my feet and empties two bullets into her back. A satisfied smirk creeps into my face as her body goes down to the ground, slowly getting pale. I flip out my phone, muttering curses as I dial Tom's number. This time, he doesn't waste time picking up. "Need help with that chick, boss? Guess she's riding your dick well," he laughs and begins to speak to someone in the background. "Fucking listen to me, idiot!" I snap and he stops whatever stupid discussion he is having with the whore. "I'm right here, boss!" "Get yourself to the garage right now!" "Wait a minute, you're still here?" He stupidly questions and I groan in anger. "Okay, okay. I will be there," he rasps out and the line goes dead. I take a step towards the body which has already created a pool of blood, and stare down at the pale hands, most especially on the tattoo. Only one gang has that symbol on their wrist… Tom rushes in and gasps out, muttering a low curse. "I knew she wasn't up to no good," he mutters and walks towards her body then pulls off the mask over a face. "This is surely Giovanni's girl," he rasps out and I nod my head in agreement. "That bloody bastard is looking for war, and I'm gonna give it to him," I snap and begin to walk to my car, dabbing off the blood on my neck. "The police are patrolling some joints tonight. I will figure out a way to pull the dumb boy out, " he shouts after me. I only nod my head in response and pull out a stick of cigarette from the pack then lean on the car to replenish my strength. "Oh my, such a beauty wasted," he murmurs, running his hand over her pale face. "Who cares about her beauty, in the end of the day, she is a criminal, " I respond, exhaling thick dark smoke. "And skillful one at that," he laughs and I glance at him, turning up my lips in disgust. He looks up and grins at me. "Imagine she pulled that trigger without giving you a clue of who she truly was…" he pauses and bursts into laughter, afraid to complete his words. "Well… she is just as dumb as she is pretty. Now, shut the fuck up and dispose of that body properly," I snap, and he nods, putting on black gloves. "Do you a clean job, Tom!" "Yes, boss!" I slam the doors shut and ignite the car, gripping the wheels in anger. I should have stuck to those real, disposable whores. And Giovanni? He better get ready to welcome my disaster.KAITLYN“Nikolai,” I whisper. His darkened eyes flicker towards me, and his head tilts to the side. “How dare you cheat on me, Kaitlyn?” he whispers in a voice full of mockery.I stagger back and turn to look at Jesse.“With this fool," he mutters, and my head jerks up.I feel anger flood through my body, and my fists clench, but I am unable to say anything. He fucking caught me kissing his brother. I have no excuse for that. “Put your anger on me, leave Kaitlyn out of this,” Jesse snaps and steps in front of me. “Jesse let it go,” I whisper in fear. “No!” Jesse snaps and faces him again. “If you have a problem, deal with me then.”Nikolai grins and shuffles closer, his head swinging from one side to another. “I never said I was going to deal with her anyway. If there's anyone who is wishing for death here, it's definitely you, Jesse,” Nicolai mutters. He pauses and huffs with raised brows. “How much more desperate will you be?” Nikolai adds."I should be the one asking you t
KAITLYN My body stirs when he presses his lips against mine. My heartbeats increase, and without thinking twice, I fling my hands around his neck and part his lips with my tongue, kissing him softly. He pushes me back gently, and my back slams on the door behind me. My hands move around his chest, caressing his skin with my fingertips. I miss this so much…the taste of his lips, the feeling I always get when he has his lips against mine, the raspy breathing between us, and the soft, gentle grip he always has on me, something Nikolai could never do.After what seems like a blissful eternity, Jesse breaks the kiss and stares at me, his eyes narrowing over my body with so much passion in them. “He didn't hurt you, did he?” He asks, while catching his breath. I sigh loudly and shake my head.“I thought he was going to hurt you. It's so good to see you alive,” I mutter. The smile on Jesse's face falls. He sighs again and turns around, his eyes traveling to the bed. I follow his gaze a
KAITLYN“Ah!” I groan loudly and throw my head to the side, wincing as pain snaps across my head.I remember rushing into a cab when it started to drizzle. I had pressurized the driver to ride faster, not minding the rain, but close to the location, a car crashed into the cab from behind. I don't know what happened after that because darkness consumed me. My chest suddenly tightens as the news that was coming from the car’s stereo echoes in my head, and my eyes fly open. “Jesse!" I gasp and sit up. I quickly roll out of the bed and rush out of the room, my chest heaving and falling. Tears sting my eyes as I dash across the corridor. If anything happens to Jesse, I will kill myself, I swear to God. My feet freeze when I look up from the spiral staircase and find Nikolai sitting with a cup of coffee in hand and eyes glued to a newspaper. My throat knots when I dart my eyes to the newspaper in his hand. Could it be…“You're awake!" My gaze snaps to his face, and anger clenches my
NIKOLAIAnger is bubbling in me as I watch her run out of the hall. I clench the glass of champagne so tightly that the glass breaks under my grip and the splinters fall to the ground. The heads of everyone shift from the door to me, eyes widening in horror.“Don Nikolai!" Elios’s wife gasps and begins to approach me, but Elios pulls her back. He knows well enough to get her out of my way if he doesn't want her burnt down by my anger.I am fucking seeing red and will kill anyone who dares to step into my way with some fake mask of sympathy.I clench my fist and begin to march out of the hall, crushing the rest of the glass with my feet. From the corner of my eye, I watch Estella grin in satisfaction. If I find out that bitch had a hand in this, I'll fucking kill her.Everyone steps out of the way and draws back, daring not to say a word or show any emotion.I grip the door handles and push the door open, then step into the cold night.Shit! It's raining!I groan loudly and raise my ha
KAITLYNF*ck!!A gasp fills the room as Estella stares at us with eyes wide and full of horror.“What the hell!" She blurts out, gasping again.I curse silently and lower my head, my face flushed in embarrassment.“We are married, right?” Nikolai snaps, and my head shoots up.My eyes catch her fist clenching, and the embarrassment bubbling inside of me disappears.“Of course, you're married now. But doing this shitty thing has made me understand that you still can't get over me,” she snaps. My eyes dim, and I swerve my head in Nikolai's direction, anger setting in. The smile on Nikolai's face widens, and he steps closer to her. “No, Estella, I'm just making out with my wife. Don't get your hopes high, I'm never coming back to your chopped ass,” Nikolai replies. Pain darts across her eyes as her jaw drops.“Chopped ass?" She huffs loudly, then tilts her neck to look at me.I should be angry now, but why do I feel so happy that he puts her in her place? Hearing him call her proud as
KAITLYNMy words hit her so hard that her glass drops and spills the champagne on my dress.I gasp loudly and step back, the smile on my face disappearing.I wipe a hand over my dress and jerk my head up towards her while she stares at me with horror and fear scribbling across her face.Is this the price I have to pay for putting her in her place?I part my lips to yell at her, but she rushes forward and grips my hand, pleading with her eyes that I remain silent. My head tilts, and my lips twitch into a smirk at her request. She must think I want to scream her secret out to the guests.“I'm… I'm sorry,” she blurts out as she dramatically wipes her hand over the spot."Stop—”"I will take you to the washroom,” she says and grips my hand tighter, persuading me with that false smile. I huff and narrow my eyes before slapping her hand away. “Fine," I mutter. Relief darts over her eyes, and she straightens up, then waves her hand forward.“Come," she mutters in her usual cold voice, the
