LOGINNIKOLAI RIDER
My eyes darken and I clench my fist, trying to control the anger bubbling in me. "Mention her name one last time—" "Forgive me!" He rasps out, bowing slightly. I huff and turn around, heading out of the haven. "Who is Miss Peterson, my mystery man," the lady asks, her small hand on my chest. "Someone who doesn't matter, " I reply in a hoarse voice, narrowing my eyes. "Your voice tells me the opposite, " she responds, and I scoff. "What do you know about voices, doll?" I ask and stop to unlock the car. She stifles a laugh and flips her hair, showing off the beautiful tattoo on her wrist. I smile and throw the door open, stepping over to the other side. The tattoo flashes before my eyes, stopping me from igniting the car. Where have I seen that tattoo before? I am sure that I have seen it somewhere, but I can't seem to remember where. "Get in, mystery man," the whore says, but this time, her voice isn't soft; it is hoarse and commanding. I look up and my eyes dim when my mind registers the gun pointed at me. "I knew no whore would be as smart as you are, and I'm right," I mutter and slip out of the car, heading towards her. "Stay right there!" She snaps, waving the gun at my face. "Who sent you?" I ask. She let down the gun and glared at me murderously. "Figure that out when you get to hell! " She spits out and pulls the trigger. I stand at the spot with my head tilted to the side as I watch the bullet wheeze toward me. I guess my nonchalant behavior has left her surprised and is making her pull her guard. This is the opportunity to strike. Just when the bullet is about to sink into my forehead. I throw my body down and duck it expertly, swinging my feet and body in the direction of where she is standing. Before she can attempt to run off, I grab her dark silky hair and pull her back, slamming her body against mine. She screams and tries to pull the trigger again, but I slam my clenched fist on her frail fingers that are wrapped around the trigger. She yells, and her grip on the gun slackens. I didn't show her mercy, why should I? She is just an assassin, not a woman. I hit her hand again and the gun finally falls out of her hand. "Who sent you!" I growl, tightening my grip on her neck. She shrieks, gasping for air as she struggles to get out of my grip. "You fucking bitch, tell me the devil!" I spit out. The little patience I have left is slowly getting exhausted and the only thing popping out in my mind is to waste her damn life. Pain shoots through my body, snapping me back to reality. I growl and fling her off, wiping off the blood that is dripping out from the fresh wound on my neck. The little bitch just dug her nasty nails into my neck, ripping out my flesh. Damn! I should have handled her the way I handle men. She wouldn't have gotten the opportunity to dig her filthy fingers into my neck. From the corner of my eyes, I watch her stagger up to her feet, her bruised hand holding the mask in place to stop it from falling off. I chuckle at the effort, knowing pretty well that she won't be leaving here alive or with that mask on. "Go to hell!" She curses and turns around to run off, but I can't let her. I pick up the gun lying at my feet and empties two bullets into her back. A satisfied smirk creeps into my face as her body goes down to the ground, slowly getting pale. I flip out my phone, muttering curses as I dial Tom's number. This time, he doesn't waste time picking up. "Need help with that chick, boss? Guess she's riding your dick well," he laughs and begins to speak to someone in the background. "Fucking listen to me, idiot!" I snap and he stops whatever stupid discussion he is having with the whore. "I'm right here, boss!" "Get yourself to the garage right now!" "Wait a minute, you're still here?" He stupidly questions and I groan in anger. "Okay, okay. I will be there," he rasps out and the line goes dead. I take a step towards the body which has already created a pool of blood, and stare down at the pale hands, most especially on the tattoo. Only one gang has that symbol on their wrist… Tom rushes in and gasps out, muttering a low curse. "I knew she wasn't up to no good," he mutters and walks towards her body then pulls off the mask over a face. "This is surely Giovanni's girl," he rasps out and I nod my head in agreement. "That bloody bastard is looking for war, and I'm gonna give it to him," I snap and begin to walk to my car, dabbing off the blood on my neck. "The police are patrolling some joints tonight. I will figure out a way to pull the dumb boy out, " he shouts after me. I only nod my head in response and pull out a stick of cigarette from the pack then lean on the car to replenish my strength. "Oh my, such a beauty wasted," he murmurs, running his hand over her pale face. "Who cares about her beauty, in the end of the day, she is a criminal, " I respond, exhaling thick dark smoke. "And skillful one at that," he laughs and I glance at him, turning up my lips in disgust. He looks up and grins at me. "Imagine she pulled that trigger without giving you a clue of who she truly was…" he pauses and bursts into laughter, afraid to complete his words. "Well… she is just as dumb as she is pretty. Now, shut the fuck up and dispose of that body properly," I snap, and he nods, putting on black gloves. "Do you a clean job, Tom!" "Yes, boss!" I slam the doors shut and ignite the car, gripping the wheels in anger. I should have stuck to those real, disposable whores. And Giovanni? He better get ready to welcome my disaster.KAITLYNI watch the new maid assigned to me as she packs up a bag for me. The first time I saw her, I was quite shocked to find someone who strikingly resembled me. I believe that was why Nikolai chose her. I still don't know her name, but she already knows everything about me. She doesn't behave like the cold, loyal dogs of Nikolai. She behaves quite differently.“What's your name?" I ask the tall, beautiful, black-haired lady. She straightens up and turns to face me with a pretty smile on her face."Diana, ma'am,” she bows.I sigh and lean back into the chair I am sitting in, watching her suspiciously. It is funny that this innocent-looking girl will turn out to be a vicious spy sent by Nikolai to watch every step I take around Ana’s house.I managed to convince the bastard that I won't need his bodyguard to come with me. I know he is setting a trap that he knows I'll fall into, but I don't care.I will see Giovanni tonight, no matter what it takes."Ma'am?” I look up at the maid, r
KAITLYNNikolai made everyone in the restaurant leave the moment we entered. Now we're the only ones in here. The place feels so suffocating that I can hardly breathe or eat the tasteless macaroni in front of me.My hands are clammy, and my belly won't stop churning whenever I hear his satisfied groan. I wish I could stab his neck with the fork in my hand and stop a single sound from escaping his lips.“You aren't eating, mi amor,” he mutters, and my heart drops.I tear my glare away from his face and slowly return to reality."I am,” I mumble and scoop some macaroni. He leans closer, narrowing his eyes over me in suspicion."You look sick,” he mutters. My chest tightens in rage, and I grip the fork tightly. He is acting like he isn't the reason why I'm looking this dead and pale.“I am fine," I mutter, not looking up.I can still feel his eyes on me, piercing through me to find out what the problem is.“You don't like the place?" he inquires and clicks his tongue. How does the devil
KAITLYN I slowly turn around, my eyes wide in horror and my belly clenching in pain and rage.“What?" I gasp. That sly smirk is tugged at the corner of his lips as always. He begins to descend the stairs, his hands stuck in his pants pockets.“You said you'd clear the debts if I married you!" I growl in anger. He straightens the cuffs of his shirt even though it doesn't need the effort. He looks up at me, shoulders shrugging.“I said I will clear the debts if you stay with me for a year, didn't you read the contracts well?" I scoff loudly, my chest tightening. He gets to where I am standing and grips my chin, earning a horrified gasp from me. My belly is in chaos and I am struggling to breathe with the way he is staring down at me with those devilish eyes."You will not just have those loan sharks after you, but your father's name will be ruined, and if there is anything left of the old man's wealth, it will be given to your stepmother and her daughter…” he pauses and lets the words
KAITLYN I jerk up from a bed again but this time, it isn't the uncomfortable hospital bed. It is softer and larger.I slowly look around the room I am in and my heart clenches when I realize where I am.I am back in that haunted house of a devil. Trapped and caged just like in my dreams.I grip the white sheets surrounding me, my teeth sinking into the bottom of my lips. The guilt and anger are back, and this time, I won't hesitate to take his life. I slowly get down from the bed, wincing as pain shoots through my body.I am still trembling from pain and the dream has also added to it.I don't want to believe Philippe is gone. That can't be possible.I take in a deep breath and grab the doorknob then slowly pull the door open.I poke my head out and stare at the empty hallway. The house is just as silent as it used to be but I know everyone is in the house.I need to get out of here first. I can't spend another minute under the roof, knowing that bastard killed my friend.Philippe wa
KAITLYN “Hey, Kaitlyn, wake up," I hear a voice whisper into my ear as I lie still and almost dead. Why did the voice sound so familiar? Why does it remind me of him?"Kaitlyn?” My eyes slowly open, not because I am strong enough but because I want to be sure it is who I think it is.And just like I hoped, it turns out to be true. It is Philippe standing over me with a warm smile on his face.“Philippe!" I gasp loudly as I stare wide-eyed at him. Am I dreaming?!I hope I am not. I hope this is true. I hope I am not dreaming."Wake up, princess, you've slept enough,” he says. I gasp again and grab the sheets, sitting up on the bed.He doesn't move from where he is standing as he stares at me and his smile… his smile looks fake and practiced. No, this is not true. Philippe is real, and that's it. I shake my head, shaking off the negative thoughts planting doubts in my head.“How are you feeling?" He asks, narrowing his eyes over my pale body with concern scribbled across his face."
KAITLYN “Philippe!” My eyes fly open, and light pierces into them. I throw my head to the side and groan loudly as pain shoots through my body.“You're awake," someone whispers beside me, and my body stiffens.I slowly turn my head to the side, my heart sinking in my belly when my eyes fall on Nikolai's face.“Philippe, where is Philippe?" I ask, my voice trembling. His lips slant, and his eyes glitter in what seems to be happiness. But the happiness isn't there because I am alive and awake but because of the question I asked.“Dead. If you care so much, you can join him," he mutters, and my heart stops beating for a minute. My jaw drops, and my heart races as shock sparks through me.The beeping from the monitor increases and goes faster. He purses his lips and flicks his eyes towards the monitor, looking unbothered."This is not how people die," he mutters.I hold my breath and burst out into a whimper when I can't hold in the pain anymore. The scene of the car that ran into his a
NIKOLAIMy lips stretch into a smirk as I watch her shiver under the blankets. My hand drops from her shoulder, and I lean forward to her ears, the smirk never leaving my face.“Hope you have a bad night, mi amor,” I whisper, and she stiffens. She slowly cranes her neck back, and her eyes widen.“Y
NIKOLAII nod at the man and grip her wrist tighter, dragging her reluctant feet across the vibrating ground of the dimly lit corridor.“If you had told me that this was where you were bringing me, I wouldn't have followed you,” she snaps, tearing into my flesh.I stop walking and let her hand go.
KAITLYNI jerk up from the bed, breathing heavily.I groan loudly and grip my banging head. It feels like someone is knocking several nails into my head, and I can't stop the raging fire burning up my body from inside. My eyes are heavy and filled with pain, and my throat feels so sore.My head is
NIKOLAII jerk up from my seat and scan the bustling hall, my hands shaking in rage. The worst that can happen to one here is losing someone. It's so difficult to find someone in the huge crowd in the hall.“Did you bring her here, boss?" Tom asks, dismay smeared in his voice."Fuck!” I growl, and
