Another

The dark gray clouds started thickening, Prurien noticed, and the rain came in puddles, punching at the vehicle.

“Fine, let us hurry up.”

The smell of ozone thickened in the air, making Johnathan sneeze while the two men again called on the ancient power of their wolf lineage.

It only took a moment, and they were now ready.

“Damnit, why didn’t you open the back hatch before you changed? Useless piece of,” Jonathan’s voice was interrupted by a heavy gust of wind, but he managed to yell above it as it pummeled him, “Next time, Lasci can deal with this bs!”

“There shouldn’t be a next time, number one. Number two, how would you expect us to close the hatch?”

“See this little cloth strap hanging inside at the bottom? What’s the point of you mutts having teeth if you don’t know how to use them? I’ve seen dogs in dog shows smarter than all of you!”

Jonathan slammed the hatch shut and got back into the driver’s seat.

“I don’t know what bothers me more, him calling us mutts or him watching dog shows.”

Amorous was almost passed out in the front seat but chuckled at Tener’s comment.

“Don’t make me laugh. It hurts.”

Tener laid down, “Sorry, bother, we’ll be home soon, and the fussy devil can take a look at you.”

Jonathan mumbled something that made Amorous laugh harder

“Okay, everyone needs to settle in. Let him drive in silence so he can focus. Amorous, if it gets too bad, we will stop and help you change to heal your wounds, but for now, you will have to deal with it.”

The brothers knew if they were injured beyond a couple of scratches, the change was challenging and could have consequences, so it was best to get treated in human form first.

Silence filled the vehicle while Jonathan got back on the road and headed home. Prurien sat watching out the window. Though he was currently a wolf, his eyes remained the same as a human’s, just like his speech, so the color and shapes of the world stayed the same.

He turned and laid his head on the back seat, looking down at the human. It was warm in the vehicle, but coldness seemed to surround the body. It didn’t smell dead, and he could hear a different heartbeat than his brothers. A human’s heartbeat always amazed him. Instead of the steady fast beat he usually would listen to, a human’s heartbeat was slower, almost comforting.

It didn’t take long, and they were finally back at the estate. The wind and rain cooled its tantrum.

Amorous noticed one of the doors open on the garage as they drove up and whined, “Lasci’s home. I’m so screwed.” The oldest brother’s car sat as a pile of metal on the side of the road at the accident.

“You’ll have to pay him back, that’s all. Prepare to work like a mule, little brother.”

Tener’s comment came out softly as he woke from his quick nap in the back. Meanwhile, Jonathan snickered, “Don’t think you’re in the clear, Tener, you smell the worst, like a wet dog, so you’ll be cleaning out MY vehicle. I expect not a single hair left in this thing. You can polish the rims while you’re at it.”

Jonathan’s comment made Tener growl, but he conceded. He did need a bath.

Once parked, Jonathan got out and went around the back to open the hatch. It was still drizzling but much quieter.

Tener and Prurien jumped out, but before they got even halfway out of the vehicle, they saw Lasci rushing out of the house.

“Where is he!?”

“Calm down. He’s in the front seat, passed out. The injuries aren’t that bad. Their lives aren’t at stake, and Amorous may be bruised and scratched up, but he will be fine once he can change.”

Prurien responded after calling back the change and standing up in his human form, naked.

Lascivious turned towards his brother, “Go put some clothes on. Wait, what do you mean by ‘their’? I thought it was just Amorous?” He looked from Prurien to where the vehicle was and rushed to it.

Tener had only texted Lascivious about Amorous’s condition but never mentioned another injured body.

The Alpha yanked open the door to see Amorous looking at him, scared.

“I’m sorry, it was so windy, the rain, I slid.”

“It’s fine little brother, you’re alive, and that’s all that matters today. Let’s get you inside and have your injuries looked at. Pru, grab him and get him inside.”

Lascivious noticed something in the back seat, so he opened the back passenger door but suddenly couldn’t move. Laying in the back seat partially covered, a soaking wet young woman lay covered in a small amount of blood.

“What the hell, why is a human in the back seat? Please tell me she didn’t see you change! What the fuck were you all thinking? We can’t have a human anywhere close to the house!”

“Calm down, Lasci, the human is injured. Amorous hit her car, and they both ended up as tree decorations. We couldn’t just leave her to die!”

Lascivious turned, anger mounting, towards Prurien, who was helping his youngest brother out of the passenger seat like he was told.

“I don’t care if you drive her to the hospital yourself. Get her out of here!”

Suddenly a soft cough came from the back seat. Lascivious turned in time to see the young female try to sit up while a bit of blood came from the corners of her mouth.

“Fuck, fine, get her inside. Demon, you better keep her in dreamland until we can get her well enough to transport her to a human hospital!”

Jonathan just nodded as he came around the vehicle.

“Tener, you and Jonathan take her to my room until we can get another room ready. You guys are friggen killing me. I must leave shortly to pick up Libidi now that the weather has calmed down.”

Lascivious looked at the young woman once more, shaking his head. He thought this was the last thing he needed, mainly because she was still beautiful even in her drab state.

She coughed again, and he moved aside so Tener and Jonathan could get her out of the back seat.

“Be careful, don’t make her condition worse.”

“No shit, damn, she is light.”
