5 Brothers & The House of Stray update notice
Unfortunately, I got very sick in early 2023, and in October of 2023, I was diagnosed with multiple myeloma type cancer. I have finished chemo, and it is officially in remission (yay! thank the Lord). I will be updating soon, hopefully, as my energy returns. I want to finish my stories and continue others soooo badly, it is driving me crazy! I am soo sorry for the lack of updating, and keeping in touch. I hope everyone is well and I look forward to writing for you again soon. Please be patient and thank you for waiting on me, I promise to hurry!

It was Tener. Standing there with one hand holding the towel closed and the other on the stall, he looked at her with deep blue eyes. Water was dripping from his tawny hair plastered along the side of a very trim, muscular arm. She could see the muscles on his stomach rippling south below the towel. Letting out a loud squeak, Purity turned, hiding her face, “TENER! This is the women's shower!” He didn't respond, but she could feel the burn of his gaze on her naked backside. Johnathan's laughter rang through the phone as Lasci started to undress to ready his wolf, "What's so funny?" he asked, kicking off his shoes. Bastian smirked, “Thought you’d find that worth staying in my company for a moment. After your bad form toward my love, everyone left the dinner table. So, eventually, I found myself waiting on her balcony with no intention of eavesdropping. But, mind you, it just happened that way. I must have caught the tail end of something because one minute, they were talking about your nasty declaration, and the next, the female wolf was attempting to open the balcony door. I was about to hide myself when your brother, Pru, came in the bedroom door and caught her attempting to leave.” Lasci shook his head, irritated, “You’re telling me something I already know, Bastian. Get on with it, or I’ll lose my patience.” Bastian smiled innocently, “I’m getting there, be patient. Now, where was I? Oh yes, her leaving and your brother coming in. Lasci paced the floor, his mind on edge about Purity and everything he said the night before. Now that Fahal had left, he was worried Purity might hate him even more. The front door opened, breaking his thoughts when Pru came in. “Any luck?” Prus shook his head, “Nothing. She’s either covered her trail perfectly or had help.” Running his hands desperately through his hair Lasci swore, “Fuck, I bet that vampire helped her. Where is he?” “I haven’t seen him since dinner last night. It’s possible he helped her leave, but we can’t be certain. If the female wolf was here, in fact, looking for a mate, I doubt she would have left regardless of what the situation was. Not all of us will be mated to Purity, so she had a chance. Purity watched as Johnathan threw a wave out the van’s window and drove off. She was nervous about being left in Tener’s care but decided she could fend for herself by turning away from him and heading straight into the kitty café. Small mews from the kittens in a small enclosed sitting area reached her ears, and the smell of baked goods and tea filled her nose. A standing sign greeted her and read, “Find your seat, lift your feet, and get cozy. Our fluffy friends will find their way to you. They are well behaved and will let you enjoy your meal in peace (All cooked breakfast is chef’s choice, baked items are created fresh every morning.).” Purity giggled because at that moment, a large, short-haired tabby rubbed against her legs and meowed loudly, demanding attention. “Awe, aren’t you precious? Walking over to the kitchen window, Lasci peeked through the blinds. Only blackness looked back at him with the occasional light display from the storm that stayed in the clouds. He wasn’t worried about Fahla but about how Purity would take the news that the female wolf had left. At dinner, he couldn’t help noticing the easy conversation between them and the laughter coming from Purity. They appeared to be close in such a short amount of time. It was the same with his brothers, too. She could talk comfortably with them and joke about things. So why did he always feel outside her circle, like a stranger sometimes? Purity lay in bed with her eyes closed while the morning light tickled her lashes. She didn’t dream but a tiny bit about Lasci. Recalling it, she could remember the feeling, and the images remained of them both staring across from each other, standing on opposite sides of a small creek. Pru ran to the balcony and was sure he caught sight of her for only a moment before she disappeared along the dark tree line. Going back inside quickly, he shut the door as quietly as possible, seeing Purity was still asleep. Walking fast, he left the room to run down the stairs and chase after Fahla. But he stopped, suddenly hesitant. Pru knew if the female wolf wanted to stay, she would have. He couldn’t understand why she’d left, but what was even more confusing was how she managed to jump down off the balcony when that was something even he couldn’t do without almost injuring himself. Of course, Lasci had jumped off his own balcony a few times in wolf form, but Lasci was an Alpha, so it was understandable. “Is Fahla a true Alpha female?” Pru wondered to himself. “Are they asleep?” Lasci asked, coming from the great room and looking up the stairs at Pru. Everyone had managed to sit down for dinner, but it wasn’t the usually pleasant and funny atmosphere. Libidi still held a grudge against Fahla, and Lasci was unhappy initially. Purity tried smoothing things over, but none of the brothers or Bastian seemed comfortable. Finally, after an argument with Lasci, causing him to get up from the dinner table and leave, Purity lost her appetite and invited Fahla to stay in her bedroom for the night. “Ignore him. He’ll get over it,” Purity said, referring to Lasci and slamming her bedroom door after Fahal made her way in. The female wolf laughed in amusement, “You’re impressive, kid. Every Alpha I’d ever come across wouldn’t just sit there and argue before finally pouting and leaving the room.” Purity laughed nervously, “Yeah, well, I'm sure he’ll make me pay for it later.
